Pachfinder Bugmaker: The Rekkoning
I have ...unconventional memories about how this very party met a monitor lizard either to their way to Oleg's or from it and then both the party and the lizard proceeded to miss each other for something like 15 minutes. Wish I took a screenshot (or several of them, that was really loooong log) of that combat log, all those misses juxtaposed with what was happening on screen -- a bunch of people failing to hit a pony-sized lizard with swords and said lizard failing to bite these people -- was kind of funny in the "Are you even f--ing serious, game" way. My relationship with PK:M is this peculiar love-hate thing, when on the hate side I can instantly unroll the 5 metres long scroll with the list of grievances and annoyances of assorted caliber I'm still salty about even it's a year or so since I last played, but when asked why I loved it (which I did, oddly enough), I can only muster "...je ne sais quoi?" Maybe because it's obviously a labour of love by an enthusiastic, inspired and seemingly nice developers?

You guys and your gore and squick and pigmen. Have a catchy pop tune with cartoon kitties and other cute animalsies. TGIF!- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Whachatalkinabout, the giggity is still there, and not just on smugglers/agents, hunters/troopers also go "Dohohoho!" on some procc or another. I really didn't like it on my IA who was consummate professional to the marrow of his bones and would never giggle like insane schoolgirl whenever he shivved someone in the shins. (Still better than chipmunky soundbytes of that ghastly ewok pest of a companion; there were times when it was the most OP pet of them all, you couldn't make two steps on the fleet without one of them screeching at you 🤢🤮).- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Hey, you leave Gault alone! 😠 Best companion, ditched that boring ass cyborg teenager as soon as I got him, never looked back. I didn't mind that BH story was kind of episodic and disjointed. Like a series of anecdotes old hunters would share while sitting around space campfire. 🍻- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
I heard f2p is less atrocious now than it used to be but that's not much of a praise since it was truly atrocious. Preferred status -- you get it by subbing once or buying something from game shop for real money -- is plenty enough if you don't plan to do end game raids or play Space Barbie by buying grossly overpriced garb from the game market. I'd say you try f2p and see if it works for you, if not then you can sub once for 15$, let the sub run out, then note what annoys you in preferred mode and then click on someone's referral link to get a free subscription week with all the perks so that you could buy missing QoL elements using game's currency. Microtransactions aren't too obnoxious in my improved preferred mode, but I remember ftp being like, *click anywhere* -- "LOL nope, this feature's unavailable to you, El Cheapo, now only if you subscribed..." No idea if they ditched this when remaking the f2p.- The drinking thread
This reminds me of c0cktail I used to love when I was young, called "Titanic". Take a pint of beer, preferably stout or porter, but works with any really, and drop a shot glass onto its surface to float. Then fill it with vodka until it sinks.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Imperial Agent should be played last, because, a) best story, others might seem kinda lacking in comparison, b) after finishing other stories, you will likely ask yourself "Why and more importantly how a bunch of idiot space wizards with long term planning capabilities of an angry toddler (and tantrum prone like one as well) can make, let alone maintain an empire?" Well, Agent story asks those questions too, so you might be nodding in agreement along the plot. Disagree about Bounty Hunter and Jedi Consular though. Consular's story is kinda disjointed between Act 1 and 2 and the super uninspired voice acting does them disservice, but being a Jedi diplomat was fun, especially compared to that juvenile wish fulfillment fantasy that passes for the Jedi Knight's story. And I loved those catty diplomats who hanged around the ship and offered comments after every mission. (Also I find Shadow/Assassin DPS class very much fun to play). Bounty Hunter I will love always for their habit to disrespect space wizards and their hockey religions all the time. Even their ship looks like it's double flipping the bird:- Funny Stuff: The Funny Strikes Back

