Kratos wasn't evil, but just a product of his time - a time where a victory was only considered complete with the complete annihilation of the enemy's male population & the enslavement of the enemy's female population. All Greek heroes were violent butchers. Achilles for instance single-handedly killed an entire Troyan army when he was sad that his buddy got killed, for instance. He only showed some emotion when he found out too late that he had skewered a hawt Amazone Queen. *shrug*

Let's create the worst fantasy setting ever.
One of the hero's party members must of course also betray the main hero, not to mention the hero must befriend a snarky, talking pet during the epic quest (preferably a tiny dragon that got cast out by his brethren because of his size and the inability to breathe fire).

Good Sci-Fi and Fantasy books
Feist's "Riftwar" trilogy is pretty good compared to his later work (which seems ripped almost directly from D&D) - great characters, interesting story fraught with political intrigue, at least three siege battles that even put the battle of Helm's Deep/Pelennor Fields into nothing but two kids fighting over a sand castle.

Let's create the worst fantasy setting ever.
When the hero finally faces off against the Uber Bad Guy/Girl (usually Guy), the hero gets beaten badly but the Uber Bad Guy somehow refuses to finish things and in a final twist (a cutting remark, an unexpected flourish or a sneer at the Uber Bad Guy "having nobody that loves him") the hero swiftly turns the tables and delivers the killing blow.

Dragon Age
Did the Morrigan's voice actress change? From earlier videos I thought she had a deeper voice, it doesn't fit the sultry sorceress shtick at all. The French woman's voice is alright, though I am not certain if it is an English woman trying to fake a French accent or a genuine French woman speaking English.

How do you feel about playing multiple characters?
Dreamfall is an example how multiple characters should not be handled. If one uses more than one protagonist, gave them ample story time in the game to make their appearance meaningful. One of the characters in the game had like 10% play time and was given a sudden change of heart which was downright embarassing due to the way the game was structured around the three characters. Indigo Prophecy did this admirably by showing how the story developed with all three characters throughout the game and made them eventually come together naturally. Dreamfall's "convergence" scene was just forced as it was unclear what the importance was to the main story.

What are you playing now?
All puzzles after Ch 2 are straightforward, save for one in Ch 7 that seems torn straight out of one of the Myst games. This puzzle kinda breaks the flow of the game, even. Still, it's fun to figure out.

Good Armor vs. Bad Armor (or Jedi Robes)
I tried that, but in the end the robes aren't that great. Only Thon's robe is okay for a non-Jedi Guardian but apart from that nothing's better than an Ossus Keeper Robe.

What are you playing now?
I'm replaying Gothic 3. Forgot how hilarious it was to wipe out a town of Orcs right in the beginning, then get slaughtered by the first pack of wolves right outside of town.

The hero(ine) that wins the day is the reincarnation of a former hero(ine) that defeated the Uber Bad Guy/Girl in ages past.

Good Sci-Fi and Fantasy books
Jacqueline Carey's two "The Sundering" books are pretty compelling since it's classic epic fantasy, but it's written almost entirely from the point of view of the 'bad guys'. Her Kushiel trilogy is pretty fine too. I now prefer authors that write fantasy sagas of at most two or three books. An author like Guy Gavriel Kay uses as much political intrigue, epic struggle, romances & character introspection as any of the multivolume writers but he manages to masterfully fit it all in one book. Oh, and really bad things usually happen to the main characters too. Sci fi: I found Dan Simmons' "Hyperion" very enjoyable. More recently he wrote "Ilium" & "Olympos" which is pretty unique as it mixes sci fi & the Troyan war of Greek Mythology.

Good Sci-Fi and Fantasy books
I'd recommend Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry (dark heroic fantasy done right) & Tigana standalone book to everyone. Best fantasy ever. Of more recent authors, I particularly enjoy: Elizabeth Haydon - Rhapsody Trilogy (scifi - fantasy) Naomi Novik - Temeraire series (Horatio Hornblower meets Dragonriders of Pern)
