I find Baldur's Gate better than its sequel, due to the low-level campaign and limited possibilities for exploration. I still remember the large amount of absurd encounters one could have in random places (for example, the child looking for his dog who turns out to be a shapeshifting demon, etc). The boss fight against Sarevok is also much more compelling than Slayer-Irenicus, and almost impossible to win without cheesing. Not to mention Durlag Tower - best dungeon of all time. I also think Irenicus is one of the most overrated videogame antagonists, pretty much the Sephiroth of western RPGs. A mage who tried to reach above his station, predictably failed and then went on a mad quest for revenge against the world. Yey.

The combat sounds more like Dark Messiah. Maybe Arkane's influence? As for magic, as long as I can still create my own spells I do not worry much. Custom made destruction & illusion spells made the level scaling a non-issue in Oblivion.

I've been reading up on TES lore regarding thu'um. It seems Vivec had a inventive way of countering the almighty dragon shout. Please Todd, implement this in the game.

The Restoration mod is highly recommended if you plan to play Dark side male Exile. The chicks will then eventually literally fight over the Exile.

It makes sense for Nords. Nords were immune to frost in Morrowind, and in Oblivion had 50% frost resistance IIRC. The scaly and furry races shouldn't have much trouble either.

All I know is that she casts spells that a fallen Paladin should never be able to cast. Blade barrier, Harm, etc. To add insult to injury, in HotU she then loses all those spells and returns to being a crappy paladin.

It's funny how Aribeth switched class to cleric when she turned evil.

What do they mean with this? All it took to having a good relationship with party members was showering them with gifts, even if one acted contrary to their desires during quests. NWN 2's & KOTOR 2's influence system had DA beaten.

What was bad about Leliana's Song? Shadow Broker was nice if Shepard had previously romanced Liara, but otherwise there was not much point to it.

The game does look pretty bad compared to Dungeon Siege and Warcraft III, which came out in the same year. That is, as long as one doesn't zoom in too much.

You can kill Obould Many-arrows in the game. Be sure to do this, because in the lore that pansy became a god. Also, haters gonna hate.

I wonder whether that Elf-dude will be more sympathetic towards Geralt if the latter supported the Scoia'tael in the first game.
