Let’s make Deadfire UI the bestest it can be
Night Stalker replied to Wormerine's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Me neither - I like it, this way we can clearly see what is in the slot we are considering putting the item into. -
Oh hai Aloth. Okay now I really want the Watcher to wrestle a wand off a svef dealer who Aloth has crossed, then later, when Pallegina cheats on him, kill himself with it. "You're lying I never hit you! You're TEARING ME APART, PALLEGINA!" [Aloth walks into blacksmith's store.] Aloth: Hi. Proprietor: Oh hi, Aloth. I didn't know it was you. [Grabs random package.] Here you go. Aloth: That's meee. How much is it? Proprietor: It'll be eighteen go-- Aloth: Here you go! Keep the change. Hi, doggy. Proprietor: You're my favorite customer. Aloth [deadpan]: Thanks a lot. Bye. Proprietor: Bye-bye. Iselmyr: I dona know why ya can't talk like a person, pointy-ear. Do I have to watch "The Room" in order to understand this joke? Or I'll just assume this is how bad the movie goes You just need to watch scene - you should be able to find the rest of the refereed scenes from there.

I can't do anything here unfortunately. It's an injustice that who discover only now the game can't have the cool items of the Fig campaign. Do you think can be a possibility to contact the support? Thanks! Since they are a part of the company that made the decision to close down the option to back the project, and instead begin the pre-order process, I don't think there is anything they can do for you.

If you played PoE1, then it would have created a folder on your computer where the save games were stored. When you uninstalled PoE1, that folder, and everything in it, was not deleted. When you install PoE2, I assume it will look for that folder and try to find an endgame save. This is however speculation, based on how other games tend to handle this, since I have seen no specifics on how PoE2 is going to find the save files.

There will not be full voice acting. However, the voice acting budget has been doubled (I don't have a quote, but I doubt this will translate directly to twice the amount of voice acting), and the writers have gotten better guidelines on how to mix voiced and non-voiced sections - there should be no more "[voiced bit] [unvoiced descriptive text] [voiced bit]".

Eye tracking?
Night Stalker replied to warg's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Honestly I don't think PoE or any game adjacent to the IE genre is a good fit for eye tracking - too much precision clicking. However I don't have any experience with the technology, so I would be interested in learning how precise it is. -
Wait.. What? I just bought bg2ee on android and that's better than i remembered... Dialogues are absolutely brilliant. Companions talk with each other, interact with you and with npcs... The interactions are far superior than poe 1 imho, and their personalities are developed a lot better (in poe, as in many other modern rpgs you get an npc and then you have to go through a wall of text having talking to them... While in bg2 the talking develop through the whole story). Some prersonal quests are easily forgettable (i.e. Keldorn) but some others are quite good. I can bet from now that dialogues wise bg2 will be still superior to poe (and that's decades later...) I think huang was referring to Baldur's Gate 1.

The deadfire team has most likely not begun actually producing the DLC, therefore there is no product, therefore there are no DLC keys. Once the game has been released, there will likely go a period of 2-4 months before Obsidian announces the first of the DLCs, and at that point they might give us the first DLC key, or they might wait until they closer to release of the first DLC. The same applies to the second and the third DLC. Don't worry, we are all going to get our DLC keys.

At this point only the Deadfire development team has any idea what the three DLC packs will contain and how big they are going to be. I would assume that combined they would add as much content as White March 1 and 2, but that is just a guess. Their release date is likewise unknown. I do however think it is safe to assume that they will contain new locations, quests, weapons, and things like that. Maybe new companions and sidekicks, but that is more speculative.

You can redeem the code you get from Obsidian on either the GOG website or in their Galaxy client. In either case the redeemed game is added to your library - you will have to wait for it to be released before you can begin the installation (I cannot remember GOG doing pre-installs). GOG also has an infrastructure for pre-orders (you can, for example, preorder Deadfire), so redeeming your key before the game is released is really a non-issue.
