  1. To understand, why Cheliax has such "inconsistency" in general naming, you have to read some fictional history about the region, where is now Cheliax. It's empire in the service of devils, that's the why the name of the empire sounds devilish, too. There was a lot of wars in this region, and lot of towns and settlements did belong to different states/empires in history. If you are interested about history of Golarion, the only places, where to find complete lore is Paizo's Inner Sea World Guide and Inner Sea Gods books. About copycating the DnD, well, it's up to everyone taste. I really do not like where WotC headed with 4th and 5th Editions, so I am really happy, that PFRPG is based on OGL version of DnD 3.5, and feels familiar, with most of the content and makes it better. The only thing, which I do not like in the rules is non-magical crafting :-P And about Numeria, well there are some other regions, completely different to other places, and what makes you quation their decision to put that content, there is also backstory about that, also possible to find in the ISWG, but also in the People of the Stars Player Companion, or Campaign Setting. Aaand also the is the Great Beyond book, which also covers extra-golarionians, or in other words aliens, which have a big conection to Numeria as well...
  2. Well, I played it twice to get the platinum, and second playthrough, I was bored almost whole time, and there is no chance, I would ever start the game for third time. The game is just another Hack and Slash with some RPG Elements and not RPG. Combat is very similar to Crisis Core FFVII on PSP, but IMO more annoying. Some maps are so big that you are just running around, without anything happening. Especially after you exterminate all members of all monster races in specific location. For me the game after a while changed into constantly watching on in-game watch and hitting Chronostasis, just to be able to not miss the quest NPC. And 95% of all quests were just typical MMO-type fetchquests, which started to be boring already on 1st playthrough after 3 hours of playtime :-/ Replayability in games is important, but it is a chore if your game is just another mindnumbing FedEx simulator... Sales numbers on PS3 were much much lower than Bravely Defaults sales on NDS, which was released around same time, and which was proper RPG.
  3. "Lightning Returns was the best Final Fantasy after X." No.
  4. Good luck to you too :D Thankfully, I can resist the luring of sales, but still got two games during last GOG sale Finished 6 games so far this year (but Tales of Xillia is on that list twice, because of Bad Ending and True Ending ), It takes me usually more than a month to finish one game, and then I try to go for Platinum with games, which I love or sometimes hate. I am looking at you!!! Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII - I hated to play that game so much, but my stubborness still forced me to Platinum it LOL... I should make me an excel sheet, where I list my priorities what to play for the next few months, as well... Very big priority on the list should be Platinum for Ni No Kuni 1, before the 2nd part comes out in November...
  5. Fingers crossed. Unfortunately, I have not noticed these games, before they were sold out in most of the shops on PS3. I still would like to have hard copies, but I will go for GOG copies very soon My backlog is so big, that I have decided to purchase only 1 game in the summer, and try to clear up some of it. Tales of Berseria took me two months to finish, so I think my backlog will be growing more and more even despite this decision
  6. And few hours ago, I was able to finish Tales of Berseria. And I was not disappointed All in all It took me almost 138 hours, but I was playing it intentionally on hardest difficulties. Unfortunately, the final bossfight was very hard on these difficulties, so I had to drop to Moderate I do not remember last time, when I played a game for so long, and was still eager to continue forward, doing sidequests didn't feel like a chore, but complemented the main story. And I really loved the main characters, which were different to what we are mostly used in other games. No saving the world cliche this time in the story. It was just an afterthought next to the main quest for revenge of the main heroine. I will probably do now few optional postgame sidequests, but I am already itching to finish my postponed quest for Platinum Trophy in Tales of Xillia 2 (missing last two of the most grindy trophies in game). And probably, I'll launch the free Rebel Galaxy, which I got in last GOG sale
  7. Well really hard to tell how stand-alone it is. I played both games, and enjoyed both of them, but I have recoginzed tons of things from Zestiria, when played. The end of ToB is not open-ended, so you can play it alone. But if you will like it, I think Zestiria, deserves a chance, even though, as you and internet says, ToB is better game.
