  10. I think we are speaking about 2 different things... so we shall stop, before we confuse each other even more
  11. i was referring to the price of the ps3 at launch, along with its launch titles. edit: and i hate online gaming, i assume you were talking to someone else? but who cares about launch titles now? i certainly do not...
  12. Hmm I am still loving to play Sony games... Online gaming is not everything... you know...
  13. 13) The company gets hit by a meteor. I didnt realize we were talking about mindless paranoia. Carry on. Actualy 3 of this already happened to me with my Windows XP, so I am speaking from my own experience... Last time when I inserted new SATA drive into my PC, the Windows refused to start unless I reactivated... But comparing customer support of MS with EA is like comparing hotness of Jessica Alba with Kadaffi...
  14. You forget to add 4) You own the game for long time and you purchase new computer and you want to activate it, but cannot due to company went belly up. 5) You own the game for long time and you purchase new computer and you want to activate it, because the company does not support the game anymore. 6) You own the game for long time and you purchase new computer and you want to activate it, but cannot due to the servers being offline for a 3 weeks, due to hackers owning your security measures. 7) You own the game for long time and you reinstalled Windows and you want to activate it, but cannot due to company went belly up. You own the game for long time and you reinstalled Windows and you want to activate it, because the company does not support the game anymore. 9) You own the game for long time and you reinstalled Windows and you want to activate it, but cannot due to the servers being offline for a 3 weeks, due to hackers owning your security measures. 10) You own the game for long time and you install new drivers for MB/GPU/Whatever but due to bug the DRM thinks, thinks you are using new PC, and you want to activate it, but cannot due to company went belly up. 11) You own the game for long time and you install new drivers for MB/GPU/Whatever but due to bug the DRM thinks, thinks you are using new PC and you want to activate it, because the company does not support the game anymore. 12) You own the game for long time and you install new drivers for MB/GPU/Whatever but due to bug the DRM thinks, thinks you are using new PC and you want to activate it, but cannot due to the servers being offline for a 3 weeks, due to hackers owning your security measures. And I can continue with more probable reasons as you mentioned above why any phone home activation sucks ass...
  15. The part, where you install your game into your newly purchased computer and you cant start to play because your game cannot be activated, and therefore is unplayable, due to mentioned reasons? Or you missed the news how it was with Portal 2 on PS3 where you could play PC version of the game after one time activation, but actually was unable to activate it for 3 weeks after the purchase?
  16. Well, that assumes that you lose your internet connection more often than your discs. I've had 10 minutes of noticeable downtime in the past year, so that reverses the situation for me. My first game is from 1987 on ATARI 800XL. I still do know where I have it stored, if I would ever find a need to play that game ever again, and I found that my old ATARI is still working... Never ever ever lost a disc/manual/whatever you needed to use to be able to play that game... So yes, I am losing my internet connection more often then I do lose this stuff... All you need to do is have a better system at storing your hobbies, and never ever allow to touch them by your parents/girlfriends/wives/pets/kids/sisters/brothers/aliens... This always worked for me...
  17. Hell no, online activation is one time only. With a disk check you can lose the disk and never play again. Though ponder for a minute what happens if the company belly-ups? Or someone hacks their activation servers... And man would think, that humankind would learn something from PSN outtage...
  18. Seriously... If JRPGs are stagnating, WTF are doing all the western FPSs???... All look same, play same, most of the time, they have even same shallow story behind, and you finish them bored after 6 hours of gaming... The guy is whining, that Square should make games with already known characters... How the **** is this supporting innovation he wants to bring back into JRPGs??? Or does he want to see new Crisis Core released every year, just because it has Cloud in it? I personally do not want to see that happen, and I must say, I pretty much liked Crisis Core the first time I played it but I would say it was a little bit more than mediocre game... And I do personaly think that FFVII remake would be the worst idea ever, because after 15 years in development and millions of dollars spent, everyone would be complaining about it, that it does not play the same as original... Games like Dissidia are fine, because they bring you the know characters once in a year or two, but the new stories have to be told... With the exception of Final Fantasy IX-2... If nothing else, THIS is the THING Square-Enix have to make before the end of the World as we know it EDIT: And about FFXIII-2... Can please anybody enlighten me, what is wrong with making a sequel for a game which "As of May 2010, the game shipped 5.5 million copies worldwide, becoming the fastest-selling title in the history of the series."?
  19. Disc Check > Online Activation at any time...
  20. I will wait for Enhanced Edition then...
  21. Speaking of Witcher 2 on disk... Does anyone have it? What kind of DRM it has?
  22. Anybody here who likes to play JRPGs have ever tried Hyperdimension Neptunia (original Japanese name Neptune) on PS3 It got very very mixed reviews, but from what I read in Japan it was pretty successful ... Thinking about purchasing it, but could use some recommendations from people with good taste in games, witch I think is this forum full of...
  23. I really do not know, when I played it last time, it seemed to me even more linear than FFXIII... and I did noticed that I still hate Squall now, like I was hating him 10+ years ago, when I played FFVIII for the first time... Different people, different opinions...
