  1. But....How did Llengrath pass on their knowledge? I thought it was some kind of in-person mind-transfer? That they did at the end of training up their successor? I mean okay I haven't played that part in a bit, and I've only played it once so far,but that's the impression I got. Or did they just take up the mantle and not have all the knowledge that comes with it?
  2. Unpopular opinion time! I like the narration for the most part. My only real complaint is it's too slow for me but I know I read much faster than your average person.
  3. My thing with that is you're new to the area and they're not. They know the terrain better than you at the moment. And honestly no matter HOW smart you are people can get the jump on you. That's life. Sometimes you're unlucky. I saw it as a combination of my Watcher not expecting the errand to be to something that would lead to a situation like that, not up to date on the area, and being distracted by coming back to Deadfire where she has a lot of mixed memories. You could always see it as you character having had a bad day? They missed something because half of their SOUL is missing? You can rationalize it in a lot of ways besides oh they MUST be dumb. No one is ALWAYS on the top of their game and the Watcher is missing part of their soul which is KIND of a big deal in Eora.
  4. Again, you're forced to go through Periki's Overlook. Forced. So no, your assertion that people ignore the game to go do their own thing and somehow this is "wrong" is just silly. All this besides the fact that Clario simply tells you that if you want to do business in the Deadfire, you'll need to see Onekaza. There's no particular urgency in that. To go through Periki's Overlook...Where are you forced to go into the Watershaper's Guild on your way to the palace? And I found it urgent because we thought she might have information on where Eothas would be going next?(It's been a bit since I played that part of the game so correct me if I'm wrong.)
  5. And this is why we should always save regularly folks! ......Yeah wish I could help but I don't even remember that encounter. I probably solved it peacefully though cause that's the kind of character I'm playing.
  6. He creeps me out. But part of that MIGHT be that I'm playing a benevolent character who HATES being touched by people she doesn't know....we'll see how I feel about him next character...except Illyasviel will probably be creeped out too....Sorry Atsura! You're a brilliant character but it'll be awhile before I can make a character who likes you!
  7. I swear I've seen one on Nexus? I think it was called like Naked and Strong or something?
  8. If anyone try their hand with this one that'd be great! I have a picture I'm happy with but I do really like this one. And the fact her hair covers her ears means I could use it for Human AND Elf playthroughs.
  9. The fact you can't check what's in your grimoires while leveling up is the WORST. I somehow ALWAYS end up picking at least one spell during the tier unlocks that is already in Aloth's grimoire because I forgot to check before leveling him up and since they're new spell levels I haven't been using them in combat to potentially remember what he has that I haven't picked myself.
  10. We do have that in game. I currently have Aloth wearing it right now. I can't remember where I got it from but I believe it was pretty early on.
  11. BUT SHIP MEAN MORE SHINIES...RIGHT? THAT WHAT GROUNDMEAT DO. SHIP. SING. SHINIES!
  12. USELESS THING WANTS SHINY HAT! SHINY HAT BEST HAT. SHINY HAT RULES ALL IMPS.
  13. Oh, the things I mentioned are not what I want, but what I know will come. The first two were mentioned by Josh Sawyer and an Obsidian forum user respectively. And the last one is in this SPOILER thread: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/101546-a-nice-surprise-hidden-in-the-beta-patch/ I couldn't remember if they were confirmed or not so I stuck it on the list.(And I had forgotten that dude's name.)
  14. My wishlist of what happens next.....most of these are probably wishful thinking but a girl can dream Some kind of system to let us unleash our Eora Fashion while fighting! Without losing our armour benefits...(a.k.a. a transmog system or something. I JUST WANT LOOK CUTE WHILE I KICK BUTT OKAY!) An option to check the ability tree would be nice. InsaneCommander is definitely right in that point. More BOWS....I'm aware there are probably more in the game but I'm 63 hours into this playthrough and while I have discovered a VARIETY of the other weapon types that are unique I have only come across ONE unique bow....This is annoying because I tend to play Bow-wielding Rangers. I mean don't get me wrong it's a nice bow but...more options please? Please Obsidian I'm begging you. Give me more bows. Let me change what color my animal companion is? That'd be cool. In fact give me more animal companion customization in general. More interactions with my companions.... Ydwin. Give me more Ydwin. Did I mention being able to look cute while I kick butt? I think I did but it needs reiterating.
