No love for the next Blizzard MMO? How did they make FFXI work with a controller? Is the combat slower? I pumped enough money into Blizzard already Time for change is at hand for me The combat was very similar to FFXII, not the same but similar... I never played it with controler, but SE was always console company, so i would not think that combat at consoles sucked... I must confess that i did not liked FFXI PC controls a lot, but it might be because i spent 3 years doing WoW when i played FFXI for a while... And WoW had realy awesome UI modding capabilities (original WoW UI kinda sucked for me aswell )... never searched for FFXI UI mods though

Well, I wasn't intimately familiar with the workings of FFXI. How many people do you see playing FFIV? 2 million? 4 Million? FFXI has steady subscriber numbers around 500,000... i bet SE has target to surpass these numbers... i dont think they do have such crazy plans like AoC and Warhammer had (being WoW killer) they are targeting specific audience and i bet they will turn into profit with few hundred thousand loyal customers... FFXIV will be totaly different MMO than any others i played so far (i did not played many so i bet more experienced MMO player would find similar games), it will be even totaly different game than FFXI (though still similar )... And what i love best, it will not be just copy of WoW... The closest MMO from what i have read will be SW:TOR or the SW: Galaxies before the patch which made 3/4 of all subscribers leave the game... The game will be focused more on SP experience (FFXI was mainly focused on group experience), but it will have enough content for group players. It will be very heavy story oriented game (unlike most of the MMOs, which offer only lore, but you dont feel as part of the story or even world)... The game will be skill based like EvE or Darkfall are atm (no levels)... yes On both accounts? what you mean? FFXI has servers shared for people having PS2, Xbox 360 and PC versions... They do even have one of the best communication methods, where you can from in-game menu easily communicate with people who do not speak same languages as you do... The system automaticaly translates it...

That's pretty weird since FADE is supposed to work by having certain sectors on the DVD marked. You don't get a DVD with Steam, so one would think that FADE would be useless. Damn developers not being upfront about their crappy DRM, they own the customers at least that. it might look for modified original files... which might happen that if you are unlucky and get some virus before you notice it, your game is gone aswell...

That doesn't make it a single player game. While I don't like DRM, I think that this actually has some benefits, unlike the limited activation thing. Such as persistent stats and whatnot. the stats are not worth the loss of the ability to play it anytime you want, even if your ISP has some technical fault...

Having to be online to play is better than having a limited number of activations. Until they turn off the server... software with limited activation can be used after that, untill you reinstall your PC, or you use some less conventional means (you know what i mean ) But online only Single player game??? nothing will help you ever unless you are so pro that you buy yourself a computer and set up there fully functional cracked virtual server so you can play the game after big shutdown... i never thought i would say it but i take limited activation game over online only any day... in our country it is legal to circumvent DRM for product you purchased legaly... I somehow doubt that this won't get cracked, and you won't be needing a virtual server for that. Also, It's not a single player game. You can play it single player, but it also has co-op and vs modes, it's like Left 4 Dead. It might be very strange for you, but C&C games were always Single Player games for me

That's so 2008, man. What new game has limited activations? Even Bioware dropped the DRM on Dragon Age. Over here PC games cost around $50-$60 and console games cost $90-$100.(converted) DA is not released yet... And with the current stunt pulled by EA on C&C 4 i would not be surprised if DA will be "online only" aswell... Ubisoft is in making of new "antipiracy measure" aswell... i am realy curious what that will be... I realy wish it will be something different than new sort of DRM mechanism... but i am realy sceptic about it...

Yeah I buy all my games in the UK by post... Because even old games like Metal Gear Solid 4 or Devil May Cry 4 still cost here about 2500 old SKK (aprox 82 new EUR) which is totaly retarded and people are still wondering why is piracy so common in ex-communistic countries...
