  1. I'm again in the Deep Roads. ... Gawd. It's like Mines of Moria & Shelob's Lair combined, only not epic.
  2. Ironically (?) enough, for me the hardest boss battle of any recent RPG was the giant rat from Drakensang. With the wound system in that game, you could get your ass handed to you in no time in that battle if you weren't careful.
  3. Divorcee? I thought they stoned women instead in those parts.
  4. ^"Archdemon", indeed. Just another lame dragon that doesn't even use Wing Buffet. *snort* Demogorgon > Archdemon
  5. An annoying problem is my mage doesn't have enough room on the quickbar for all her spells & potions, even when dropping useless spells. NWN 2 had 10 quickbars. I thought lyrium was spice from the very beginning. Raw lyrium being deadly and otherwise turning people insane, and all that.
  6. I don't get how rogues boost their attack rating either if they're going the lethality route. At least archers have Aim talent active that boosts attack significantly and with Rapid aim bows, don't sacrifice in attack speed. Critical shot talent also automatically generates a critical hit, but damage output isn't as astronomical. There must be some kind of multiplier behind the scenes active. There are people that have boasted 1000+ damage with arrow of slaying.
  7. I think Reaper's Vestments look pretty cool, combined with Libertarian's cowl. Like something from Elton John's wardrobe... no wonder no enemies ever resist Horror spell in my game.
  8. Speaking of cunning, anyone know whether Lethality works for bows too? And I don't understand how Leliana can do 200+ damage with Arrow of Slaying... and without Lethality.
  9. I'm still waiting for a Summonable Genie Merchant. Like the one in Hordes of the Underdark. That way I wouldn't have to leave all those valuable Frostrock, Lifestone, Leather helmets & Grey iron daggers behind.
  10. What's Ego Draconis like on the scale (pun intended) of Drakensang to Dragon Age? Can't really compare since it's not party-based, but Ego Draconis > Dragon Age > Drakensang (although I think the Dark Eye universe is the best of any RPG, along with Elder Scrolls). Just because there are no repetitive, never-ending dungeons like Deep Roads/Carta Hideout/Temple of the Urn or Grolm tunnels. And because Kirill Pokrovsky >> Inon Zur. It's better to compare with Risen, but I like it more than that game as well. There's a ridiculous amount of combat near the end of the game too, but unlike Risen your PC is so bad-ass before the end of the game that entire hordes simply get wasted almost without lifting a finger. So it's not really an issue.
  11. Spanish Eurogamer gave it a 9. I think like with Risen, it's again a case of reviewing it for X360 but putting the same score for PC too. I didn't encounter any of the technical issues that are mentioned near the end of the review.
  12. BioWare games need their romances, just like Bond flicks need their Bond girls.
  13. Eurogamer review I don't understand the score since the review was quite positive, but it's Eurogamer so...
  14. At least in a Bethesda game, Shale would have been replaced by a huge yellow exclamation mark. How awesome would that be?
  15. Wait til she drops the mask & suit. I bet she looks exactly like an organic version of a Geth, but with a face instead of a headlight. Asari > Quarians
  16. Being slightly dyslexic, I keep reading this topic as "Swiss ban minerals". Highly annoying.
  17. I found the grave of Gygax in Haven. Never happened to me.
  18. I think I'm just going to make my Dalish Elf rogue a pure archer and take Ranger specialization. It may be a bit underwhelming in the beginning (ha!), but eventually with Arrow of Slaying & Scattershot it is pretty good. Doesn't matter anyway, since mages do 50% of party damage in my playthroughs. Not to mention those summoned pets don't sound bad. But eh... archery isn't bugged like the daggers, is it?
  19. Playing with a rogue is where I wish the combat was turn-based. I think any % elemental damage on anything save staffs only adds to spell damage. Staff damage is calculated by multiplying a factor (ranging between 0.1875 and 0.25) with Spellpower, IIRC. Elemental bonuses & Staff Focus further increase power.
  20. Is there a tactic that lets rogues automatically get behind & backstab enemies? Nice thing about warriors is that they don't require much micromanagement and can simply wade in and do their thing. Same thing goes for archer girl who does her thing well without getting into throuble. I basically always micromanage my mage, who runs around the battlefield throwing fireballs, freezing/shattering mooks, casting sleep, etc. If I make a PC rogue, I don't have the energy to constantly micromanage two party members in RTwP and figure in this case I'll have to bring along Wynne and not rely on any offensive magic damage aside from the pew-pew staff... and basically rely on the rogue for damage. Which would kinda suck a lot. So with my style of play, I'm not really seeing a playthrough with a rogue. I've actually already made a Dalish Elf rogue and will test a bit, but I will probably reroll a Dalish Elf DW warrior.
  21. Yey, another crazy biotic. Combined with Subject Zero, it's fire & ice.
  22. What exactly is the difference between Nightmare & Hard? Do enemies do more damage, have more HP or simply have more resistances?
  23. I always play on Normal. As for Arcane Warrior, in the end it is faster & cooler to simply "shake & bake" all enemies. Sure a frail Elven chick running around in Juggernaut armour with Spellweaver is fun at first, but it also turns the game into a round of whack-a-mole. You're invulnerable against anything that isn't orange marked, but without melee combat abilities just auto-attacking everything gets really boring.
  24. It seems the cheesy solo dragon slaying tactics work on Flemeth too. If you stand at the right distance, the Dragon will refrain from the Wing Buffet and simply stay put (aside from the occasional Roar) and blast you with fire ad infinitum (which can pretty much be shrugged off with Shimmering Shield). Takes some lyrium potions, though.
  25. Hey! That cheese knife is actually a pretty awesome dagger! But that lock wasn't pickable either.
