  1. omg youre right i totally forgot about that! I really just want 5/6 tiny skeletons with huge heads on screen D:
  2. Very nice! Dat stealth pull is next level and the sickened is huge for aoe -5 con. I thought goldpact and/or pets might work very well too because +4 armor early on is so crazy and having more targets to split incoming dps is obviously great. Wanted to try it with skeletons tho since they should be pierce immune (and a bunch of skeles with big head mode should look hillarious ) Good stuff!
  3. Do it and share your setup! I havent tried traps at all this time around but they are there if you disarm the ones you find on the way
  4. nope there are a number of might checks but they dont do what you say you want to do. If you want to "threaten" (as the title suggests) intimidate is probably the best thing to avoid combat in A LOT of situations in the game (seriously A LOT) but intimidate doesnt have much of an "undermining" flavor maximum stats for metagaming: https://wiki.fireundubh.com/deadfire/dialogue-options
  5. Check the screenshots I aggrod every guy around the well. Like 7 dudes in total i think?! (looting 6 + 1 guy on the left in one of the images) Just as it normally happens when you pass thru the open area right where you enter the map (regardless of north or south) I got a few more ideas how to do it, might get around to it this weekend. The fight is really hard for sure especially under these conditions. @spoilerinos.. well now you know immediately at the start of the game there is a street called gorecci and a town called port maje and a beach. Game basically ruined. Time to uninstall? If mods feel like this is indeed an actual spoiler (which it really isnt) feel free to move it to the strategy forum part. I used this one because its much more active than the others and i pretty much just focused on the challenge itself, nothing else.
  6. lvl 17 multiclass wizard/wayfarer 24 heal per proc from white flames with 17 might and practiced healer does seem to scale a tiny bit with PL and contrary to what the wiki says it definitely scales with might (gloves of might on/off) (at level 16/15 (notsure) without practiced healer it was 20 range @10 intelligence is approximately 2character select rings wide does not proc multiple times with either a 4hit blunderbuss (tested the one that isnt kitchen stove nor does it proc multiple times with citzals). Only dual wield full attacks cause it to proc multiple times. It is however extremely interesting to note that the flames of devotions buff itself stays for the base version like 6 seconds (it counts as some sort of a selfbuff, not just an ability attack) and ALL attacks made during this duration will benefit from white flames (so if you make 2 full attacks in those 6 seconds you get 4 procs!) Didnt check that again for shared flames and ?enduring flames? tho , only noticed that for the base version. Basically its super op in the early game, then falls off quite a bit but is still very good.
  7. Short: POTD, direct route to Gorecci street after clearing the beach. No spending gold (except crafting), no free bonuses, no cheese. BIG HEAD MODE MANDATORY! Complex rules: - POTD , upscaling only - NO BLESSINGS! NO DLC items / Collectors Edition / Console command pets (only the astral pig is okay for roleplaying reasons!). - benevolent backstory! but DO NOT USE HYLEAS BOUNTY! - pick up Eder and Xoti whenever you like! - (allowed to) full clear everything on the beach! (including the cave) - Stay on the route to port maje, you are only allowed to take what you can see from the road (ale and fresh fruit) - NO TALKING to anyone that isnt on the beach OR directly related to the gorecci quest (i.e. the woman in the prison who gives you the quest). - You are allowed to LOOT everything u can in the main area of port maje (i didnt go into the tavern or into the mayors house) but DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE THAT ISNT REQUIRED (for the things mentioned above)! - This means NO recruiting, NO buying items! ONLY LOOT (+crafting!)! - You HAVE to hard engage the entire group at the well! (NO pulling half of them! NO kiting around walls!) You may stealth into position / move (since they dont aggro right away) Screen of the difficulty: https://ibb.co/krBAwo ^This puts you at level 2 with some drugs, pots and food. FINISHED WITH: Moon Godlike Kind Wayfarers Paladin+Drug Monk multiclass (named Gorecci), Xoti monk/priest , Eder fighter https://ibb.co/dH312T Finished Fight: https://ibb.co/dDsYGo So the setup i used was around the wizard who just HAS to die instantly, in fact i HAD to hit the first knockdown as well since his 1 cast is jolting touch which just fks you up. Setup: https://ibb.co/mES0wo On my first try i got an insane roll as well https://ibb.co/eeNuNT hitting for 49 damage but still ended up dying because the fighters ended up blocking the way down and that ONE bloody archer just deleted me... Eder got instagibbed on my 2nd try but thanks to his op armor passive i got to push thru AND Got past the fighters while taking only a few disengage attacks and the archer https://ibb.co/hSJqwo Still almost fked up my main character in 2 hits https://ibb.co/htjkU8 But after the archer was dead and my party was still pretty alive it was just easy cleanup as seen on top. https://ibb.co/dDsYGo Items used: Ripple sponge (crafted) was the mvp imo. +15%dmg -5% speed drug on eder, the interrupt drug on xoti though i didnt see any interrupts and would probably have prefered svef. A bunch of pots (like 3 in a row on xoti while she was solo tanking the 2 fighters while my other 2 chars were dealing with the last archer). and then some Stun bombs (20% chance to hit on 4 ppl gave me like 1 graze/hit each of the 2 times i used them. Probably not using those again... Food: Grog on MC and fresh fruit on xoti and eder TAKE THE CHALLENGE AND SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE/BUILD GIT GUD
  8. Much appreciated! To expand on that i assume it will proc multiple times with citzals spirit lance or the multihit blunderbusses? So 1 kitchen stove = 4 procs? Or is it "on use per weapon" and not per hit? White flames + hitting a bunch of dudes with aoe weapons + paladin defenses sounds like a super easy solo run where you heal like 60+ per attack. 14 per proc is quite op at level 1 as long as it scales decently.