  15. MANY SHINIES IMPORTANT. BIG ONES IMPORTANT TOO THOUGH....HMMMMM. THIS IS GETTING COM...COM...HARD!
  16. STUPID FARMER PET ALL IMPS! STUPID FARMER STUPID. NO CARES. JUST PETS.
  17. It is pretty hard to argue against your point because you cherry-pick the things you like as "great works that inspired the entire genre" and ignore everything else. Constantly moving the goalposts or arguing totally different things while saying everyone else "just doesn't get it" also helps. How does your view of magic as science in any way match great works like LoTR where magic is strictly the purview of gods and angels (who happen to look like Wizards) and there's nothing scientific about it? But the part that really shows how self absorbed you are and how much you need everyone to agree with your very narrow definitions, is this: You constantly talk about how magic should be like science and Wizards the noble nerds that are smart enough to study it. And yet, when lots of people point out that Wizards are exactly that in Eora, they are researchers, animancers, they have labs and try to study how soul energy works, you ignore this because you personally find the abilities of other classes too flashy or too magical. Multiple people have pointed this out, but your criticism comes down to not liking a truly high-magic setting. Eora is a high magic setting, magical energy (soul energy) is everywhere in some form, and anyone can tap into it to some extent as part of their lives and their jobs. Wizards are exactly what you complain they are not, they are scientists concerned with the minutiae of magical power, who study it and find practical "technological" applications. Like many other people have pointed out, if you equate Magic with physics, anyone can learn a little physics knowledge and apply it in their jobs, and they are the non-Wizard classes, but only Wizards are "PhD physicists" winning Nobel prizes. The fact that you constantly ignore this point makes it clear that mostly you're butthurt that anyone else gets to use cool magical effects (even though their usage is highly specialized and "intuitive" rather than deeply studied). If magic is so widespread and easily attained, and any Joe Smoe can use it, what need is there for someone to research or specialize in it? It is everywhere and easily used by anyone. What is special about a wizard? How does a "wizard" even exist in a setting where magic is so easily obtained and used. Where essentially everyone is a "wizard" and the term simply means someone who plays with it as a hobby. Because everyone else is using a very small bit of it intuitively, the same way that in the real world we use physics intuitively to throw a ball or fly a plane or whatever, while an actual physicist is concerned with theory, much deeper understanding and utilization (think particle beams or lasers or something, still just physics, but so far removed from throwing a ball) and much broader application (including technological application). Again, it's a very, very simple metaphor: Magic in Eora is to Physics in the real world. It's a high magic setting. This is a very simple concept that everyone keeps explaining over and over, but you just discount it because you don't like it, even though it actually perfectly supports your desire for Wizards to be studied nerds devoted to knowledge and research. That's exactly what Wizards in Eora are and do. So no a Wizard is not "someone who plays with it as a hobby", the exact opposite in fact. Tell me, if you wanted to sneak up on someone in dim light, would you not "step through the shadows"? The animation in game is utterly mundane You're totally wrong about this too, btw. Shadow Step in WoW is literally a ranged teleport, not utterly mundane in any way, you're probably thinking of the Stealth ability. My brother who plays a Rogue in WoW agrees that Shadow Step is in fact a teleport not just sneaking through the shadows. You go 'poof' and than 'poof' you're in a new spot.
  18. USELESS THING HAS ONE....TWO....THREE.....EH...WHAT COME AFTER THREE? MANY? USELESS THING HAS MANY!

  21. I'm dying. They're not wrong!*cackles* Although depending on HOW we're talking about religion Pallegina might end up on THEIR side so...maybe don't go with religion....That could end....badly for you. On topic. As far as I know the only way to get rid of them is for them to die.
  22. Yeah I did it. I don't remember the requirements, but I think Metaphysics has to be super high. I *think* you have to read his soul first, and then with high Metaphysics figure out that you can simply channel part of it into the wards and let the dragon go. Then convince the dragon of it and perform the deed. So you don't appear to need the high metaphysics if you end up fighting him?(I did read his soul first though) Cause I tried, discovered my MP wasn't high enough said **** and was trying to strengthen the wards thus triggering a fight, got him to low and THAN I managed to take part of his soul and let him go.
  23. GROUNDMEAT YELL WHEN USELESS THING VISIT BATHHOUSE! STUPIDS! IMP BEST! BETTER THAN NAKED GROUNDMEAT!
  24. Oh! And another thing I discovered. If you're crafting and your personal inventory is full it seems the crafted items go into the void and don't pop in until you make space. So if your personal inventory is full try putting stuff into the stash!
