No they are not. Most F2P games with lootboxes have T ESRB or PEGI 12 rating. Some even lower. The belgian research was funded by universities, so it is not some bollocks research made by few guys like the one lawyer who wanted to ban GTA5. Also many european researches funded by government bodies have found no impact of violence in video games on population as general. Most of them have even found, that people playing violent games are less violent in real life, because these game allow them to let the "steam" off and be more relaxed in everyday life.

And this is how EA self-regulates the gambling mechanics in their games due to BF2 backlash. /sarcasm off https://www.astutegaming.com/single-post/EASPORTSUFC3BETA How could a single person still think, these greedy ****s can regulate themselves without government intervention, when they release just few days later a system, which is allegedly even worse than the BF2 p2w loot box ****... Not even 3 billion loss in shares did show them, this might not be the brightest idea to pull this **** again in such a short notice...

Well, in AAA world it is absolute non-sense, but when I was talking about it in other thread, I meant HBS, which are selfpublishing SR games, so they get all my money minus GOG cut from my purchase.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - 'NON-FAKE-NEWS EDITION'
Mamoulian War replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
My problem is I don't like Dark Souls or Doom like action. :/ And I love companion-based real-time rpg combat which is so rare now. Since I have no FF history, I'm just one of those who sees it as a stand-alone game. I've come to realize that my ability to like previous or future installments in a game series (after I've discovered/played whatever one, first) is very low so I just view all games like that now, part of a series or not. Borderlands 2 surprised me because I thought I'd find it really "meh" or "been there done that" like I usually do when I try a sequel or an older game in a series etc. but cases like that are really rare for me. The whole idea of putting out these kind of features in dribs and drabs and DLC's still annoys me however. But I guess I'm still glad it eventually gets put in. After Ignis DLC/this patch I'll probably put it down after Xmas, for another 4 months, and see what happens again. I think you might enjoy it even more after XMas, due to the free patch which will allow changing character mid-fight. For me well. I have not played it, and I have bought collector's edition. I am just so sad it went so far away from traditional FF, which I was expecting, that I have simple to no mood to play it at all -

EA lost $3.1billion in stock so far after Lootbox Gate hit the news. If this does not teach them to treat their customers respectfully, nothing will... -

I wish they would rather implement some sort of ATB. If I want some action, I play Dark Souls or Doom. I always bought FF games for the story and JRPG stuff. FFXV is now everything but JRPG Thankfully, theres is still Atelier, Tales of, Trails of and Neptunia, so I can still unleash some waifus to stomp enemies! -
Got all of them already. Thinking to buy the Deluxe Upgrade for HongKong, even though I do not need it, just to support the dev. I love the Shadowrun games.

And that's what is killing indies on Steam. No ones bothered to go through all the garbage to search for amazing unknown games anymore. So the word of mouth does not have much chance to get generated... -
But Alien: Colonial Marines was Steam only release by Gearbox. How does it connects to GOG refund policy?

Indie developers are leaving Steam in droves, because Steam with Steam Direct put the term Shovelware to the whole new level. It is even worse than Greenlight. In 11 months, they approved more than 6000 asset flips to their catalogues (that's more than 2005-2015 combined). According to some indie developers, the store is so much saturated, that even the more successful of them in past, are currently struggling to keep afloat and are pursuing other distribution means, most notably Switch. Maybe we should start a therapy group for people with huge backlog? Where can I sign up?

Started StarCrawlers today. Courtesy of Mr. Sands :-P Spent almost two hours on it, and I am enjoying it more than I thought when putting it on my GOG wishlist. Picked up Hacker, and background, Rich Kid who became Freelance Hacker and got Burnt Out. I have pick up the stuff based on how I want to roleplay the guy and not based on stats. So Mamoulian the Ethical Hacker was born, and already stick it to the first corporation by helping the common people stuck by plague, get some vaccines

There is a thread in PoE part of the forums, where people are talking about ideal playthrough and when to tune up the difficulty, when you don't want to end up with easy mode.

Expecting from compabies like EA to self-regulate themselves because of customer backlash due to loot-boxes is as stupid as expecting big oil companies to regulate themselves because of backlash due to global warming. Sometimes government just has to step up and cut of the most greedy parts of corporations by law...

@Hurlshot. There is big difference. Makers of TCGs have to disclose the odds of getting cards. In Magic, you always get 6 common, 3 uncommon and 1 rare card. And also the thing, you can hold your cards for few years and sell it later for nice money. So people are looking at them more like an investment than gambling. Loot boxes on other hand, no one will ever tell you what kind of stuff it contains, and also you are not able to resell. Therefore you do not get any value out of digital merchandise, if you can't resell it later. That's what makes them more of a gamble than any TCG ever released.

PS4 Pro without 4K TV is imo not worth, unless you are playing fast paced action or racing games, where it is very crucial to have best FPS possible. In these games you will feel performance boost even without 4K TV.

I know a guy who already has the game since he was a KS backer and now has an extra key Hmm, I have to check what is on sale on GOG. Very busy at work currently. If I find some wishlisted games on sales, I rather buy them. I do not want to waste another key, if there is a chance to spent 15EUR on sale. But if you can please, hold me the key for few more days, I would love to have it one way or another ) Thank you.

Black Friday sale on GOG started. MDK for free, and Starcrawlers game for free if you spend 15USD plus. I hope I can find some deals. Starcrawlers is on my wishlist for some time \o/

@marelooke. Well I know that from one of my friends who is colorblind, and was not able to play Crysis jungle levels because of this. I really do not remember which Crysis game it was specifically, but he did complained about it a lot.