New Vegas. Again. With INT 2 (initially 1, but couldn't resist "the plant") and CHA 1 character (and yet who somehow resembles an actual not too hideous human being instead of potato head, got really lucky here). The hoops NPCs make you jump through when you can't schmooze your way past speech checks. 😡 Met some new people this way though. Discovered an annoying double cursor bug that got solved by getting a new mousepad. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, playing on that hardcore mode and Arcade died to snakepuppies, so instead of reloading I decided to double down and sacrificed Cass to the Van Graffs, also thinking of serving someone to the fellow cannibals White Gloves. I wonder if they'd prefer Boone or Veronica? 🤔 And yet, with all the dickery, long pig cuisine and stupiding, I still cannot force myself to do the Legion run. Wish I could understand how to play that bloody Caravan too.- Avowed - Reveal Trailer
It is very vague, super generic heroic fantasy trailer. "Thar be meanies, and we gunna fight'em!" Not much material to speculate on, save for "Sure looks like Skyrim". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯- The Metal Thread

Played "Life is strange", a Telltale-esque walking sim with even more "You choices matter...NOT, sucker!" attitude and the stupidest protagonist (save for Fallout 2's/Arcanum's low INT ones, even the idiot of New Vegas was smarter) I ever played, also the most irritating. Still, the game have some charm as the atmosphere reminded me of Philip K. ****'s works at places, albeit it was mostly unintentional -- I suspect characters were not supposed to be this unnatural and juuuust enough off to give vibes of creepy button-eyed doppelgangers from the Other World. Note to any gamemakers: do not try emulate teen slang. Thing's more mutable than flu virus and even if you somehow get it right without steering into cringe territory, you still date your game.- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Playing "Graveyard Keeper". It's kind of like black humour "Stardew Valley", except not really. Much less polished, extremely grindy until you research zombies and automate a lot of stuff, then it's just very grindy. And while you can farm veggies, it's just a side hobby because mainly you farm corpses and run corpse parts-based industry. Love game's casually blase attitude about desecrating the dead (and selling corpse burgers and beer during witch burning events) and how it somehow makes sense in that world. There's amnesiac skull buddy and I think I killed Geralt who expected easy side quest money. Love the voice acting in the game.- I don’t understand the logic here... food related
bugarup replied to YourHeadAsplode's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Deadfire, methinks. I didn't find the way to use my food either when I wanted useful buffs in SSS instead of default crap. 'course, inns IRL do not appreciate when you bring your own food, but I don't think this level of realism is really needed in the game.- R@nd0m V1d30 G@m3 N3w5
This was the dullest, most boring game ever that I yet somehow sunk 60 hours into. It's amazing how it managed to be so colorful yet completely lifeless. 🤔- What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Finishing Shadowruns, though I'll deffinitely do moar playthroughs of "Hong Kong" which is my favorite of the three. You guys were right, games good.- The TV and Streaming thread renewed
Same, although in my case it was partially because of hype backslash. Everyone around was like "OMG Firefly teh bestest thing on TV ", so I watched and was all, "Meh. Farscape did it better".- Funny Stuff: The Funny Strikes Back
- Why has PoE2 been sold so badly?
bugarup replied to local.man's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That was a bait. In order to understand what it means you'll have to read the whole essay.- Pictures of your games, lucky #13
A woman who's a nip too much into smoky eye make-up, too. Also, I think anime is the perfect visual medium for "Choose a boy, a girl or a neither" protag, because you can't tell either way.- General Celebrity deaths

Well, I'm sold. Not sold enough to get a Steam account though, but if this comes to GOG then absolutely.- The TV and Streaming thread renewed
If I ever felt a tiniest, slightest, most minuscule pang of conscience about ing TV stuff, this right here would be my justification. Well, that and "This content is locked in your region" bullsh†t. Whenever I see that thing, I feel irresistible urge to find and download locked content even if I had no initial interest to ever watch it. 🖕😠🖕- Still bad performance???
bugarup replied to experience01's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I've read this was related to number of savegame files, as in loading times increasing along with that number. It indeed got a little better for me when I wiped majority of saves. - Music: Listening and Sharing
