He's partly kidding you. He just likes heralds very much. Sporelings should be pretty durable. You get a lot of different blights, so it depends. I don't know about Fire Stag. No, beckoner only work on chanter summons. Druid summons are not affected by chanter subclass. But they - like the rest of you team - benefit from chanter singing phrases. IE healing from "Ancient Memory".

With Brisk Recitation on, a troubadour will gaina new phrase every 3 seconds. A Beckoner/Default/Bellower will gain a new phrase every 6 seconds. Theurge (Druid/chanter) will be more offensive, but less tanky than a herald. Have more summons. (Ancient) Druid spells can summon sporelings, blights and fire stag. Have offensive and support spells too Chanter kan summon skeletons, phantom, wyrms, ogres, drake, extra skeleton from chant, summoned weapons. For single chanter also dank spore and dragon. Hmm, maybe best summoner is single chanter.

Godlike is good for chanter and druid and theurge. I like nature godlike best, but go with what you find most attractive. This is true. But you can test it on the first area (sea cave at beach) and restart if you want to try both. The sea cave is pretty small and quicly over.

I don't know. I don't like paladins. I haven't researched paladins (or herald) INT increases duration. Increasing Power Levels will also increase duration. You could also try bellower subclass if you want longer duration on summons. Empower will increase duration of summon by 25%. (5 power levels, 5% each) I don't think you can have an invisible chanter. Sounds strange.

No. It's just terminology. Chanter is singing magic - like a bard. He uses invocations/spirit spells. Druid uses nature spells. Priest uses faith spells. Wizard uses arcane spells. Not as I see it. Druid/Ranger is called beastmaster because druid is nature/beast based. Ranger is also nature and have animal pet. Also, druid can also charm beasts with spells. In my opinon that would be a theurge (druid/chanter). You get more different things to summon and more often. If you want the dragon you have to go single chanter though. Subclass depending on preference. I'd probably go beckoner chanter/ancient (gets fun sporelings) druid and focus on summons invocations from chanter and summoning spells from druid. Or beckoner chanter/animist druid. Or beckoner chanter/shifter druid, because spiritshift is fun. For roleplay and personal reasons I don't want to run troubadour, but it is also ok. The modals are a kind of 'bonus' you can switch on and off. You start with the weapon of modals you choose, but find extra weapons pretty fast. As a summoner, you likely want to be ranged, and not in melee. Getting the pistol/arquebus/crossbow/arbalest/bow modal is fine. If you level to 20 you can have 7? modals. The other users knows more about gear than me. I'd likely choose pistol and crossbow or bow at the start. Much have changed since may. Game got harder on hard difficulties (don't know which difficulty you like) and that time summons cost -1 phrase. If you want dragon, go single chanter. If you don't mind more and smaller summons, go beckoner. If you want to cast many invocations, go - ewww - troubador.

Immersion breaking mistake
Frak replied to Wormerine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Yeah, pounding the keys might not make the music louder, but you forget one thing: "He can't help it, the preening sprat" He's just getting carried along. -
Both, in a sense. Hel (POE) is likely inspired by the Hel from Nordic mythology. It's a ... less pleasant location in the afterlife. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hel_(location) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hel_(being) (Also dramatized by Cate Blanchett in Thor:Ragnarok) Goshdarnit, I need to read up on my mythology.

She can (depending on dialogue choice) use 'Hel' and 'Darn' when you recruit her in Maje. Xoti is quite the pottymouth.

Dude. Those are great! Personal request. Can you also do the aumaua in island (orangy, sunsetty, brownish?) colours? I need a good island aumaua for my next run. -
[BUG 4.1] Damage roll bugged?
Frak replied to Archaven's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
So not a bug, just very ugly math. Alrighty then. -
Hmm, the portugese language pack is not updated with regards to beckoner description. Someone (else) should probably file a bug report.

"Invocations" is a word that we only use for chanter (multiclasses). Invocation = 'chanter spell' Druid, Wizard and Priest uses spells. A beastmaster is likely also a good summoner. You get the pet from the ranger class and druid have a few summoning (blights). Also, druid can spiritshift for added transformation fun. Or you could go multiclass druid/chanter and become a theurge. That would likely be the ultimate summon class. Also, you get spiritshift. Priest and wizards get one or two summon spells, I think. They are not summon specialist, though. The wizard tentacles is always fun. Regarding weapon specialisations. You get a few more during levelling. So if you choose 'wrong' in the beginning, it's not a big of a deal. I don't understand what you mean by "gun scoring". Unless you're a min-maxer, in which cause you'll cry yourself to sleep for three days and restart again

I don't play herald. I'm a single-class chanter ;-) (The user Marigoldran is obsessed with 'em, though) Don't worry about races. Choose the race you like to play. Moon godlike have good healing synergy if you like to be a bit tanky or have healing support , but chanter gets so many healing-chants (Soft Winds, Ancient Memory, Old Siec ...), that the extra healing from a moon godlike probably doesn't matter much. A herald is probably unkillable anyway. I've just restarted again, and I'm boreal dwarf skald. Because I want to play as a kind of Saganini (POE1) and from the Deadfire, but with chanting and chopping their legs off. The boreal racial buff is just for fun.

Anyways, the game is not that hard that you are forced to min-max. Go with what feels like your preference and enjoy.

Cost of skeletons for beckoner (+1 cost of summons) and troubador (+1 for all invocations) are both 4. 3+1. The confusion might be because in earlier versions beckoners had -1 on summons. That was changed in a patch. [i personally think that booth beckoner and troubadour might need a bit of fine-tuning. But that's up to the devs to decide]

Thanks a lot. Fortunately I know how to pay proper thanks to russians. The soup is in the mail. -

Can anybody make a watercolour of this (supposedly) beardless dwarf? I know beggars can't be choosers, but I would be delighted if the lines aren't too sharp or detailed on the watercolour. The closer to the official companion watercolours (Eder, Xoti et cetera) lines, the better. Thanks In advance. -
With "brisk recitation" on, a troubador gets 6 phrases in 18 seconds (but loses linger). Which means he can cast skeletons almost (costs 4, right?) twice. Nerf troubadour! A beckoner gets 3 phrases in 18 seconds. which means he can cast skeletons almost (costs 4, right?) once. Same amount and they fill more on the battlefield, but are smaller and shorter duration.
