  1. Obviously you have no idea how complicated hardware and drivers can be, nehwon_death. Odyssey engine has been optimized for NVidia use and therefore holds specific coding that makes it run better on Nvidia cards while that same coding will cause errors in ATI drivers. because there is no key NVidia bits to be found. It is like taking an X-Box system but give it the PS2's graphic processor. There will be errors and more than likely the game will not work. ATI is not a popular brand and because of that I play strictly NVidia. It doesn't matter how fast your card goes if it can't un the software.
  2. I am 29 and holding...
  3. I do have to say that Obsidian does indeed rock. The ending of their first game doesn't but they personally do. CHEERS!
  4. You must not have played Ultima 9, PoOR 2, ToEE or NWN.
  5. One post is good enough. You might want to delete the others.
  6. I always interpretted it as our equivelent profane word for a female dog.
  7. It is a droid ship and they have been used many times in the history of Star Wars EU. Not a big deal their. Hell in the Dark Empire comics they had dark side droid ships that were empowered by the consciousness of actual Imperial Fighter pilots. What was the point of this thread?
  8. Just keep in mind that not all games will be compatible with your hardware, just like not all games are compatible with Nvidia hardware. Its a bug yes, but a bug that will continue to happen in future games.
  9. Ironic, isn't it.
  10. Its not closed yet! I feel happy! (w00t)
  11. Well, it all started at the RPG Codex. Kidding aside, RPG COdex isn't a good place to have constructive discussion about CRPGs. Everyone knows that and while RPG Codex forums tend to be a cesspool of juvenile bickering and petty insults, if the people there can set aside their egos long enough it might actually be a keen place to go. Its no one person's fault that RPG COdex is the way it is.
  12. I would never abandon you!
  13. X-Box? SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!
  14. Um, you aren't supposed to do that.
  15. If I was in charge of LucasArts that is what I would push forward. It would require minimal of funds and resources to do and it would sell tons. In fact I am sure they would easily charge $50 to $60 for it and people would lap it up. They could also do a Game of the Year edition for the X-Box like Bethesda did for Morrowind with its expansions.
  16. It all depends on the content. It would be worth a second time if they have the full content and technical patches on the game, comes on DVD, the movie cutscenes remastered to play at a sharper resolution at DVD quality, has the Full stereo soundtrack audio CD from both games available, and KotOR 1 is packaged (also on DVD withthe remastered cutscenes) as well.
  17. Oh, Grommie, you know that is exactly how he likes it.
  18. As I said to other ATI users this is a problem with your card and drivers, not KotOR 2, but may it is. Bioware engines tend to have ATI problems when games using them are initally released. NWN 1 and KotOR 1 had ATI problems when they were first released. Wait for the patch and hope for the best.
  19. I don't count under 500 posts a lot, Exitium. Now, 6000 posts. That is alot.
  20. What Grandpa said. I also believe that the game uses SecuROM as copy protection. SOmeone correct me if I am wrong, but SecuROM has issues with certain types and brands of drives.
  21. I still don't really trust Bioware to make a good game. One game will not make up for NWN.
  22. Handmaiden, no doubt about it.
  23. It means you have a bad disc. You should take it back to where you purchased it and trade it in. If that is not an option it should still be under the limited warranty that you could send the discs to Lucas Arts and get a replacement. If that is not a possibility what I would do in such cases is to carefully copy the discs onto the harddrive and install from their. I hope this helps.
  24. The Odyssey Engine has always seem to have problems with ATI cards. I would wait for the patch and see that helps you out. Keep in mind that you use only the up to date official patches. That was my problems to begin with my NVidia card. In general however, if a game is using a Bioware based engine expect problems with ATI.
