  1. And I just hope, that no one takes over, and we will finally see at least some research how piracy affect sales. I am just tired, how everyone blames their incompetence to deliver quality products on pirates and used games markets.
  2. DOOM - May 13 - 2016 NSFW
  3. well the only point of the MGSV online part are the microtransactions. for Konami. for players, no point at all.
  4. the only newsletter worth being subscribed to
  5. Early access thingie has arrived to GOG. With handpicked games, so we probably do not see the typical Steam Greenlight Garbage. http://www.gog.com/news/introducing_games_in_development Called Games in Development.
  6. I can only recommend to go back to it. I started the NG+ after 2 and half year long break, and I have enjoyed the game while I was playing story. Even though the story went WTF sometimes, because of Asbel being holier than a pope's poop The grind for Titles and Trophies became tedious, but well, I needed a break from Gran Turismo 6 badly, and you could do some grinding with Auto Mode as well. Need to buy me PS4. I have Tales of Zestiria already at home, but no console yet O.o
  7. I have acquired my another Platinum on PS3. This time Tales of Graces f. I have started this game in May 2013, and it took me in total almost 337 hours to get the trophy and 100% completion O.o Hmm hard to pick what to play next I think I will just finish Septerra Core from my GOG backlog, and later I might go for Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory or Atelier Rorona trophy plays. We'll see. I still have very big backlog, and I want to definitely get Platinum from Star Ocean 4 before Star Ocean 5 hits the shelves.
  8. I think it's both, silly hype and more rational thinking as we age
  9. How Ubisoft is killing one of its games again
  10. Is there anybody left from the Baldur's Gate days now? Janitor? I bet all the decent people, like Janitors, left the company right the first day after EA merger :-P
  11. I trust Kickstarter and Indies now more than AAA as well, but very picky myself. I am guilty of preordering Some Japanese games on PS3 and PS4 though. But so far, I was disapointed only once. With Lightning Returns. And with that record, Final Fantasy XV will be probably my last Square Enix game, because I really do not like where they are heading, with their games. Namco Bandai, Tecmo Koei, and Nippon Ichi have still my trust (Tales of..., Atelier, Neptunia and Souls games are enough to keep me occupied for the next few years). Besides that, I fell in love in Paradox games, which will occupy me as well. Everything else, what I need is on GOG )
  12. Darkest Dungeon ninja released on GOG! https://www.gog.com/news/release_darkest_dungeon
  13. False King was for me pain in the ass for the NG+ as well, I was unable to kill him for a long long time and I quit beause of it the game for 3 and half years. Then I found a way how to get him. I have stopped to lock him, and just rolled a lot and used Homing Soul Arrows and drank spices and sometimes used grass. I needed about 30-40 minutes of practice, to learn that properly and Cling Ring helped me a lot. On NG++ I needed only 4 attempts to get him down. \o/ I have watched few videos and streams with melee classes, and I really can see why your friend would rage on some bosses. I know, for sure, I would have some big issues with my melee and rolling skills with few of the bosses and raging a lot :D
  14. Or you could buy games from the developers, which still did not fall into mediocrity, and you could fill the gaps much better I really do not understand some of you. You people are complaining a lot about the state of AAA, and you are still buying AAA stuff, well yes there are some exceptions like Fallouts or Wolfensteins, but I am reading all the time how you ended up disapointed by their latest release, but still rushing to preorder their newest ****, despite your disapointment. *shakes head*
  15. Yeah Morion Blade + Rat Ring is crazy, but unfortunately, I suck to much to stay alive with 30% HP So I have used Kris Blade +5 + Ring of Magical Sharpness combo. Maneater on first time was for me like WTF, I put him down to 30% and then another one appeared and I went for Archstone again
  16. Well, just to kill all the special Black Phantom NPCs and some levels, because I needed Friend's Ring Hehehe. Also i forgot to ask, Flamerlurker wasn't giving you any trouble on NG+,++ or NG+3? It was alaways the hardest boss for me. Flame Lurker is absolutely easy as pie for Caster Build. I was actually disappointed, when I found how to cheap shot him (. All you need to do is cast Cloak right after you walk into fog, run behind him from right side (when running on left side he can detect you sometimes), cast Homing Soul Arrow, run to save spot, cast Cloak again, and repeat... I remember confronting him for the first and second time. He pretty much instantly teared my ass. I found this cheap tactics only on NG++, so first two kills were pretty hard for me, and with Flase King Allant and Old Monk, they are the only three bosses, which could me put to RAGE while playing :-D Anyway I have finally achieved today the Platinum Trophy, when I learned last two miracles today. Right at the start, I have decided to not use the duping exploit, and it was well worth the fun and challenge ) The save says 197 hours played, and last time I have checked I had more than 700 deaths O.o I bet, that I went well over 800 :'( It is so far the most challenging Platinum, which I have achieved and 3 years ago, when I was stuck on False King, I have never thought, that I could get it. \o/
  17. Well, just to kill all the special Black Phantom NPCs and some levels, because I needed Friend's Ring
  18. Just finished NG++ of Demon's Souls. To my surprise, False King Allant was down just after 4 attempts! Looks like I learned how to play this game better in last 7 days Anyway, the biggest challenge for me this time was Black Phantom Satsuki. But in the end I was able to put him down after few attempts. Right after that, the Spider Demon, because it was my second boss in NG++ and I was still very rusty with controls and completely forgot most of the game mechanics. Lost a lot of souls there, but in the end, the game became after that little bit more relaxing I decided to get all the game drops, and was successfull with it. I was missing some vendor weapons and armors and the very rare Gargoyle Crossbow. But after hour or two, I have successfully acquired it Now onto my last NG(3+). For Platinum Trophy, I will need to kill 8 bosses and not 7 as I thought, I will need to rescue Saint Urbain in 4-2 as well. So I will probably go for Adjudicator as my second boss this time. Cheers \o/
  19. They even confesed to it, in one of their interviews. :-P The biggest pirates in the EE, were the first people who opened the first official games shop in the region as well.
