  1. Well, he did say "rather grindy", which is quite the understatement.
  2. After Fallout 3, I doubt the level scaling will return to the silliness of Oblivion. The radiant storytelling simply means that depending on your skills distribution, you'll receive different quests. E.g. a character geared towards magic not receiving any fighter related quests.
  3. According to a thread of people with the magazine on Bethsoft forums: - Max von Sydow voices some kind of "mentor" - Dragonborn = Dragonslayer - 18 skills (no more mysticism, other skills from Oblivion might've been similarly merged) - 50 levels - Enchantment is back - Crafting system similar to Risen - no more zooming in when talking to NPCs - two hands can be used in combat, e.g. use a sword in one hand, and magic with the other one + dual-wielding - non-fugly character models and faces (mention was made of a Nord woman in a tavern) - giant spiders, mammoth, sabre-tooth tigers, yetis, snow trolls - perk each level, as in Fallout 3 Last but not least: "Radiant Storytelling" "The game eventually logs a huge storehouse of knowledge about how you've played, and subsequently tailors content to your capabilities and experiences. Entering a city, a young woman might approach you and beg you to save her daughter from kidnappers. The game will look at the nearby dungeons you've explored, automatically set the mission in a place you've never visited, and designate opponents that are appropriately matched to your strengths and weaknesses."
  4. Most interesting that dragons will regularly go Smaug on towns. I'm not sure how they suddenly became evil. Alduin being the big bad is questionable as well.
  5. I'm expecting a delay considering Dragon Age 2 and TWitcher 2 come out in March/April 2011.
  6. Nm, I pasted the wrong bit.
  7. Turn off bloom.
  8. Releasing it digitally a year ago might at least have kept the company afloat. Three months after the German release DTP already pulled the plug. The Dragon Knight Saga hasn't been released physically in NA either, but as I understand has been quite succesful through Steam. As much as I dislike DD, at least it's helping independent developers to stay in business, while the publishers are generally contributing to the reverse. Here's what the Larian CEO wrote on dealign with US publishers:
  9. Alec Newman, apparently.
  10. This is unintentionally hilarious.
  11. I think the theme of Storm of Zehir is the best one by far.
  12. From what region of Britain is his accent?
  13. It's a disgrace for such a good game. Dtp is the worst publisher ever. The same will probably happen with Venetica. (btw, the English version is available in the entire Benelux, not only Luxemburg)
  14. Will the game be released in Europe?
  15. It sounds like a typical Obsidian release. Good characters/writing versus bad gameplay/level design.
  16. I don't recall any BioWare game with a giant dialogue tree.
  17. I liked the one in Denerim where pickpocketing an elfroot would trigger a random encounter where your party was surrounded by at least fifty guards after the five minute loading screen.
  18. Gamespot Dead Money review
  19. Fourth Era Tamriel map: I like how the Argonians conquered a chunk of Morrowind. It also seems the Nords took their old lands back. So mayhap Skyrim will also feature locations outside the Third Era province. Fourth Era lore introduced by "The Infernal City" novel (Third Era ends in 3E 433 with the ascension of Martin Septim):
  20. Sounds like heaven.
  21. Is Rage coming out next year? I might actually go out of my mind and get it.. provided my computer can run it.
  22. In Egypt and most other muslim countries, converting to christianity from islam is actually punishable by death.
  23. I don't understand how the design for Dalish leather armour passed. The females look like cheerleaders who lost their pompons.
  24. The Ganth had a life-stealing axe, you just needed to get out of melee reach when it started glowing IIRC to prevent him from healing. Most annoying enemy by far was the Garganturax.
