  1. Exactly. "Wrong and right" are moral judgements, not legal judgements. Nonsense. If "common sense" was worth anything, you should have had the common sense to realize that law does not define what's wrong or right. But, that's the flaw of "common sense."
  2. Of course we do. That is how opur laws work. Last I checked there are laws against slavery. Our laws work by seperating what's wrong from what's legal. That's the entire point of a jury and appeals process. (well, not ENTIRE point of appeals, but a large part of it) Last I checked, during the time of the institution of slavery, there weren't laws against slavery. That's how "always" works. It's applicable to all periods of time.
  3. If that was true, we wouldn't need a jury of peers or a Supreme Court. Was it truly wrong to teach slaves to read? Was it wrong of Anne Frank and her family to hide?
  4. I am saying that we have laws and they need to be obeyed. If they are broken laws then it is up to our elected officials to change them and our place to encourage them to do so, but until then they need to be obeyed and respected. Just because we may disagree with a law does not give us a right to break it. Just because a law has been passed does not mean the law is right, nor does it necessarilly mean it is wrong to break it. In the United States, the validity of a law is not simply based upon whether or not politicians have drafted then voted it into existence. The validity and rightness is based on it's ability to be enforced, the ability for a group of peers to convict for it, and the ability of it to withstand appeal.
  5. My copy of Persona 3 will be arriving the day after Bioshock is released. SON OF A!
  6. Nonsense.
  7. I've tried it. It just gets really wonky in the unsupported windowed mode. I mean REALLY wonky. Menu screen has a delay for mouse movement and when dialogue boxes appear I can't move my mouse outside of them. I might give it a try in fullscreen, though.
  8. I see no support for widescreen or windowed play.
  9. I didn't want their crummy limited edition crap, anyway.
  10. What do you mean? I already preordered it. Someone told me it's been delisted because it's sold out. So, that's what I mean! It's no longer even listed on Gamestop/EB.
  11. 10/10 isn't meant to say a game is "perfect." It's like 5 stars! 2 thumbs up!
  12. It looks like there isn't going to be a PC limited edition of Bioshock. That's kind of dissapointing.
  13. Absolutely no flaws whatsoever and that everyone who plays it absolutely loves it without reservation. If that's what is required for a 10/10, no game should make it past 7/10.
  14. Of course that should only account for 5 3/4 million.
  15. I imagine that the sale of entire Fallout franchise helped a bit.
  16. You can die.
  17. Quesadilla veggie burgers with fat free cheddar. Mmmmm
  18. Thanks to a strong diet of exercise, veggie burgers, celery, and carrots I've lost 5 pounds since Monday. That's actually a bit too fast, isn't it? Part of that must be water.
  19. I was reading that and while it presents and origin of the term it does not present how it came to extend from "people of Caucasus" to "white people." It's still regularly used in the US, which is ironic, as Anglo American and European American is often more fitting. Edit 1: But then again, I guess Europe has a rather awkward racial history. Nazi Germany pursuing the perfect Indo-Iranian being an example that still confounds me. And I have no clue how that relates to blonde hair/blue eyes. No clue at all. Edit 2: Apparently they believed Nords were the earliest Aryans. But... y'know, this is confusing.

  21. I've always kind of wondered, and today I wonder with renewed interest, why are white people called Caucasian? Caucasus is practically in the middle east. Are we all supposedly Russian? What's up with that?
  22. Would you expect the national chiropractor's association to comment on how bad he is, instead? Seems a bit outside their sphere.
  23. Sweet. Steam has Bioshock available for pre-purchase and it has the PC system requirements. I exceed the minimum!
  24. I scoff at technical problems! SCOFF! What I need to know is how well does the game support the sneaking lying murdering backstabbing jerk style of gameplay?