  20. I seriously doubt that. It is very hard to believe, but 2015 is really the most quiet year in piracy/anti-piracy debate on this board Probably, that;s because GOG released to much awesomeness from kickstarters, that people simple did not have time to complain about big publishers and their DRM sillyness:P
  21. You could not buy the non-shareware version of Doom in East Europe, because something like credit cards did not exist at that time here among average populace.
  22. That's the part of my statement you take issue with, really? Every widespread phenomena has some cultural and social importance, all you need to do to get that is to live in a country where piracy runs rampant. Heck, there are countries which would apply mods on a game, rebrand it and sell it under a different name - now that's genuinely harmful piracy, but denying its cultural impact on countries where it actually happens would be a little silly. Anyway, the bit of my statement you actually should have taken issue with is the bit which goes on about *what* kind of importance that is, in other words, opening up to western market before it even properly arrived, because that's based purely on anecdotal evidence and my own experience. Edit: We would never talk about Doom in school if a classmate didn't bring a floppy (floppies?) with a copy from his uncle, which then quickly spread around. Majority of the games which formed my childhood were pirated - not that we knew that'S even a thing back then. And a big part of early purchases from me and my friends were based on excitement for next installments of those games or at least games which were similar. I moved around quite a lot when I was a kid/teenager so I experienced more than a single collective where this happened. Naturally, I might have just gotten lucky and what I experienced might not have been an indicative of majority at all. Actually this is what happened in every east european country. Every gamer was a pirate at some point, because there were no shops, which sold games here. After the shops started to open and they got older with proper jobs. they just stopped to pirate and start to spent ****loads of money on games. The guy which had 15 years ago the biggest collection of pirated games, that I have ever seen has now one of the biggest Steam Libraries I have ever seen. Like it or not, piracy in youth opens first the heart, and in middle age it opens the wallet big time. That is a fact, which I have experienced in my surrounding with almost everyone, who have ever played a pirated game, when I was a kid.
  23. I don't see this as bad news. I pay for the games I play, so I'm also paying for the pirated copies that unscrupulous people play for free. More money to the game developers => better profitability => lower risk for investing in new games. One of the reasons, why you have so many Steam sales, is the direct competition with piracy. No piracy = no sales. Just look at the console market... There are almost no sales on digital downloads compared to PC games.
  24. Once upon a time, one very wise man said, that Patience is a Virtue... He was very wise indeed...
  25. After 3 and half years, I have booted up again Demon's Souls. I quit the game, because I was unable to kill False King Allant on New Game + and Dark Souls came out. I spent first 2 hours in getting back into the controls and gameplay. I have started to go against some easier enemies and then went back to False King. First attempt took me about 5 seconds, and got raped badly (sorry but there is no better word describing how that first attempt against him looked like ). Well, despite that very bad outcome, I have decided to not give up until the bad boss drops dead. It took me more than 20 attempts, but he got finaly his ass kicked! My quest for non-glitch-abusing Platinum Trophy of this game can continue Today after long and perilous experiences in NG++ I have finaly received Friend's Ring, and only Foe Rings missing now for the Rougue Trophy. I had to kill 8 black phantoms to get my character to Pure White Character Tendency, to get this ring, because as always, my first playthrough was done without any walkthrough, nor spoilers. And looks like I have killed two innocent NPCs during it Without Duping, for Platinum it is needed minimum of NG++ and 7 bosses in NG+3. The Hardest for me will be King Allant again and Old Monk on NG+3, we'll see how it goes, but I really love the difficulty and challenge of the game! Man have to really put some effort to learn the game, and I really love that!!! To bad, that not many games with such a rewarding gameplay are realeased nowadays