  9. Buy on GOG! You can play on whatever patch you want then. Definitely the best platform for digital purchases rn.
  10. I tested it, Carnage ability didn't apply skills effect on multiple targets, will be better if we can cast martial skills on multiple target (as spirit lance) but with less damage. Otherwise increase carnage damage at least to 50% percent and remove all other damage modifiers I afraid that Rogue's can abuse such big damage amount, if you can limit rogue deathblows to single hand weapon (+ we wait nerfs for streetfighter from obsidian), this weapon type will be good choice Applying martials to multiple targets is absolutely broken. Besides the obvious unlimited stunning surge.. Imagine barbaric blow on 5 targets, each of which triggering its own instance of carnage in addition to the weapon aoe itself, Rogue applying aoe arterial strike, fighters locking down entire groups for minutes with constant aoe knockdowns... Just no, applying weapon abilities in an aoe is no bueno. Just breaks the game.
  11. Here is what happened with DA: 1. Outstanding story, solid combat for its time. 2. Big step forward in the combat gameplay (less passives, more actives, cross class combos) but moderate fail on story and HUGE fail on character design in particular (basically foreshadowing Mass Effect 3). Literally the entire cast of companions is fairly unlikeable (except Varric, guess who got to come back in the sequel.. exactly). Lots of very valid complaints about reuse of the same assets over and over (dungeons) and a fairly bland city. 3. Extremely butthurt developers went full ape**** on world building while neglecting pretty much everything else. Full open world MMO disaster. Companion AI was supposed to be replaced to be easier to use by stupid people but unfortunately, not only did they remove the custom AI sets but they also forgot to replace the companion AI entirely (because as mentioned above the only people working on DA3 were doing only world building all the time because of how butthurt they were), instead they coded 3 lines for it and created the stupidest, lowest IQ companions in the history of video games.
  12. Everything that is an aoe attack is game breaking op right now if it procs anything else (see page 4).
  13. Anyone tried white flames + shared flames? How much does white flames heal? radius? Fextralife wiki says the heal doesnt scale with might but doesnt give values.. i assume it does scale with PL tho? Does the shared flames version proc a heal on each character who gets shared flames? Dont have the game installed rn :/
  14. @Fury The best druid spells this time around are the heals over time and damage over time spells. The latter dont benefit from fury and you lose the heals entirely. That leaves you with relentless storm and pretty much nothing else useful imo. Sunbeam has been nerfed really hard. Probably a little bit too much even tho it was absolutely broken in PoE1.
  15. I just checked.... I do NOT have a selection circle D: DOES THAT MEAN I AM DEAD????? PLEASE CLICK ON ME, SOMEONE CLICK ON ME NOWWWW... On that note is it like schroedingers cat? If you havent clicked on it, it is both alive and dead at the same time? Or like "if a tree falls in the wood and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?" If you exist and nobody clicks on you, are you actually alive? <_>
  16. Penetrating strike costs 1, gets +20% bonus damage, and has an easier time getting overpenetration. That's ... that's pretty good. Stunning Blow "competes" with Swift Strikes about as much as any self-buff competes with Full Attacks - that is to say, you use them both and you wish you had more. The only class that labors to keep up in this regard is Barbarian, whose lowest level full attack actually does cost 2. But, you know ... Carnage. Whoops my bad then if its 1 discipline but still.. +4 Pen on POTD is/*was* useless most of the time. Stacking Pen in general is useless most of the time since getting DOUBLE the enemies armor is/*was* just insanely unrealistic. Like if your enemy has 10 armor (pretty average for POTD) you still would have to have 16!!!! base pen before penetrating strike does anything useful. With the reworked Chanter debuff in 1.2 its more achievable but before that it was just completely dead value. edit: Thinking about it.. with the chanter change it might actually be really fking good now and worth using over knockdown . 11base pen for legendairy sabres + 2 from food + 4 from pen strike puts you at 17 against (10-2)*2 armor. Seems legit. Its still poop against 11 or more armor tho... If you dont get overpen youre left with 20% dmg vs +10acc and knockdown. Its less poop if its only 1 discipline so thats fair buuuut meeeeh... The special thing about swift strike is that it is particularly SHORT and particularly GOOD especially when upgraded. So you really never want to run out. The difficult fights tend to last longer. Barb i actually think that the pure value of barbaric blow more than makes up for the cost. + frenzy has pretty good duration.
