  1. I'm currently on a sci-fi kick. I'm sick of futurist games that are nothing but space opera or fantasy IN SPACE. Where's my scientific basis, slower than light travel, invisible lasers, and non-human aliens? Instead it's all psychic powers, FTL, fanwank about how the lasers are actually plasma, and sexy aliens. I consider myself lucky when they're not using swords. I'd settle for modern games, though.
  2. They look good to me.
  3. Company of Heroes is pure awesome, Red Faction: Guerrilla is a really fun and unique romp and Saints Row 2 is pants on head crazy in a good way. Other stuff is so-so or crap(or Titan Quest). I already have Guerilla (free from a promotion with Darksiders). What's so good about Saints Row 2? I'm kind of sick of GTA sandbox games. Do you have an opinion on DoW 2 and Metro 2033?
  4. I liked Fallout 3. But not enough to buy any DLC. I actually considered getting the DLC not that long ago, but since I couldn't find it in myself to bother completing a second playthrough, I felt it was a bad idea.
  5. I'm thinking of picking up the THQ pack over Steam. It's $10 more than just buying Dawn of War II Gold and Metro 2033, the two games I particularly want. But I'll also get a bunch of other games I might like. Any opinions on the games in the pack?
  6. I've slipped back into TF2. I don't know why. I'm supposed to be doing Starcraft 2. Or my The Darkness replay. Or a KOTOR 1 & 2 replay. But no, it's Team Fortress 2. All over again.
  7. We knew that much.
  8. The sense of "presence" demonstrated on the show was only extra-sensory perception in that it was perception engaged by non-sensory means. In that way, I find the ESP to be a little broad. Such as UFO, is someone talking about alien spacecraft or simply something in the sky they haven't identified? We typically don't think of hallucinations as extra-sensory perception, but it's pretty similar.
  9. only it's not a strategic game Considering Dragon Age was created (or at least heavily hyped) as a throwback to Baldur's Gate 2, where Baldur's Gate 2 was expliticly an RTS/RPG hybrid, I'd say that it is. I'll concede the point if you're saying that it's not if they don't want it to be.
  10. Thanks Mikhail.
  11. I'm really looking forward to hardcore mode. Novelty alone. I haven't played a game that needed that since. I can't remember it at all.
  12. I'm an oddity. I actually prefer Origins to either ME games. Not that odd, I do as well. In fact, I HATE ME. ME2's good, but 1 I hate. Dragon Age: Origins made me like Bioware again. I hesitated to even get it, but Claudia Black...
  13. My avatar is animated. And I approve of this thread.
  14. If those unicorns can shoot lightning out of their horns, I'm sold.
  15. How do they cut something from a version that never had it?
  16. The cartoony artwork is part of the reason I like it. I absolutely abhore Diablo and Diablo 2. I have no interest in Diablo 3. But Torchlight I'm enjoying.
  17. Why did nobody tell me of this? I know I have two guys from this forum on my Steam Friends list. I just found myself wondering "Hey, where's Sand, what's that rascal up to? What handle is he using now?" I do a search for Sand and find this thread. "Who's Killian, I don't rememb... wait, no, it couldn't..."
  18. Don't mind me, just seething in rage behind a keyboard. I see talk of choice. In my mind, the important part of choice is including the choices your players will want to choose. How many people really wanted to tell old beardyface to piss off when he stabbed Jory? Not cool, dude. Not cool at all.
  19. People were never really hung up on starcraft story but on the way it was told. Script filled dynamically changing maps directly involving storyline heroes were a novelty at the time. High quality cutscenes didn
  20. That's precisely what I don't want to see. A campaign where the plot focus is .
  21. I'm cheating my way through Starcraft 1. Now I remember why I didn't enjoy the campaign. Even with cheating, missions take upwards of 12 minutes. With some taking 30 minutes. WHILE CHEATING Without cheating, the average mission would take a half hour minimum, with those others taking closer to an hour and a half. I'm not that patient.
  22. well, TW romances were more like bonuses, an extra dialogue line triggered to appear at predefined points, then you'd get a card and that's it, moving on. maybe it's the same in Bio games, but whenever I play them, getting the romance options feels like grinding. Biowarians have gotten quite good at making you believe everything you do in game builds up to a certain point where you finally get your reward. and it makes me sick. in TW you'd storm through locations, humping local beauties occasionally. yhis is how I like my games You seem to be confusing different things. There were two competing love interests in Witcher that had plot effect. This was in addition to the conquests or whatever you want to call them.
  23. Okay, you don't like it... But why? Because it's out of place. Jokes and such are all well and good but when you make snide political commentary on the current situation of the news media it just gets pretentious. Also, in game, Mengsk is supposed to have a great grasp of publicity and the power of the media, but the "Cover ups" are done so obviously I think that the population that watches have to be drugged not to see it. I thought that the entire Space Rednecks thing in SC1 was out of place.
  24. Probably why they use the HM short, so they don't have to change any stencils.
