  1. To quote another conversation I had about this: "Yes, I agree that a better demonstration could have been made (if I were him I would have asked for a random volunteer that way there's no impetus to troll and the person consented for their information to be posted - or even better yet the guy could have data-mined himself). The way things are currently I think that the blog post, and the comments that provide more information, should be purged and possible legal action taken if it is found that the intent was to harass. The last part is going to be hard unless there is a clear "go forth and cause mayhem for this dude named X" type command and I'm not seeing it on the initial post (I've not read all the comments, and I'm not planing to, but something might be there). However I have no sympathy for those harassing and hope that they're held accountable for their actions." And yes i could agree with this person oppinion, BUT... the original poster did nothing illegal, he just googled for publicly available information, and posted them on a forum. The people who are doing the harassment of the person, based upon the information they got from internet are doing illegal stuff... That's a big difference...
  2. to further prove my point, i am quoting one post from ArsTechnica forums... edit: The kids name was not printed in any gaming manual btw...
  3. I wouldn't, and that's why i do not post on any forums under my real name... I do not want any asshat to datamine all information about me which can be obtained by legal means and post it there, here or anywhere else on TEH INTERNETZ!!11ONE Are you condoning and supporting the actions of the guy that did? (I also didn't ask you, but hey, since you've volunteered). Be honest (even though it's the internet and you can just make **** up as you want): What are your thoughts about the guy sharing the information about the Blizzard Employee? Do you feel vindicated like he is "fighting the good fight?" Because you can just as easily get this guy's name from the instruction manual. But I have a feeling it'd be different if THAT is where someone found his name.... Wouldn't it? He did not done anything illegal, he just searched through publicly available information, based on the Real Name posted on the gaming forums. Therefore as i said, i never use my real name on any gaming forums... You can wreak havoc without breaking any law, and no one will ever try or force you to stop, therefore i think the RealID requirement for gaming forum posting is one of the most retarded moves in gaming industry, which is even beating the Ubisoft newest DRM by big margin. edit: and yes, i do think it is "good fight" because he just pointed out how any real name can be easily abused in a few minutes, thus showing the biggest flaw of this idea... That his name is available in the gaming manual is irrelevant to this discussion.
  4. I wouldn't, and that's why i do not post on any forums under my real name... I do not want any asshat to datamine all information about me which can be obtained by legal means and post it there, here or anywhere else on TEH INTERNETZ!!11ONE
  5. Ok, i found this video linked to one of the discussion about realID I do not know why, but I can easily imagine few people being able to do the same ****
  6. And I guarantee you that some russian or chinese teenager seeking a way to get bonus to his pocket money, would easily get all your information from the "secure" web with proper targeted datamining, if he thought you are worth the trouble...
  7. You're joking, right?
  8. Let's look what some historical person has to say about this news...
  9. And I really didn't think we'd ever see a return of this franchise (Or could it be for some sort of re-release...?) I would just say, they are either aiming for PSN classic rerelease in these regions or they are planning DS remake...
  10. In cataclysm, you'll not get any new talents
  11. Hmm but i still do not believe that Cataclysm will be the final expansion
  12. The feelings of gaming journalist about two E3's most expensive shows http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/06...spend-at-e3.ars
  13. Is it even developed for PC? no one knows i realy hope so... althought i am more console gamer nowadays...
  14. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ancel-us...-make-bg-and-e2 Beyond Good and Evil 2 still in development I just hope, until it gets released Ubisoft drops the retarded DRM
  15. You want him to play Linoheart after that lot? Isn't that rather like having someone wash down foie gras with Vimto? Hmm i do not know... I played Lionheart aswell, but I think it's not THAT bad... I would not hesitate recommend it... It's not the best of the best games, that's true, but you'll be missing out imo
  16. sorry dude, but i am well know geography police in my surroundings I just had to do it *hugs*
  17. I do not want to dissapoint you, but Ireland is completely different country
  18. Or by initially just having a maximum of 1-2 hours to play /day due to work, social circle and gf/fiancee/wife, even without the kids. When even the shortest RPG starts stretching out into months just due to lack of time, you tend to be unwilling to spend a night or two grinding the same spot. You just completely described my normal playtime, and still i was able to manage to get Dissidia and Final Fantasy XII into 230+ hours played time
  19. Many people are saying that it could be some Japanese Megahouse... from what of I read in comments, the reasoning for that sounds pretty plausible as well... My bet is on EA thought, but i might be blinded with hatred towards them
  20. The only real problem with this definition is that some people always "know" for a fact that it's in fact the game that's broken. +1 But yes Morgoth gave very good explanation and a perfect example of a challenging game Demon's Soul Black Edition will be soon comming to my humble PS3, and i already can't wait to get finaly humiliated by a computer game \o/
  21. I play only on hardest difficulty... the only game in last 10 years that i was unable to finnish without trouble on 1st playthrough was The Witcher... The difference between challenging and frustrating is mostly the AI... (let's take FPS as an example) if the hardest difficulty is made the way, that your opponenst instakill you with headshot before you notice him, it's failed frustrating AI... If the hardest difficulty is made the way like it was in Doom 3, it's challenging... Yes i know that Doom 3 was for most people sucky game, because they had to use flashlight - lol at them - but the AI of monsters was one of the best i've ever seen in a game, and i realy hope, they will use the same or enhanced for Rage...
  22. unfortunately neither the name, neither the logo, does not create any positive vibes in me
  23. yay... so now we can get more goldselling spam even from some random created battle.net accounts!!!
  24. I bet there will be soon after release LAN crack for SC2 and D3, so hopefuly we will be able to play over hamachi with friends without any social crap...
