wow... i never knew the damage was so big And the crown of the ridiculousity... D&D without gnomes, seriously WTF???
-
It's only good when it's good. this :D
-
It realy depends on your gaming preferences... Atm there is no single MMO which i tried and liked to play it more than few days... But in the past i played some and i enjoyed them... But at some point they all turned into doing the same thing over and over
-
Guild Wars? Guild Wars or Runes of Magic are best examples of free to play MMOs... You don't need to pay single dime ever if you dont want and you still can enjoy the game a lot
-
There are many free to play MMOs they just have different business model than monthly fee... But all so called "AAA ****" is always based on monthly fee business model
-
That's right, you didn't. But then I guess you don't have a point or I must have missed it, as you quoted and answered to a post directed to somebody complaining about MMO-capable NWN not being free anymore, or somesuch... So please, what was your point again? That even free to play games can offer similar or even better services than pay-to-play MMOs... EDIT: and that you cannot expect miracles from any game even if you pay monthly fee for it... some companies do awesome job at running MMOs and some publishers should just need to be arrested for fraud
-
Yeah, yeah. I once saw a flying pig. True story! Anyway, if you are not satisfied with the service offered or you believe it doesn't hold up to what they advertise, you can always *drum roll* cancel your subscription! And since MMOs usually offer one or two months free subscription with the retail package, you should be able to tell if the quality level is up to your standards BEFORE you ever pay a subscription fee. There's also a subtle difference between "professional and timely" and "unreasonable". Again, explain how PWs run their show better than company-run MMO servers. And if you can't, then perhaps you can explain why companies should offer the service FOR FREE? Where did i say MMOs should be for free?

You DID know that turning V-Sync off makes it pretty ok, right? (The game was still a borefest, though...) Turning off V-Sync did indeed solve the problem with the mouse, but at least on my system it turned on the horrible, horrible screen tearing. Funny that, I always turn it off and never get any tearing. What causes it anyway? i never experienced it aswell, but if i am correct it can happen if you have very powerful machine and you get ****loads of FPS (200+) on your 60Mhz LCD... Dont hit me if i am wrong
-
Major servers run by the publisher? Were those services guaranteed? Could you actually ask for reparation in case something (or somebody) screwed up? Were all those things delivered in a professional and timely manner? man are you so naive? i played different MMOs for more than 5 years and most of the things you mentioned never happened lol, not even the service was guaranteed with all the server crashes i experienced... Not even WoW was able to deliver many things in a professional and timely manner...

So NWN offered server maintenance, fulltime DM staff, constant development, testing and addition of new content, event organization etc "for free" before? In some cases Yes you just had to pick up good PW... and PW's have something what no MMO up to this day ever had... DM organized adventures...

All I can say is OWNED!!! lolololol
-
This, not to mention the DRM testing...
-
No it isn't false. Even EA sort of admitted it that they screwed up the mouse controls. It is false, because otherwise i couldn't enjoy my experience. Keyword is "some" if the keyword would be "all" then the statement would be false...

And how many people bought that? You and another guy? This is the dev forum, ask them? Obsidian are not developers of MoW
-
Yay so we can expect SecuROM and Online activation on Dragon Age, because you love it so much and you change their mind for sure on this one \o/
-
Actualy i should just go and play this again... i have it from the day of release, but never ever finnished it
-
Same for me, except WotLK, which was to easy mode for me and i lost half of my hairs due to the insane EU lag at evenings... so i cancelled and atm only waiting for Starcraft 2... Not planning to play anny MMO untill Blizz release their new, or until Final Fantasy XIV... will see how much time will have at that time
-
Obsidian still have this on their website... http://www.obsidian.net/games.html#aliens
-
That is the reason why people love Blizzard's game, even while everyone knows, that they have shallow stories and mediocre originality... The only game from blizzard that ever crashed on my PC was WoW after patch 3.0.1 and WotLK going live... Actualy about the stability the WotLK was first Blizzards game that failed (dont know about situation on NA servers, but on EU 3 month after release there was horrible instance lag and after 19.00 in-game time, you were unable to zone into any instances for 5-30 minutes... That was the time where WoW lost most of the subscribers, from which many came back again after Ulduar was released... The only other games which i had never problems was Square Enix games, but i am not much console gamer, so i do not know if console QA is much better than PC...

It's not worth to shut down MMOG once it's released unless operating costs or reputation damage is too high. This means that even if project was way over-budget, full of bugs and players fleeing by the masses, it's still usually worth to keep game running. That's what happend to EQ2, EVE, CoH and many more games. That makes no sense. Do you have any evidence to support your claims? My evidence is the fact that the games are still operating, I don't know a lot of companies that maintain a product unless it is making them money. Really, you just seem to be making stuff up to justify your dislike for MMO's. It's ok to dislike a successful genre. I don't enjoy most FPS games, but I'm not going to make up claims about their success. In some cases in bussiness ending the production might make bigger loss for the company than to continue with it... I am not saying that this is a case for any MMO, but in another type of business this is happening a sometimes... Continuing running the production = enough money to pay off debts, or break even with maintenace and salaries... Ending the production = spending a lot of money for stopping or changing the production with no income at all...

nope. the article (uh, rumor posting) simply said someone was working on an NWN MMO. NWN MMO is NWN3 as much as SW:TOR is KotOR 3 unfortunately
-
Not realy, man can enjoy MMO for very very long time, but most of the users pay only 1 subscription for 1 MMO and man can easy say that 75% of that people paying 1 subscription monthly are playing WoW... most of the MMO developers found that hard way... Age of Conan, Warhammer, Tabula Rasa etc etc... And the more MMOs on the market and growing budgets, it will be bigger and bigger risk to make an MMO which are still able to make profits... I am curious when developers notice that
-
If Cryptic is realy doing 3 MMOs at once, i realy question the final quality...
-
Having adventure and having adventure while killing people are too very different things.

As i said, after releaseing NWN2 Platinum, Bioware did the same with releasing NWN Diamond... No one blamed them everybody was happy...
