No, it is not. When I was writing for my classes I used the PC that I have all my games on. I got my work done, completed, and on time with getting decent grades and pay to boot. All it takes is self control and discipline.

What era do most of your favorite titles come from
Judge Hades replied to Zach Morris's topic in Computer and Console
1997 to 1999, for the most part. There has yet been a game better than Fallout 1 and I doubt there ever will be. -
Which game is more buggy - KOTOR I or KOTOR II?
Judge Hades replied to Burnzzz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You forgett the third option which is the same. Once I got done redoing my drivers and properly updated them I had about the same problems I had with KotOR 2 that I had with KotOR 1 unpatched. -
Its a console, not a poor man's PC. Why should Microsoft allow them to patch the game. They should have gotten it right the first time.

KOTOR2 PC patch on the way!
Judge Hades replied to Lord Soviet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If this is going to be the style of Obsidian's games, NWN 2 looks leery, especially it has a way shorter development time compared to the first game. -
I am not judging Obsidian on just their first game, but it is not LucasArts first game, and Obsidian are full of veterans that know better. As I said, when they finish KotOR 2, that is when I will look forward to KotOR 3.

WHY HAS OBSIDION NOT REPLIED TO ANY OF THIS?
Judge Hades replied to Worldshaper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Right on. Obsidian, and developers in general need to adopt the "Its done when its done" mentality and tell publishers to back off. Sure the publishers won't like it and might withhold money at first but if developers, as a whole, stick by their guns and *gasp* unionize on some level they can force publishers to yield. -
Thing is this game made me not even care if there is going to be a KotOR 3, not that I cared much to begin with. I rather they fix KotOR 2 first, then worry about KotOR 3. Especially if they want to get my money. A game is only as good as the support it recieves and the gamers here are demanding FULL SUPPORT! If Obsidian wants to be another Troika, that is their business but we all know what happened to Troika in the end.

How the hell would you would propose that the X-Box get a patch since the game isn't Live ready?

KOTOR2 PC patch on the way!
Judge Hades replied to Lord Soviet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
When I see crap I state that it is crap. When I see something good, I state that it is good. The ending was crap. Blunt or not, it is being honest. If I see a friend with a burger hanging out of his nose, I would tell him that he has a burger hanging out of his nose. KotOR 2's ending is one giant burger. -
IGN Gives KOTOR 2 a 9.3!
Judge Hades replied to The Guildmaster's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Overall I give the game a C+, 78%, 7.8 overall. This game is nowhere near deserving a 9.3. -
KOTOR2 PC patch on the way!
Judge Hades replied to Lord Soviet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Doesn't matter if they bring out the patch or not for me. I have beaten the game and the ending really sucked so I have no real interest playing it again. -
I don't play First Person CRPGs. Hell, I played Morrowind completely in the third person. First person is for shooters only.

WHY HAS OBSIDION NOT REPLIED TO ANY OF THIS?
Judge Hades replied to Worldshaper's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally, I don't care about how long or how short the development cycle is. As a game player all I care about is the bottomline. That bottomline is how enjoyable the game is and the quality of its code. Do I solely blame Obsidian? No, of course not. LucasArts is to share responsibility equally for the game. -
KOTOR2 too short for my taste.
Judge Hades replied to Ludwig's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Volourn is right. This game should be retitled: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Munchkin Lords. What happened to good game balance? Also the game is way too short/ Minimum average gameplay should be 50 hours for a game such as KotOR 2, 60 to 70 if you do everything. -
Hey, at least the game is less buggy than Ultima 9 and ToEE.

Music is degraded to *MONO* 10kHz @ 48 kbit/s?!
Judge Hades replied to markussun's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I was able to solve my sound problems like this. Oh, this is for the Sound Blaster Audigy 2. 1: Remove all sound drivers from your computer. 2: Download all the Base EAX sound drivers. 3: Install them sequentially from the oldest to the newest. This really increased the sound performance of the game and my computer as a whole. -
DO NOT USE BETA DRIVERS! I don't think that this has to do with your problem here, but I tried using the ebta drivers, custom as they were, and I got a tons of CTDs, especially from Dantooine. I have the 66.93 official drivers and so far not a single graphical Runtime C++ crash since. I still get slowdowns though.

Lay off Obsidian, already!
Judge Hades replied to Hannigaholic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I am with Volourn on this one. FOr the goodness and the lameness of KotOR 2, both Obsidian and LucasArts share the responsibility. -
KOTOR2 PC patch on the way!
Judge Hades replied to Lord Soviet's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The patch have been in the works for a while now. It should be out soon enough, but some of the CTD problems I have had was fixed when I did a subsequent driver patching for both my sound card and graphics card. I have yet had a CTD or a graphical instability flair up since. -
What we can do about the state of TSL
Judge Hades replied to Dehumanizer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
When Leia was giving Luke the tongue on Hoth, that was just wrong. It was Star Wars going to the Kentucky backwoods. -
Bugs tend to happen randomly sometimes. Remember this creed of computer gaming: Save the game, then save the world.
-
That is the same card I have and I was having sound problems, then I saw that they have updated the drivers on their site so I am getting the full driver suite and installing them. There are a total of four drivers for the card, two for the normal audio play and 2 that are EAX specific. It is something you should check out.

KOTOR2: Hottest Female Character
Judge Hades replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Handmaiden, hands down. There is just something about a more than half naked chick beating the hell out of me. Um, did I say that aloud? Nevermind. EDIT: Okay, who the hell voted for Kreia? Was it you, Volourn? Sick bastard. -
Oh come off it. You make it sound like it is the end of the world or something. There have been plenty of other games that were more buggy when they were release than KotOR 2. Ultima 9, Pool of Radiance 2, Neverwinter Nights, Temple of Elemental Evil, and so forth and so on. A patch is being made so reign in the "I am never buying another game from them." Buggy games on release is not a big deal. How well they support the game afterwards is. If they don't support the game then I am in full agreement.
