  1. Because like it or not, FFX-2 has the best battle system out of all Final Fantasies... I have played FFXIII for like 20 minutes so far, but atm i am still liking the FFX-2 battle system more... we will see if that changes after i get much deeper in FFXIII gameplay...
  2. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are so powerful hardwares, that good enough emulation will not be available for the next 10+ years...
  3. He was asking about state involved into private business And China is a prime example of state running businesess and having ****loads of profits...
  4. Ask the chinese government how it is possible to them to make it that way, and still be the richest country to which every western country owes trillions of dollars
  5. lol way to ignore the facts. China isn't communist! Many companies make poor long-term business decisions for short term gain, thus hurting you, the consumer! Tobacco companies purposefully suppressed the truth about its dangers for decades! Uhh... I've actually never had a Toyota, so no negative effects there... And your beloved Commies tend to blow the brains out of those who reveal the evil of their ways... When companies do that, let me know. Looks like you never heard of RIAA...
  6. out of all the FF games i played FFX > FFX-2 > FFVII > FFIX > FFV > FFIV > FFXII > FFVI > FFVIII > FFI > FFII let the flamewar begin mwahahahahaha
  7. Thank you, that was exactly what i was trying to say... blame my english as a 3rd language to not explain myself good enough...
  8. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/09/technology/09aol.html here is the full story about how a person was located based only on anonymous searching trends...
  9. You didn't read the part where it said that the investigation was carried out with permission from the patients? Gfted at least posted a specific news item to make his case. You are just fearmongering. Any installation you don't consent to is illegal. Search engines can only detect patterns in search trends, but they cannot track the activites of individual users. As for privacy scandals on social networks... maybe you should be more careful about whom you give access to your personal data? Just a thought. Then check this out http://www.youtube.com/user/karansri27#p/u The Virtual Revolution - The Cost of Free Look all the parts... in one of them you can see how it was possible to locate the exact person with the help of AOL anonymous patterns in search trends it was published in some of the US news aswell... EDIT: it's in part 5 starts at 4:10... user 4417749...
  10. ...and closed eyes
  11. Seems innocent enough, right? Not so much. I think this is an excellent example of how anytime, anywhere, the government can overstep its boundries and mine every last detail of your life. Do you seriously think, that for example Microsoft and Google cannot trace you with even bigger accuracy, just by the things you type into google or bing search forms??? Or any other big corporation where you just filled out the registration and allowed them to install any kind of application into your computer??? And that they never oversteped it? just browse for some Google Buzz or Facebook privacy scandals... And you'll se how you and your privacy is absorbed and abused from your computer just to make more revenue for someone without you even knowing about it...
  12. Games are luxury items so it's no wonder that they take big hit on worldwide depression (or recession if you accept the virtual GPD growth tricks). This brings us back to original argument - Would people buy significantly more games if piracy wasn't possible? Based on PS3 info and consumer behaviour during this depression, I'd say no. Yes, there are rich bastards who pirate everything just because they can but based on the data they can't be the largest group. Yes, that's exactly what i do think aswell, the people just dont conjure the money out of air... if their yearly budget to gaming is 250USD/year atm (including the money which they get back from selling games 2nd hand), their gaming budget will be still 200USD per year after piracy and secondhand sales are eliminated... which will mean less game sales in total due to elimination of possibility to get some money back from secondhand sales... luxury items are not needed for human life, they are nice bonus, but when you put enough of hurdles in the way to the nice bonus, the bonus just stops to be worth the hassle at some point... @cronicler... for me SC2 is in grey area aswell, going more towards no buy area atm... i am not going to play it competitivly so when i waited 10 years to see it released i can wait another 3 until it gets into BattleChest category... so at that point i might be persuaded to buy it... and hopefully 3 years will be enough to see some group to remove this sily DRM aswell, if Blizz does not remove it by themselves... Anyway... anyone knows if Ubi's servers are still down???
  13. If Krezack would hire you or asked you to do the dirty work for him, he would be same or more guilty than you, same with the corporations who hire/pay government to do the dirty work for them
  14. Krezack, the DRM for SC2 might be very similar to this at least for multiplayer But still no one knows how Single Player campaign will be handled...

  16. The article i linked is not only about PC gaming... It's about all gaming including consoles... even Wii is 40% down compared to february 2009... people have less money, they buy less stuff... giving them more hurdles in their way to spent their cash on games does not help to get into black numbers in yearly earning reports...
  17. I am not sure, if it was the main reason, but it indeed fueled the decay of human behaviour and thinking...
  18. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the people in court do not give a **** about mediocrity of gameplay, bugs and glitches... They do care only about big $ numbers... And MW2 is atm still the most succesful thing in all entertainment combined... It still doesn't change the fact, that's it **** game though as much as i am FF fan FFXIII will not beat MW2... and SC2... hard to say... it's easier to shoot **** than to do micro but you know... if every WoW player buys a copy, it will conquer all charts...
  19. The biggest difficulty to make a profit is the current financial crisis not the pirates... http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/27556/A...ins_For_PS3.php making it more difficult for your customers to play your games is an economical suicide... People think now 10times over when deciding which game they should buy
  20. Obviously the Ubisoft top-managment didn't see it comming Else they would never come up with this kind of **** That's what you get when you let your company directed by someone who thinks that sending emails is a top IT achievment
  21. Yes... i loved that you could craft a party of your choice, and the overland map... Last time i did have that feeling was in Icewind Dale 2 the story is ofc not so deep as MotB, but imo it's still worth getting it, just for the fun of rolling a party of 4 svirfneblins who gets owned by the 1st group of enemies
  22. I always prefered Sony consoles over their competition, because i like more japanese games than western games, but i am wondering if this realy becomes reality in the end... http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/27563/A..._127M_Units.php
  23. Socialism in a heartbeat. Assuming it is democratic socialism. Otherwise anarchy, since it'd be easier to eventually form a government from an anarchy then it would be to regain democracy in a totalitarian state. Human nature says, that if you have everything handed to you on golden plate, you do not need democracy Why would you care about who is ruling over you, if he gives you everything you want and need without asking questions? What if he doesn't give you everything you want and need? He asked for maximum freedom or maximum care... in hypothetical maximum freedom, you can do anything you wish, without fear of prosecution... in hypothetical maximum care, you get anything you want because the leader cares... but that gives a nice paradox what if you would ask of your leader in maximum care community to grant you maximum freedom?
