Expensive gifts for Christmas. Guess the Russians will try to focus on those, easier than hunting HIMARS.

I'd like France to win, just to enhance Giroud's success and Arsenal fans' bitterness over him

Got a grandson scammer, but was disappointing in how he brought no energy to the role just said "Hi Grandpa. I'm in trouble" so flat and uninspired. Worthless.

They state outright it is prehistoric Earth. I guess killing the dinosaurs via space vehicle accident is better than having Driver solo them all. Shame his futuristic carbine seems weak.

Maybe related to https://www.hrw.org/news/2022/01/19/new-language-requirement-raises-concerns-ukraine "The law aims to revitalize the Ukrainian language and is part of government efforts to reinforce national identity after the fall of the Soviet Union. Some officials called it essential for Ukraine’s national security. Public opinion polls indicate that at least 60 percent of Ukrainians support certain provisions of the law. Article 25, regarding print media outlets, makes exceptions for certain minority languages, English, and official EU languages, but not for Russian. Ukrainian authorities justify this by referring to the country’s European ambitions and “the century of oppression of … Ukrainian in favor of Russian.” There are concerns about whether guarantees for minority languages are sufficient. The Venice Commission, the Council of Europe’s top advisory body on constitutional matters, said that several of the law’s articles, including article 25, “failed to strike a fair balance” between promoting the Ukrainian language and safeguarding minorities’ linguistic rights. It stated that “historical oppression of Ukrainian ... may lead to the adoption of positive measures aimed at promoting Ukrainian, but this cannot justify depriving the Russian language and its speakers of the protection granted to other languages…”" That would be hilarious to see the diplomatic storm if they did that, kicking out half the alliance. I'd always thought the carrot would be Ukraine not in NATO for some number of years if anything. Who's going to whine about whataboutism to you, you figure ?- What You've Done Today - Keep Dreaming...

Strange penalty there, I guess the keeper is to dive out of the way if a striker just runs at them. Game over anyway.- Ukraine Conflict

Same thing- Ukraine Conflict
Failing to do so is going to be the end of NATO though and an immense loss of credibility and prestige for the US. So against that, they are pushed into a corner more or less, they'll fight Russia and hope it's remains non-nuclear. In any event, is a moot point as Ukraine's not going to fall here. If there's going to be any guarantee or anything, would just be solely tied to Ukraine no ? Ukraine not being in NAT0 for a while isn't that great a loss to the alliance, regardless of their forces being elite from top to bottom.- Ukraine Conflict
Well, we've not seen nukes fly yet, so at least one barrier they are respecting. I don't really think all the Russian leadership are insane, though.- What You've Done Today - Keep Dreaming...

Neither are in NATO, though. NATO has to defend its members, everything else is optional, right ?- Ukraine Conflict
Invading the Baltics is vastly less likely to occur though. Especially as Ukraine is the preceding event. Would be sort of an amusing hypothetical though, NATO just falling apart as a good chunk of its members are invaded with no proper response.- Ukraine Conflict
Well, was just pointing out why it's not likely, so am surprised it works on people.- Ukraine Conflict
Bit much to extrapolate from how a non-member is treated to determine how a member would, though. Especially as NATO forces would get more funding and attention if Ukraine did capitulate in weeks than it does now. - Ukraine Conflict
