  1. I just let Morrigan toggle Telekinetic Weapons when fighting power-armoured boyscouts. That's about it. I've been fighting with the same axe for 7 levels or so, only yesterday I got a great sword from Gangkax's corpse.
  2. I guess the selling price of an item is the same for all merchants? No way to make any profit at all?
  3. Has anyone trouble making gold in this game? I'd like to amass enough to buy some nifty equipment, but it'll take over 200 gold. I never bought any weapons or armour, just potion/poison ingredients... but I don't think I ever had over 100 gold.
  4. It seems it's possible to 'overload' the teleporters by sending a party member to each. Then simply swarm and kick his undead behind. The arcane horror in the Elven ruins isn't Gaxkang, though.
  5. The Deep Roads is really, really tedious... never-ending corridors with the occasional pack of mooks that pop up out of nowhere. Am I glad I picked this area last. The Grey Wardens who retire there probably die of boredom rather than at the hands of Darkspawn.
  6. I takes a while for Wynne to get Cone of Cold. Since she starts with Tier 2 Earth spells, might as well give her Petrify (same effect with Stonefist as Cone of Cold) & continue developing her healing spells. In the long run, it might even be useful to give her some Spirit spells like Mana Clash & Spell Shield... to deal with annoying Darkspawn Emissaries.
  7. ^I chose to kill the Lady of the Forest and her wolfies, but I guess the battle would've been the same... surrounded by a lot of mooks. I had a pretty easy time, really... Morrigan cast Sleep & a couple of Cone of Colds (with my tanks shattering), while Wynne tossed a Petrify+Stonefist... then a combined lightning arc and things were pretty much over. But if I had chosen this area as my first after Lothering... I guess it would've been quite challenging.
  8. Anyone fought
  9. Don't know about Crushing Prison, but templar talent Cleanse Area does dispel Curse of Mortality from everybody else than the caster himself. Serves me right for not bringing along Alistair then, instead of that stupid Dwarf. God, I hate Dwarves.
  10. Right... as long as some idiot doesn't cast Crushing Prison or Curse of Mortality. Is it even possible to resist or dispel this crap? I tried Cleanse Aura... didn't seem to do anything.
  11. I don't see anything wrong with my henchmen's specs. Imoen chick is built more as an archer to give players a reason to use Zorro dude. I stopped using stealth when encounters would trigger anyway after the stealthed henchman passed a certain point in a room with enemies. Hilarious seeing enemies rushing past the rogue when he's trying to be smart and lay some traps.
  12. The most trouble I've had in the game was during some random encounters where you are suddenly thrown in the Battle of Agincourt. On the French side. Or encounters where suddenly mooks rise up from the floor or out of thin air and one finds oneself surrounded. But luckily I haven't come across the old "Boss cutscene" trick yet.
  13. Same here.
  14. Are you playing on console?
  15. They have less endurance/hp and dex, so they can't be that powerful. With all the buffs from Arcane Shield, Rock armour, Shimmering Shield they should be able to get an armour rating double of that of normal warriors, defense over 100, 100% mental/physical resistance & 75% to elemental resistances. With Combat Casting, they should get a decent attack percentage. To me, it sounds they'd be able to solo bosses. And with Wade's dragonbone armour, fatigue should not be that astronomically high... throw a few bad AoE spells in the beginning of a fight, then toggle all Terminator buffs and go whopping. Combined with Blood Mage spells like Blood Wound, it should even be more ub3r.
  16. Is an Arcane Warrior DA's version of a cleric? A mage running around in dragonbone plate or blood dragon armour (with magic replacing strength) sounds ridiculously overpowered. Definitely going to try this on a next playthrough.
  17. Only a PC mage with meta-gaming knowledge that picks up Cone of Cold & Sleep early would have no problems with that fight. I had that fight right after freeing Sten and the poor dude immediately got ripped apart.
  18. I was wondering, is it possible to have all Codex entries unlocked on a first playthrough?
  19. Were you romancing her? I had her pretty high at that point but no singing. I never romanced her, but apparently did dump her according to the game.
  20. Leliana is awesome if you focus her completely on archery. Scattershot & arrow of slaying are very useful in the Deep Roads. And if mooks manage to get close, use her level 4 bard ability to perma-stun them. That Zevran dweep never even left camp in my game. P.S.: is there any way to resist Overwhelm ability? I found that near the end of Brecilian forest even my sword&board with shield wall & high physical resistance got regularly overwhelmed by werewolves.
  21. A Templar's Holy Smite power is pretty useful in the Deep Roads. Ranged stun attack that can rip mages off their mana. Champion/Templar is the best combo for a warrior, imo.
  22. Morrigan does 33% damage in my party. Once she picked up Blizzard & Tempest, she started clearing out entire rooms on herself.
  23. Any tactics for random encounters involving 500 archers? Sometimes I feel like the Spartans at the end of 300.
  24. Anyone find this 'nug' thing in Orzammar funny?
