  1. No it isn't false. Even EA sort of admitted it that they screwed up the mouse controls. It is false, because otherwise i couldn't enjoy my experience. Keyword is "some" if the keyword would be "all" then the statement would be false...
  2. And how many people bought that? You and another guy? This is the dev forum, ask them? Obsidian are not developers of MoW
  3. Yay so we can expect SecuROM and Online activation on Dragon Age, because you love it so much and you change their mind for sure on this one \o/
  4. Actualy i should just go and play this again... i have it from the day of release, but never ever finnished it
  5. Same for me, except WotLK, which was to easy mode for me and i lost half of my hairs due to the insane EU lag at evenings... so i cancelled and atm only waiting for Starcraft 2... Not planning to play anny MMO untill Blizz release their new, or until Final Fantasy XIV... will see how much time will have at that time
  6. Obsidian still have this on their website... http://www.obsidian.net/games.html#aliens
  7. That is the reason why people love Blizzard's game, even while everyone knows, that they have shallow stories and mediocre originality... The only game from blizzard that ever crashed on my PC was WoW after patch 3.0.1 and WotLK going live... Actualy about the stability the WotLK was first Blizzards game that failed (dont know about situation on NA servers, but on EU 3 month after release there was horrible instance lag and after 19.00 in-game time, you were unable to zone into any instances for 5-30 minutes... That was the time where WoW lost most of the subscribers, from which many came back again after Ulduar was released... The only other games which i had never problems was Square Enix games, but i am not much console gamer, so i do not know if console QA is much better than PC...
  8. It's not worth to shut down MMOG once it's released unless operating costs or reputation damage is too high. This means that even if project was way over-budget, full of bugs and players fleeing by the masses, it's still usually worth to keep game running. That's what happend to EQ2, EVE, CoH and many more games. That makes no sense. Do you have any evidence to support your claims? My evidence is the fact that the games are still operating, I don't know a lot of companies that maintain a product unless it is making them money. Really, you just seem to be making stuff up to justify your dislike for MMO's. It's ok to dislike a successful genre. I don't enjoy most FPS games, but I'm not going to make up claims about their success. In some cases in bussiness ending the production might make bigger loss for the company than to continue with it... I am not saying that this is a case for any MMO, but in another type of business this is happening a sometimes... Continuing running the production = enough money to pay off debts, or break even with maintenace and salaries... Ending the production = spending a lot of money for stopping or changing the production with no income at all...
  9. nope. the article (uh, rumor posting) simply said someone was working on an NWN MMO. NWN MMO is NWN3 as much as SW:TOR is KotOR 3 unfortunately
  10. Not realy, man can enjoy MMO for very very long time, but most of the users pay only 1 subscription for 1 MMO and man can easy say that 75% of that people paying 1 subscription monthly are playing WoW... most of the MMO developers found that hard way... Age of Conan, Warhammer, Tabula Rasa etc etc... And the more MMOs on the market and growing budgets, it will be bigger and bigger risk to make an MMO which are still able to make profits... I am curious when developers notice that
  11. If Cryptic is realy doing 3 MMOs at once, i realy question the final quality...
  12. Having adventure and having adventure while killing people are too very different things.
  13. As i said, after releaseing NWN2 Platinum, Bioware did the same with releasing NWN Diamond... No one blamed them everybody was happy...
  14. Playing Final Fantasy II atm
  15. If it has been marked by PEGI as 18+ or by ESRB as M only, it is idiocy of the parent to buy his 10 years olds the game and not the idiocy of the developer of the game... I meant that the seller should be convicted for it. Then the clear idiot is the seller... Nazi ban in Germany did not stop many people in Germany to worship Hitler. Communism ban in Russia did not stop many people in Russia to worship Stalin... Banning all drugs did not stop abusing of drugs anywhere... If parents do not educate their children enough, they will always have access to Hitler, Stalin, Cocaine etc... same goes with computer games... EDIT: The right ban should be to not sell PEGI 18+/ESRB M only to kids... Punnishable by high financial penalties to sellers...

  17. If parent fails at educating their children, the law does not help... If you ban making of/selling games in your country, young children without parental guidance will just download the games for free from pirates... And you can bet, that because of the teenage mentality, they will have access to much more of that stuff after the ban... Because nowadays everything what is forbidden to them by parents or law is coolest thing in the world, and bragging about it in public = more rl-peen... As an example, before 1989 we had banned all Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Star Wars, Porn and Alien movies as most of the horror movies in my country (thanks to the communists) but the movies could be found everywhere... I remember how we had fun at age of 9-10 running around different friends and watching Schwarzenegger and horror movies all day long, because it was so cool...
  18. I think this way too. This don't mean I wouldn't defend myself or my family but it'd still be wrong. Every soldier has a choice not to kill but in some cases it might cost their own life. Takes a lot of guts stand in front of the firing squad, just because you refused to kill someone. Self-sacrifice is interesting thing - games should explore that idea bit more. About this german censorship law. If you'd ask me about this 20 or even 10 years ago, I would have been strongly against it but now I'm not so sure. Minors playing all kind of violent games and surfing whatever recent *shock* website do make me bit nervous. Parents or teachers rarely have any idea or means to stop it. I'd damn glad there weren't internet or camera phones back in my youth. While i agree with you, i absolutely disagree with censorship laws like that... The parents should be responsible for their children behaviour alone... I am 30 years old.. I played Wolfenstein when i was 12, Doom and Mortal Kombat when I was 14 and i played them 24/7... Up to this day i have never had the idea to even hit someone, neither kill anyone, or even hit my dog... I had few friends who played Mortal Kombat 2 even at younger age... And none of them became bully, none of them is hitting their girlfriends, none of them are beating their animals... Because our parents have teach us what is wrong and what is right... You also know that these old games aren't really very violent, in a senze that they're just a bunch of ugly pixels? Modern games are much more emotionally involved, with all the agressive PR campaigns, the swearing, the realism, the pop culture references, and the

  20. Sure it is. I lived alone for the first time when I was in 18, and my step-father made sure I had a handgun. He explained that in Maine, it was legal to kill someone who'd broken into your house, but if they lived, it was possible they'd sue you. Therefore, if I shot them and they tried to escape, I should drag them back into the house and finish them. Northeasterns are such practical people. I seriously hope for you, that this was meant as a sarcasm...
  21. Killing another person is NEVER ok!!! Glorifying soldiers to promote killing is same bull**** like glorifying Bundy or Mason...
  22. There are different studies aswell... http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/01...es-violence.ars http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2007/11...-and-gaming.ars This is the most interesting http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/02...-a-bad-idea.ars And this is my favourite :D http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2009/02...ast-feeding.ars
  23. So looks like you never heard of NWN Diamond NWN diamond edition included both expansions and all of the official module packs released at the time. But what it did added compared to NWN Platinum edition In your words adding 3 premium modules and making totaly new edition for full price was outrageous... OMG HOW COULD BIOWARE DO THAT!!!
  24. So looks like you never heard of NWN Diamond
  25. And yet AFAIK after all these years no one can run a simple test like the one I outlined earlier in the thread to prove that Starforce burns up drives. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if such a test was run but the results were never released as the desired result was not attained... Or the exact results could be attained only through reverse engineering (as you might know, reverse engineering of copyrighted IP is a crime in most of the "civilised" countries) or any other means which could infringe on the copyright of the owner of the Starforce IP, so such tests could be ordered only by the court and afaik no order for such a test was issued... I bet we would see some evidence like this at people vs Ubisoft lawsuit, which was issued in 2007 for 5 million $, but UbiSoft rather settled the lawsuit and abandoned Starforce...
