  1. Wasn't the same engine used for both Invisible War and Deadly Shadows? In IW the engine didn't seem very good, but was pretty OK in Deadly Shadows. It was better in DS, granted, but still felt too compromised. There's no reason these days to compromise the Thief franchise again with a horrible clunky consol-y game engine. Thief deserves better.
  2. I actually changed my mind. Don't wanna have vehicles in my bloody Fallout. Flip Flop!
  3. Except, that the TR engine, from what I've played, is complete garbage. Everything looks like plastic, and feels too console game-y. I refuse to believe that that engine, no matter how much they modify it, will power Thief 4. We will know on monday when we hopefully get to see first screenshots. Trust me, I'm really very emotional about this franchise, they better not screw it up.
  4. Old news, and not relevant anymore. You can't dumb down BGE any more, gameplay wise.
  5. Climbing/jumbing/falling. Exactly. That's what a Thief game is all about. I expect at least an engine that is programmed from scratch for the special needs of a worthy Thief sequal.
  6. That would end up into too much trivial micro management.
  7. It would also require a lot more thought how the maps are being layed out. In F3, there was plenty of "stuff" in your way that would just hinder reasonable buggy traveling.
  8. Are you asking if BS is free? I know that stuff costs money on Xbox Live, but you often get mappacks for free on the PC. But I don't expect that through the GfW channel.
  9. No there shouldn't be a skill required. Just a faster way for traveling. Again, I can do without it, but if the maps are being designed somewhat realistically, I expect some serious distances to be conquered.
  10. I liked it the way how Valve implemented the foot/buggy sessions in HL2 and Ep2. It was a well balanced act, so perhaps something similar could be done in NV. Get to conquer the deserts for a random fight, or just drive straight to the next village/vault.
  11. Michel Ancel is seriously a good designer (and artist). I hope they keep the light-hearted tone in BGE2 as well, and don't turn Jade into a silly Lara Craft action heroine.
  12. Vehicles (a'la buggy from HL2) is okay if the map size supports it. It's all a balancing act. I just don't want it to be about vehicles. Next, fanboys crie they want tanks and choppers too. Then we have a GTA wannabe, and that ain't fun!
  13. I'm afraid Thief 4 will use it too. In that case, it will suck hard.
  14. Exactly. Makes it even more sad that the 6 days in Fallujah game was cancelled. Not sure if that game would have handled the subject seriously, but that Konami pulls back because of some press just shows that freedom of artistic expressions gets kicked with the feet too often these days.
  15. I got bored with it pretty fast. Not because the content was bad, but because I grew so quickly tired of the NWN2 engine. Hope Obsidian never makes a D&D game again, except it would be Planescape!
  16. Still stabbing Wehrmachtssoldaten into the back [Velvet Assassin].
  17. What DRM does this DLC use? Where can I download it? Don't say GFW. And is it for free?
  18. 3DR may be dead, but that doesn't mean DNF is dead. Perhaps someone picks it up.
  19. Uh people, that's CG, not gameplay. Pretty rad stuff though. Am gonna buy that game anyways when it comes out, loved BGE1.
  20. Who the heck reads manuals these days? That's so last century... Anyways, I bet SEGA will pull off another Empire TW, being a Steamworks title and all.
  21. Focus is here the key, as always. Random stuff only bores me these days.
  22. And why do these special encounters need a three time bigger map?
  23. Since Take2 has the publishing rights, they just could buy the assets and let Irrational Games finish it.
  24. OMG WE HAVE TO WRITE EVERYTHING IN BIG LETTERS!!!111!1
