I was reading that and while it presents and origin of the term it does not present how it came to extend from "people of Caucasus" to "white people." It's still regularly used in the US, which is ironic, as Anglo American and European American is often more fitting. Edit 1: But then again, I guess Europe has a rather awkward racial history. Nazi Germany pursuing the perfect Indo-Iranian being an example that still confounds me. And I have no clue how that relates to blonde hair/blue eyes. No clue at all. Edit 2: Apparently they believed Nords were the earliest Aryans. But... y'know, this is confusing.

I've always kind of wondered, and today I wonder with renewed interest, why are white people called Caucasian? Caucasus is practically in the middle east. Are we all supposedly Russian? What's up with that?

That thing you linked sounds like they want it to be easier for new players to access as well as quicker to start a game. Sounds like reasonable goals. It's not like 3.5e is going to stop existing with the new edition.

Whatever happened to action-RPG FPS games, anyway? The popularity of System Shock and Deus Ex should have yielded a slew of imitators that last to today. But the last one (and only that I know of, not counting its predescessor) we got was Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines. The Deus Ex sequel dropped the RPG elements, and I'd bet Bioshock has too.

There's a massive community waiting in the wings for a good sci-fi MMO. What are you talking about? All the old SWG players, Planetside players, EVE players who want something with an actual character.

MMORPG market isn't particularly flooded. Unless you're including the Korean ones.
