I think it's smart. Obsidian is trying to make their own game. What better way than to have a shocking fate for one of the main NPCs of the first game (and probably the most well-known by the casual fan) It allows Obsidian to say "This is our game and not Bioware's) and it sets the stage for some uneasiness regarding the fate of other NPCs from the first game. We'd be wondering: Are they gonna kill Bastila? Or Canderous? Or Carth? (Please?) Makes for some compelling storytelling, IMO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have found that with killing main characters off early, is basis for bad writing. I've seen many movies that have done this, and all have failed. You don't kill a well known character early, later or near the end, fine, but not early. Not to mention that to kill off a character just so that you can prove that your making your own game, is bad writing from the start. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not to mention that when they get killed at the start, I keep thinking they are going to return in some plot twist in some cases, and if I like the character I'm dissappointed if they don't.

Winning starts in the mind! Confidence is a resource that you can never have enough of (over confidence is another matter) If you had the power to give/ take that away you could influence many MANY things. But I can't imagine you would be able to use it and fight at the same time. Anakin was amazing with a LSBR in ep. I, II, but we have only really seen Bastilla's style in a computer game, a little limiting to say the least! So I shall reserve judgement. Vader would win easily IMO, but I just realised....We don't know what she turns out like in her later years yet.

Well mine is I live in Tony Blairs constituency, and live about 2 miles from where he went to school. Lucky me eh? And I've also met a few quite famous (in England anyway) football stars at my uncles memorial match. Believe it or not Gazza used to be his boot boy (clean his boots after a match) before he was a footballer himself. But sadly my uncle was killed, and alot of soccer stars turned up to a match in his memory. Well thats my claim to fame (if you could call it that ) Anyone else got any interesting stories?

I could really do with the points of mine sharpening. They are a bit blunt and look a bit s*** close up <_< But I really do like them, the big one on my right arm I designed myself, you may think its rubbish but I like it and its on my arm I try not to show them off too much, my mate has one and pretends he has an itchy arm so he can get his out <_< sad :D

The thing with the DS in KotOR was the NPC's didn't fear me. They must have been thinking 'what a loser,' I want to strike terror into the NPC's with my mere presence damn it! :ph34r:

I was a little dissappointed when my brand new wide screen tv came! on the box the word fragile, handle with care wasn't in fancy writing!! Who cares what the box looks like? When its next to all other games on the shelf you only see the side anyway.

*EP. III SPOILERS WARNING* Well Dooku dies VERY early in ep. III, or so I hear, and its at the hands of Anakin. And it took "a week of endless tortures" to turn Bastilla, Anakin took a while longer than that, given it was the manipulative and insidious way i.e. turning him without him even realising, so who knows how long he would last.