  17. Neither fighter nor monk have a good spammable full attack? Penetrating strike is terrible and costs 2 if i remember correctly. Stunning blow competes with swift strikes (10secs really isnt all that long on POTD in the few hard fights) and costs 2 as well. Am i missing something?
  18. It's a bit odd, because in the context of the first game, it was sort of a twist. "Yeah, it turns out not helping DoC get closure and avenge the murder of her family meant she went crazy and got torn apart by the mob. Better luck next time!" I liked it a lot, personally. Devil of Caroc has to be the best character ever made. Should have been a full companion with tons of interactions and stuff. The DLC guys all fell kinda flat in terms of actually showing personality :/ (besides the hillarious dialogue with the guy who built her) Best background story ever made tho, ez , not even close. Im still in love
  19. I just googled that but as it seems it never came to be? Ist that a solo adventure type DM mode thing or is it only MP with the DM micromanaging stuff? Does it actually exist? Where did you find it?
  20. I mean it kinda makes sense that if you store explosive powder in a barrel you will actually make an effort to make the barrel more durable than the one you use to store fish. While it doesnt make sense that a barrel has reflex/will in the first place i can totally see higher fortitude and deflection based on stronger materials. cough seriously considering video game logic
  21. A perfect adaptation of D&D is weird... besides the licensing issue there are so many things that are annoying to do in video games. Youd have to let characters start at around level 3-5 so they dont get randomly 1 shot, high end DnD is a joke where whoever brings more cheese wins.. life drain, instant death, petrification so many annoying mechanics. Not sure how the latest version handles those bur realistically there is no reason to create a identical copy of DnD just to call it DnD if you can do basically the same thing with your own system while cutting all the annoying crap that every sane party cuts out anyway. Most of what makes Pen and Paper great is not the system itself but the people you play with. The DnD system itself doesnt translate all that well to video games. Combat in BG2 past the early/midgame was just stupid. Instakill liches, reflect beholders, stacking immunities against life drain / stat drain... boring, cheesy and mandatory. Stacking your invulnerabilities and piercing the enemies mantle, super duper armor , antispellreflect bubbles.. The only thing a "DnD" game would bring is brand recognition, other than that youd have to apply "house rules" to make the game actually fun.
  22. Chromoprismatic Quarterstaff + the 2H helmet is already good enough. Especially for fighters and spamming knockdown. The problem is that the quality of 2H weapons is just so much lower than the average quality of 1H weapons throughout the majority of the game (i.e. uniques) AND you get to wield 2 unique 1H at the same time so you get to stack more passives which is really important! There are like 2 good 2H besides chromo? Effort after enchanting is okay but since it is lategame too you might as well just get chromo instead.. Blade of the endless paths is the only decent early game 2H and compared to some of the early game 1H its just meh... tl;dr the problem with 2H is the quality of uniques compared to wielding 2 unique 1H. edit: I always considered characters with a focus on "full attacks" (compared to fighter with a focus on primary and mob stance) to basically be made for dual wielding anyway so i dont really see the problem there. I think its intentionally made more valuable to use full attacks while dual wielding. The game is a bit focused on full attacks for most abilities tho, thats a fair point.
  23. Didnt find any 2H that were better than chromoprismatic quarterstaff. Unfortunately thats super late in the game so effectively worthless for devoted. There is another quarterstaff called "sweeper" that just looks hillarious (see list) but its fairly late as well. Check out this list: https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/List_of_unique_weapons_(Deadfire) Greatswords, Morning stars are probably the best options for devoted if you really want to go devoted. Devoted + sabres will always be the better powergaming option though. It is worthy to note that some of the best 2H weapons in the game are the ones you summon with spells! The draining quarterstaff is excellent to bridge until you can get a decent one and the citzals spirit lance (pike) is probably the ACTUAL best 2H weapon in the game. Weapon summons are kinda slow AND short tho... soooo meh....
  24. Tyranny choices >> PoE. So much impact on gameplay, the replay value in that game was nuts.
