  1. How powerful is melee in the end? My mage's fireballs did 6000+ damage at the end of FoV, one-shotting pretty much everything, but the final boss still took me a while.
  2. Couldn't you really post a pic of Aribeth in her cleavage armour?
  3. I'm replaying and frequently encountering a glitch where my character is frozen in an animation, making the controls stop responding completely... the only way to fix this is quicksaving and quickloading. Very annoying, I'm guessing this was introduced by the new patch (I also don't have the impression that Boone got nerfed). But I am also playing with the Multi Companion mod, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Later I'll add Arcade, Cass & Lily, so I can nicely get to all content I missed in my first playthrough without having to lift a finger in combat.
  4. Mage in DA:O was the most fun for me, except that the origin contains probably the most annoying character in the game, and has the gall to make this character your best friend (then again, the female City Elf is forced to marry someone who looks like he stepped out of Deliverance).
  5. I finished 6 of the 8 chapters of Gray Matter, and so far it is the best adventure game to come out in years. It starts a bit slow and the story seems cookie-cutter at first, but just as I thought I had everything figured out, after three chapters the story really starts to twist and turn and now I really don't have an idea anymore how it's going to end. Atmosphere & music are brilliant, and the voice-acting is very decent as well (especially the male protagonist). Puzzles aren't that easy for a modern adventure game either. Really nice work.
  6. That's all nice and well, guys, but can I play with a girl in this game? Not too keen on playing Neo on bad-hairdo-day.
  7. I don't understand why Tolkien was even dragged into this. It's D&D that started the image of the wimpy mage in robes that hurls down fire & lightning on enemies. The typical image of magic in fantasy is completely alien to Tolkien... since Arda was supposed to be Earth in a forgotten, mythical age. Gandalf is even weary of using his magic to light his staff in the book, because this might reveal himself to enemies. The only open use of his magic was in the fight with the Balrog. The only example of somebody using magic freely & openly, would be L
  8. "Stormcrow" was an insult used only by Wormtongue in the Two Towers.
  9. The Nazi bitch refers to the Austrian chick from Last Crusade that also slept with Junior's dad.
  10. Irenicus in Hell?
  11. Well, gulp a superserum strong enough and you become like Thor or Silver Surfer. That's what happened with the Sentry, the most powerful Marvel superhero.
  12. I mostly found myself reloading when one of my companions died, which didn't happen a lot. But some dungeons -like the one with the legendary cazador- use a scriped event that suddenly spawns several of them (including the legendary one) around you, even when you're sneaking. Had to reload a lot there to keep Cass alive. Dead Wind Cavern was a pain too... as someone posted earlier Veronica has no chance there. Deathclaws have a very long reach and their attacks knock you back. Without perks like paralyzing palm you're simply toast.
  13. No more Deep Roads.
  14. Is the Shishkebab still in the game? That's all one needed in FO3.
  15. I approve heartily, but never gonna happen. Oni was long my favourite game, I even used to be a modder for it.
  16. It also contains THE defining Indy moment. The movie's superior to Last Crusade in every way. No supernatural bullcrap, just good old-fashioned arse-kicking.
  17. I don't like that one can only cast spells by equipping a magic staff. I also don't have the patience to collect X cards to become a badass mage... in the first game, by the time I had found enough cards for my magic to become effective, I was already an invincible fighter. It seems the game wants to be played like Risen, doing quests that take you all over the island. There certainly isn't much incentive for freeform exploration, considering there isn't much off the roads save for animals to kill. I entered some dungeons and got hammered by higher level enemies.
  18. The map shows all Daedric & Dwemer ruins, all Dunmer fortresses, all Velothi towers & a few bandit caves. That's a pretty big help, since an awful lot of sidequests send you to these locations.
  19. I'm about two hours in in Two Worlds 2. Melee combat is better than the dodge/clickfest of the first game, and is almost identical to Gothic 3 now. Enemies will actually bother to block now so that occasionally you have to use the block breaker skill. Sneak kills are pretty fun. Enemy AI outdoors leaves a lot to be desired. If you shoot an enemy with an arrow, they will give chase for 5 seconds and then forget about you completely, letting you shoot them again and repeat til they are dead. I've dropped rhinoceroses this way, feels pretty cheap. This doesn't work indoors, though. I also got my horse, but it's even more useless than in the first game. It can gallop for about 10 seconds and is then reduced to walking slower than the main character on foot. Lame. For the rest... the UI is horrible, worse than vanilla Oblivion, lockpicking minigame is actually fun, voice-acting is pretty good. The game engine is also impressive, since my nearly 3-year old computer manages to max it out. The HDR/bloom is eye-blinding, though, and must be tweaked. Storywise, the game immediately throws everything the main character accomplished in the first game through the window, but that's okay.
  20. I'll wait for a gameplay video before I'll allow the hype to get to me. If this QTE crap is anything like Ninja Blade, I'll give the game a pass completely, no matter the amount of b00bies.
  21. Lucky then, that Two Worlds 2 is Polish.
  22. So this is basically Bayonetta with a guy?
  23. Already done: Best space opera of all time
  24. Pics or it didn't happen. (and then tell me where you ordered it from because my retailer isn't doing so good) http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showt...p;#entry1081641 Got it from Gamemania.
  25. Maybe it's a prequel about the exploits of Captain Anderson/Admiral Hackett in their younger years?
