XD But anyways, I thought Mr. Rorie said something about there might be a custom edition available for the european types, but that was just a maybe. You can beg with him. Yeah, I'll wait and see if he answers, but I suppose I better steel myself for phoning up mom for another favour. She should be grateful - I hardly ever beg for money anymore. The thing (or problem - if you share my viewpoint) is that this kind of stuff is up to the publisher, Sega. Their info machine isn't exactly churning out EU-specific stuff. But it could be bad, they could be stealth-releasing DLC like Bioware just did.

Firearm manufacturers tend to be a lot more litigious when a name is attached instead of just a visual representation. Also a lot of the most commonly represented weapons are popular pattern firearms with tons of knock-off versions/variations. E.g. the M1911, Hi-Power, AK-47, etc. So even if something looks like an M1911, it would be hard to prove it's "really" an M1911 (no dude, it's totally a double-stack 10mm!), much less a Colt/Kimber/Springfield/Wesson blah, blah. Hey, I hope you didn't think I'm bashing you guys about this, I perfectly understand the need and the solution - and looking at the names you have for the guns... a lot of them are better than the originals

Mmh, I was just about to point out that I for one know several people I'd happily shoot with 6 grenades if I lived in a world with no laws or moral conventions.

Maybe he's missing the ME elevators.

It is my impression, based on what we've heard before, that Saudi Arabia is going to be the most straight-forward section of the game.

Yeah, that's bad, almost on a par with 'pfft'. -

Drawn and quartered, too... You know, you guys, you don't have to be **** to everyone who doesn't agree with you. I'm just saying, is all. What you quoting me for? Care to rethink my point? -

Never mind a lot of that ripping sound the disc drive makes when that amount of data is squeezed on the dvd I still say that installing stuff on the x360 prevents you from getting the full xbox experience as Bill intended!

DAO has been moved to November. The PC and X360 have an actual release date in early november (can't remember it), and 'my' PS3 version has no release date yet specified. Alpha Protocol is the clear no1 release this year to me, with DAO and MW2 also on the to-buy list. I SOOO wish at least one of these had come out in July or August, coz now I was forced to get a (social) life again, and it might interfere with my gaming when it's possible again!

Yep, it's the AKA47. Most of the weapon names I've seen so far have been pretty cool, though, so it might be at least as much fun as with the 'real' weapons. Or real weapon names, at least.

Nepenthe replied to ninjitsubob's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Pfft, I'm not jumping to any conclusions, it's been said guns out all the time. So if I think that is a bad thing, I'm going to say it's bad. Is it going to stop me from purchasing the game, hell no, but do I think the game is poorer if said occurrence happens, yes. It's a good thing this is the internet. People who say 'pfft' to my face generally need to be carried out. As for the rest of your opinion, it was invalidated by the way you chose to express it. -
Edit: never mind...

Something is telling me you don't need weapons outside the embassy, so that's why in the video they were not drawn out. But as soon as you enter, and the action begins, then you will probably get the weapons out. This is what I was pointing to. I'm not 'defending the devs', I'm saying you still don't have the complete picture of the game they do. It's absolutely useless to second guess their decisions when you really don't know what the end result is - at least when we are talking about relatively minor cosmetic choices, such as these. If the end result is that I'll walk around in bars with two SMGs and nobody notices it, sure, I'll think less of the game, but until I actually see that somewhere, I'm seeing no point in bitching and moaning about it. -
Well, you're better off than I am, since with a GMA950, the rest of my specs don't really matter

Oh lord. Or, you guys could just wait and see the end result, instead of going ballistic over partial info... -
I started with a 40 MB Mac se/30. It eventually got boosted all the way to 80! My windows partition is just 40 gigs. It's been enough to pretty much hold all the games I'm ready, willing and able to play on this 2-3 yo Macbook...

I think they'll want to release a game as optimised as possible after the NWN2 experiences, no matter what the platform. I'm always amused by PC gamers tendency to assume that they are "screwed" when console limitations dictate some design choices. If not being able to holster your weapon in a game is something you want to call "getting screwed", you're going to spend the rest of your life on all fours -
It's when textures load in a way you can see - there's a lower res/something else on the bottom and you see stuff appear on it until becomes the end result you are supposed to see. Sorry, I'm no techie, so my explanation is probably at the very least inaccurate. I only remember noticing it in Mass Effect, not in the (ps3) version of Bioshock, or really any other game (I have a fairly low-performance laptop, so most games I've played over the last few years have suffered from graphical glitches that make texture pop-in seem immersive)

You guys are so harsh, that's what happens when you answer real questions instead of no-commenting or having your lines hammered into your head by a PR department that is several times larger than the dev team
