  1. Take note kids, you'll see how being arrogant and cheap is the way to success here
  2. Yes - complexity of the challenge is important to me. And when I see that remake goes from 26 soldiers to 6 I lose interests. roflmao
  3. With personalised results, there's that room for error. Unless you just outed yourself as obyknven.
  4. "I want the financial system to be run by people who aren't bankers" tops even "we have to tax the rich more" (and "I want an open relationship!") on the list of things that gets infinitely more complicated when you try to execute it in practice instead of just as a populist war cry. The only thing you can really do is try to regulate them and attempt to prevent "too big to fail" in some way. I mean, I know people who work in AIG, they're not worse or better than anybody else (they tend to have a dry sense of humour I appreciate, though), and they also believe that their "financial products" department was a bunch of colossal ****ups.
  5. I googled this and found this article about it. Pretty lol. "he believes abortion is justified in cases of rape and replies that rape does not result in pregnancy." Always when I read such stuff, it comes from republicans. Are democrats in the US talking the same shait or is it only a republician thing? I mean, this stuff is so crazy, I can't believe that the US is "the best and mighty country" when such stuff comes up. If a politician in germany would even just hint at something like this, his career would be pretty much over. And that's what terrifies me about American politics. Normally, when I see two opposing viewpoints, I can be fairly confident that the truth will be somewhere close to the middle of the two. But in the US political discourse, this does not seem to apply. In fact, I occasionally feel that somebody is intentionally playing the system in an attempt to confuse people who think like I normally do. Of course the way corporations succeed in brainwashing people in voting against their own advatage is another thing that I find absolutely terrifying, even if I'm a lobbyist myself.
  6. Dishonored seems awesome, so I decided to put it on hold until the thesis defense and subsequent holiday are done. I think it kind of needs room to breathe to be enjoyed, like a good red wine.
  7. Went to a local texmex joint on Friday with a (male) friend. As usual, was the first to show up since my friend (who I've known since grammar school) is chronically late. Place was packed, so walked up to a cutie who was occupying a 6-seater alone, inquiring about the other seats. She immediately went into explaining how she was aaalll alooone and stuff. Of course, I literally haven't been on a night out in the last two years due to ramming my ll.d. at near-record speed. Also put on like 60 lbs. So totally crashed and burned due to NEVER EVER being able to imagine that some hawt Guess Girl would randomly start hitting on me in my current state. At least it gives me hope that I might get some action when I'm Dr. sixpack by next summer/autumn. p.s. I realise this is tangentially related, at best, to what I quoted.
  8. Geographics often becomes a problem there. OTOH, we also seem to be a bit behind Americans in acceptance of geeky pursuits. Or maybe it's just an age thing, my bracket (~30) seems a lot more close-minded than the 20-25 set.
  9. That's not the only place where HK-47 is. :I Advisory: Prepare to die! I don't think they've thrown the class stories out of the window, I assume they'll return when they are done with Makeb (a Gree planet, which they've said will continue the class stories). I assume that this is an Ilum-like daily area, one that has a slight story tying it together, y'know. I saw some of the stuff from the PTS, and it looks like the Hk51 quests drop BH comms...
  10. Well, it only came out yesterday in Europe. I played the first mission last night. Feels very nice and deus exy, surprisingly challenging sneaking right out of the bat (or I've gotten really REALLY rusty, which is likely). Was a bit surprised by the voiceless protagonist in this type of game, as I feel it's basically better the more heavily characterised your avatar is (so JC Denton, it's necessary, Shepard/Hawke a good decision, Grey Warden/<protagonist> probably counter-productive). Anyway, still really early days for me, but looks good. After ME3, not ready to call GOTYs before the very end, but considering how terrible the year's been, in the top 2 at any rate.
  11. Probably the best thing in the game since launch coming soonish: http://www.swtor.com/info/news/%5Bnews-category%5D/20121011 And no, I'm not talking about f2p.
  12. Yeah, Steam sales are a bit funny like that and this one is not a unique occurrence. Reminds of a return ticket I once bought from Copenhagen to London because it was half the price of a one-way ticket. Even if I never intended to use the return part. Go figure. You probably caused a bomb scare down the road. More seriously, though, you can only do it in that direction, if you wanted to use just the return trip, they'd automatically cancel it for failing to show up for the original flight, IIRC. I deal mostly with air cargo stuff, though.
  13. Remember that in addition to not having to master new discs etc. ME1 and DLC were originally published by Microsoft, and ME2 was under some sort of timed exclusivity agreement - these might have repercussions for the rerelease, so it might not just be EA trying to stiff you.
  14. Same here. :D Bad stuff does not happen around me, it happens after I leave. I am the bulwark against chaos and despair. Take your chances. Good point. I'll have to remember that the next time I want to throw a temper tantrum and leave the board when everybody has reached a group-think singularity.
  15. Only seen a girl do real squats once, and I've been a fairly regular gym goer for fifteen years. The results were, frankly, amazing. And, since I'm in serious pain and powered by Schadenfreude, this takes the cake today:
  16. I'd say it's less a case of "considered to be" and more one of "blatantly is". Basically the functional equivalent of ME2 Liara. Now anybody want to take bets whether she'll be a dlc hawker like that DAO guy? Remember DAO, the perfect game that everybody says was sullied by it's sequel? Didn't think so...
  17. I'm removing you from my friends list before something catastrophic happens to me.
  18. Confirmed upcoming ME3 SP DLC. Exact content unknown, but can pretty much extrapolate if you've played the game and are remotely aware of the story in the comics. From mined data, appears to be on the large (shadow broker) side and include a hub.
  19. I bought an x360 just to play ME(1) on it (no regrets) and own all the three games on PC - I tried the PS3 demo back in the day, and found that I actually prefer the x360 controller for the mass effect games, even if the PS3 controller seems to fit my smallish (well, in comparison to the rest of me ) hands better.
  20. Not 100% sure who you are asking But as for me, I'm currently playing on default difficulty and using a rogue tooled up for dual wielding (and looks like I'm going to put points in the 'assassin' tree of skills). Currently off to kill some mercs for a guy with a strange accent and a funny looking skull cod piece. I was personally impressed by the chapter 1 ending and the different ways it can play out, even if there isn't that much choice in it as happenstance. Back's killing me, so not playing anything when I get out of the office at the moment. Hoping to get a little bit Dishonoured in when it releases tomorrow - usually Nordics get the games on Thursday, but this is one of those Friday releases like Alpha Protocol was...
  21. The best way to save money in the long term is to buy quality. I think its the combination of "embellished" and they've given her a tighter tunic and no pants... Works every time. I really need to replay it soonish. Of course, since I lost my dao and da2 saves in the great brain fart of 2012, I now have a pretty good excuse for both!
  22. Had a filling chip yesterday, so went to get it fixed. Turns out it had been done badly the first time around, and I was a hair's breadth away from needing root canal. Whew.
  23. Working standing with my desk up due to some back issues... almost fell asleep and to the floor. Need to go for a walk.
  24. IIRC they're using the ultra hi res pictures (you only saw in the character creation screen), but this is something by knowledge and recollection is a lot more vague on. Zeckul?
  25. Report on your findings. I remember trying it out and it not working too well. ;P
