I don't think I've done a single heroic since Dromund Kaas on my agent. I just cba to go through the hassle of getting a group together and then dying a dozen times because everybody sucks. Currently on Alderaan. I always thought it felt too long because the lastI was in a rush to finish chapter 1 and put the game on hold due to real life work pressures, but it actually is terribly long. It's absolutely colossal, and instead of having the decency of being a mostly flat desert like tatooine or hoth, it's a forest with a ton of mountains and gorges. Of course, due to not doing heroics, I'm in serious danger of becoming under leveled soon, so I can't get too blasé about it.

The opposite, did Kaon today with a PUG, kept having these 3 second delays between actions going off while on maximum (4) bars on delay.

Got back from an-all day (05:30-23:45) Brussels gig. Feel like death.

I think you might be onto something there... Certainly SWTOR, DA2 and ME3 (I think SWTOR most of all) probably would've killed most people's enthusiasm for the job. Since the Docs were running the Bioware label within EA, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens. If it gets rolled into EA games with Aaryn Flynn just continuing as Bio Edmonton and Montreal GM, I suspect it's gonna be something terrible. Weird how they totally broke their habits with the announcements? Confimed Omega DLC (and others) for ME3, ME4 and a new Casey Hudson-led IP there?

I'm the guy here who enjoyed DA2 more than DAO, so, yeah. Not going to rehash my points, especially since the replies I get to them can usually be summarised "trololol" Come to think of it, there have been two times when I've played a game I enjoyed while in a terrible state. The first time was FONV due to the Bethesda connection, the second was LA Noire, when I had actual food poisoning.

Have to agree with my eccentric colleague from above... but I'm still interested, who's E-peen is currently ahead?

Useless meetings all day at work, now thinking about how the bad part about kickstarter is that it brings out all the armchair developers en masse.

They're saying it's "based on" Frostbite 2, so you can't really draw any conclusions from that. I feel the need to address the second part of your post, but simply the word "Bethesda" causes violent retching in me. If it's anything like the DA2 demo it's an automatic from me. So we have somebody else who played the worst demo ever and still goes around assuming that it was reflective of the final product? Please, let's leave the whining to the professional haters who at least played the game, they occasionally even provide something worthwhile...

What, you rated it red x? All kidding aside, Boo, it's the least surprising thing to add, considering that quite a few of the BG1 NPCs are essentially cardboard cutouts. But I guess people will always have different relationships to this game, especially as it appears to have been a "first" for many. I played it when I was 20 and had a lot of CRPG experience from the old gold boxes etc. (which also had the first CRPG "romance", Sulajia) Also, I'm not sure what your source is, but according to Trent Oster the idea isn't to add a full Bioware style "romance" into BG1, more like some early hints of one (or three, as it may be) that will only be "romances" in BG2. So no sharing the bedroll yet, sorry.

Very rarely do I see someone suggest something that is both factually impossible and a really bad idea at the same time, yet this qualifies (ok, I actually see it quite often, but it's always with politicians who think the rules of economics don't apply to decisions they make). Like hot dogs and milk shakes, Obsidian and Bioware are best enjoyed separately (albeit possibly very close to each other, and from the same table in the same restaurant, see KOTOR and NWN).

Romances are overexposed both as advertised material and as a source of whining. Personally, it'll be just content I won't access (I like to identify at least to some degree with the characters I play in RPGs, which is why they are all straight males, that being what I consider my core indentity) and I don't really give a toss about it's inclusion one way or the other. If you need them to cut it so that you're not tempted by the irresistible pull of homosexuality, I can see complaining about it, but otherwise just ignore it, ffs.

Composer for Eternity?
Nepenthe replied to MechanicalLemon's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Justin Bell who is a sound designer at Obsidian http://www.benaturalmusic.com/ Sounds to me like we have our guy right there. Obsidian's had to let go a lot of great people of late, I hope this project will allow them to tap into their current talent as much as possible, and then maybe allow them to look at some of the people who had to leave...