  8. Legend of Heroes, Trails of Cold Steel on PC in the west :-O And apparently next month!!!! http://www.siliconera.com/2017/06/29/legend-heroes-trails-cold-steel-pc-launches-july-2017/ I wish so much, that it would be available on GOG as well
  9. You're not done until you get the white robe. Just saying. At this point you're just shaming me for getting so close to buying it. I thought the game was terribly boring as heck in the original release as it was. To the point where it's the only main series game that I put down and never even wanted to pick up again. It felt grindy, slow, and just barely interactive in combat thanks to the gambit system. But I keep thinking "no, I must be too harsh. So many people love it, I bet the story is fantastic to make up for the crud gameplay. I should give it a second chance." And then I read your post.I am really sorry, I did not mean to be bad on you. IMO the game does deserve second chance. When I played the game for the first time on PS2, i really loathed it after playing FFX like two months before it. But when I played the game 3 years later, for some reason, and I really cannot explain exactly why, I enjoyed the game much much more. Maybe because I experimented a lot with various gambit settings. Really dunno. The game is closer to MMO, than previous FF games, and that put me off at first. But, Japanese Zodiac Job System veraion was big improvement over original FFXII, although being little bit easier, but your dilemma was, if you should Tales of Berseria or FFXII. And having this decision in front of you. Well no one sane would recommend you to go for FFXII ) I have purchased ToB at release date, so I do not have this dilemma in front of me, and as I said before, I will buy FFXII sooner or later, too. But I will be playing it with my own Houserules, and never invest License points into the second Job, and I would probably recommend you doing the same ) Just wait for a sale, and go enjoy Tales of Berseria first, it's worth it :-P PS: If you never played Tales of Zestiria before, I recommend you to buy it on sale as well. It's not as good game as Berseria, but the two games make the whole story complete, and playing both games is needed for filling some plot holes )
  10. Not really hard at this point. Final Fantasy is probably the worst JRPG franchise I've played and has been for ages. Edit: After saying that, I could not in good conscience have a pre-order up for Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age. I think I'll see about getting Berseria instead. Hmm TBH, FFXII is not that bad, but they put some changes I do not like in PS4 version compared to original japanese version of Zodiac Job System, which make the game very easy. I am buying FFXII sooner or later, but if I had to choose between FFXII ZA and Tales of Berseria, ToB would win with crazy big margin :-D What changes did they make for the PS4 version of FFXII? In Japanese Zodiac Job System, each character could pick only one job. In PS4, each character can pick two jobs at once. Investing double Licende Points into License grid, will make the game extremely easy. Keep in mind. Japanese FFXII had already lower difficulty, than original FFXII. Most off the additions to ZJS, were positives, but infortunately, FFXII has kind of not so interesting story compared to previous FF games, so making the game easier, will make it more boring.

  12. Hmm my personal oppionion is, that it is the 2nd best, if Tales of game I've played. I have played only and all releases on PS3 and PS4. As a prequel to Tales of Zestiria, it is better in almost all of the aspects. The combat is more streamlined though, compared to all previous modern Playstation Tales of titles. It is also pretty easy for me. Played almost 3/4 of the game on two hardest difficulties. But it might be, because I am used to Tales of games combat. I have spent almost 800 hours in playing various Tales of titles. The story is much more darker than previous titles, but feels more consistent. I think they find much better balance between traveling, combat and cutscenes compared to Tales of Zestiria. And there are tons of minigames. Some are more fun for me some are less, but you can find almost anytime something which will catch your attention. Tbh for me, Tales of series surpased Final Fantasy long time ago, and offer much better entertainment. 10/10 from me.
  13. It really depends on the country, most people in the world do not need PS4 or XB1 for their entertainment. PS2 and PS3 still have thousands of games to play. People in US and most EU, just are unable to grasp the idea, that the most modern and hip thing is not needed to have fun. Lot of people who I know are still sticking to XB360 or PS3, because there are tons of good games on it, and can get very cheap games on it, and with them lot of fun. Same goes with modded consoles. If people cannot afford PS4 and big tv, they just purchase old modded console for under 100USD, and get thousands of games for cheap or free. And good PC even for few years old, still costs more than modded console. Therefore the console piracy will always be more widespread in the world, even if it is almost nonexistant in "western" world.
