  1. Example... It's not that bad with my game, but still noticable and annoying. I don't think it has anything to do with codecs, just something inherent in Fallout 3's engine that messes up the sync. People have been reporting this since Morrowind/Oblivion, but I've never run into it with those games. I can't use the supposed "iFPSClamp=60" solution for there is no way my computer can run FO3 constantly above 60 FPS. Apart from this, in the past I've had audio problems (stuttering) & freezing problems, but I've managed to solve those somehow. This "Buggy Mess" makes me weary about FO:NV...
  2. Maybe upon the main character's death, the game should automatically uninstall itself from the player's computer and also lock the game from any new installs. "One strike and you're out". That would really give those hardc0re RPGers something to play for.
  3. IIRC you can block those lightning balls with a shield. Best thing to do with the Death knight is collecting as many weapons from fallen knights and just throw them at him.
  4. It is possible to suffer debilitating wounds during combat?
  5. The Gamebryo engine is... horrible? I've reinstalled FO3 for some reason and reloaded an old save, and now I've run into the notorious frame skipping problem that renders the game unplayable (and gives one a headache after 10 minutes of play)... I don't remember having this before. New engine, Bethesda, please.
  6. ... Then how did you get through the early levels of Divinity 2? Then you should try Ninja gaiden sigma 2. It so easy now that anyone can finish it, even if they forget to block and dodge. No way, Onechanbara is the way to go.
  7. Back to Fallout 3 - nuka grenades are hilariously awesome. Bethesda really went overboard with the custom-made weapons. Even the simple dart gun can turn a super mutant behemoth encounter into a trivial matter.
  8. +1 Currently trying to earn a mage education.
  9. Cut them some slack. They managed to finish it despite a total lack of strategy & it's kinda hard to play decently if you have to finish a preview in 20 minutes and talking the entire time. That said, the combat to me looks a lot like NWN2, only more fast-paced. I was hoping for something more slow-paced with cool animations like Drakensang. Then again, BioWare games shouldn't really be played for the combat nowadays.
  10. There should've been a Republic of Dave radio station. Bethesda missed a huge opportunity there... something like a poor man's version of Enclave Radio. There are actually quite a lot of possible things one can pull off in that tiny parcel of the Capital Wasteland. Makes me wonder whether Bethesda originally planned a quest there but removed it from the game?
  11. With a simple edit of Fallout3.ini you can make everyone killable, as it is supposed to be. Only drawback of that is that their bodies always stay 'intact'.
  12. It would be hilarious if those NPCs would turn out to be the final boss, or the vaunted romance option. "If you want to go all cuddly, first buy this DLC!!"
  13. There's a few shields with very high durability near the end of the game, IIRC. I think you'll have to do with the ones you loot from enemy knights' corpses in the beginning. Not really a problem for the knight anyway, since he can eviscerate most enemies in no time with his combos.
  14. Now that I finally have my new PC back, I'll be playing Risen soon after installing hundreds of Vista updates, game patches & mods (thank you, Bethesda). God, PC gaming sucks.
  15. With the knight you'll have to block a lot with your shield, he stinks at dodging. His "northern/southern cross" combos are easy to perform and powerful IIRC... and can be easily be used in a sequence. But it's true that the knight's origin is pretty difficult... but at least you get a good sword at the end. Eventually when you get the game's "ub3r" sword he'll become unstoppable... its special attack does 14000 damage IIRC
  16. This is highly recommended if you have a high-end system. The game has almost as many mods & custom patches/fixes as FO3.
  17. Margaret the Technician > Three Dog
  18. The terrible AI & wonky animations ruin the shooter aspects completely... if one has played STALKER it feels even worse. But then, combat has always sucked in Bethesda's RPGs. Only in their actiion games like Redguard it was very fun.
  19. Imo the knight had the most interesting origin (heck, you fight a Death KNight at level 1) but I didn't really like the character & his fighting style. Too slow & ponderous (the Dwarf is even worse) for me... the Barbarian is almost as easy to play as the Amazon IIRC... very easy origin story too.
  20. To appease Lord of flies, there should be more "People's Radio of America" types of radio stations.
  21. This DLC (Warden's Keep) reeks of Battlehorn Castle EDIT: I just looked at the CE goodies. "Bergen's Honor = helmet that adds +2 to armor, 25 physical resistance and 6 to attack" "Final reason = adds to damage, fire power & fire damage" "Grimoire of the Frozen wastes = adds +3 to all attributes when read" Are those effects the items add as significant as they sound?
  22. The game is extremely rare today... maybe try eBay? This game is like the Gothic of action games... even a single Orc & skeleton -- fodder in many a D&D game -- can whop your butt if you're going Kratos on them. Playing with the Amazon is pretty easy since she's so fast & agile and most suited to taking on groups of enemies since her "whirlwind" special attack was very easy to use with the keyboard. I should definitely replay it since I seem to remember to have missed the "real" ending of the game... and perhaps to prepare myself to melee combat in Risen.
  23. Ubisoft clearly wins when it comes to celebrity voice actors. They used Monica Bellucci for WW... that puts them a few light-years ahead of Bethesda & BioWare. I'm replaying NWN. Still the best series ever!!!