  14. That the PC piracy is leading is bull****, moded consoles in most of the other parts of the world were always prevalent to PC games, because it was safer (no viruses), and there were and still are even companies who will give you two years waranty and free service for your modded console. The consoles were always more convenient, for legit customers, and pirates as well. That's why most consoles had huge profits, despite all the rampant piracy.
  15. Reached final dungeon of Tales of Berseria. I was able to kill off all optional bosses except one, which is 45 level above me at moderate difficulty. Played through the last quarter of game on hardest chaos difficulty, but last dungeon really has gone up in difficulty, despite having pretty pimped-up gear. 8 battles took me almost 1 hour, and got almost destroyed in the last one. I love the challenge to be honest, but this way, I would spend more than 8 hours before final fight :-P I think I will have to lower the difficulty one step lower to intense and get 2 or three more levels, and then try to change back to chaos. The difference between Intense and Chaos in ToB is that enemies have 15 more levels compared to Intense, and that can make some battles with lot of casters pretty heavy :-D
  16. Any Yakuza in the west is good Yakuza :D My dream would be Compilation of 3,4,5 on 1 disc for PS4 :-D
  17. http://www.siliconera.com/2017/06/27/yakuza-series-director-says-wait-two-months-something-new-yakuza-game/ Let it be Yakuza 2 PS4 remake in vein of Yakuza Kiwami, pretty please
  18. They won't, and they shouldn't(if they are smart). Why on earth would they help Xbox/Steam sell more games?! They are competitors. They would rather attract a new customer to their user-base. Well tbh in my oppinions this decision costs them more sales than it brings them. I can give you only my own example though. You mnetioned Rocket League. I have friends which have Steam and would never ever think about buying a console. I have PS4, and there is absolutely no chance, that I would give my money to Valve. Few my firends already own the game on Steam, but not enough to have full-fledged fun with the game. I would love to purchase Rocket League, but because there is no crossplay, I will not give my money to Sony. I rather put my **** into bee-hive, than playing again any multiplayer game with random toxic brodudes. No crossplay no sale. If I ever purchase Nintendo Switch, I can safely buy Rocket League, knowing that I can play MP with my real friends.
  19. The only platform, which I use is GOG. I have PSN account as well, but I have never purchased any digital only game on PS system, due to DRM, and it will most likely stay that way, unless they make it little bit more competitive with GOG in terms of sales. I rather pay 50 EUR for physical game than 10 EUR for digital game. Cross platform works only when developer/publisher decides to allow it. Crossplatform between GOG and Steam works in maybe 20-30% of the MP games. Crossplatform play between different consoles and PCs is more in the wishful thinking area, than something they want to provide. Because of possibility, that some platform might bite the dust, I buy 90% of my games SinglePlayer, and on PC only DRM-free releases. Whatever will happen with any platform, I can play my games even if the service goes down.
  20. Your personal preferences still do not make Assetto Corsa a terrible racer. It is hard to master game, but even though I suck at it, It is still the best racing game on home entertainment systems.
  21. The thing is, he called AC horrible racer, which is by no means correct statement. If he said AC is horrible arcade, I would not be bothered to react, because that statement is correct. And a statement that FH2 made him enlightened, and calling AC as a terrible racer, just made me hit my head with a table *rollseyes*
  22. Seriuosly... you call Assetto Corsa horrible racer? OMG... I really have to question your sanity... it's the most realistic car similation, that was ever made for home entertainment systems and you call it horrible... Playing FH2 compared to it, feels like playing a games for toddlers... *facepalm*
  23. Just clocked over 100 hours in Tales of Berseria and unlocked Chaos difficulty today. The more I continue, the more gets the story interesting. There is also lot of comedy skits, so I am having a blast and fun :-D I am enjoying it much more than Zestiria and Xillia 2, so far. We'll see how the game will go forward the closer I get to Final Battle. Also if you never played Tales of Zestiria nor Berseria. I would recommend you to play Berseria first and continue with Zestiria, despite being released sooner.
  24. Fantasy General for free on GOG for the next 17.5 hours.
  25. I am sorry, I just shut up now. I am just sad, that I have not started my career in Marketing, because now I experienced first hand, that hype can overcome not only reason and sanity, but newtonian physics as well *shrugs* The choice to pursue my career in programming cost me lot of money :'(
