  1. isn't it usually Ctrl-1 is to group things into group 1? Ctrl+# defines a hotgroup. Shift+# makes a combined selection of the currently selected units and # hotgroup. Not in DoW II. Ctrl+# works fine. However, to add a unit to the hotgroup, you have to select hotgroup first, then Shift+manually select unit to add. I'm getting the hang of it, though. Each unit you build is automatically assigned to the next increment hotkey. It seems to favor micromanaging units like that instead of just hotgrouping them altogether and wafflestomping the enemy.
  2. Played a couple of vs. comp games of the Dawn of War II beta. I don't know what's grating me the most. That the two maps I've tried so far feel cramped. Or that shift+1 doesn't combine that unit with the #1 hotgroup! Maybe it's that when my hero is down, my #1 hotgroup stops working altogether!
  3. Too many.
  4. Can't wait for thiiiis.
  5. You're new to multiplayer games, are't you? I love you. This is the same way I played it the first time, except I used a 360 pad. (second time I played it, I used a PS3 pad on my PS3). I'm currently playing Red Alert 3. Just started the Japanese campaign. The Japanese are show stealers in this game. The intro movie featuring them and their own campaign intro movie are the best vids there. The game did miss some potential in the campaign, though. Tiberium Wars had this awesome campaign showing the same events from different perspectives that highlight a story. Red Alert 3 doesn't really have much of a story aside from the backstory and the events of the campaigns don't connect at all.
  6. My boss gave me a copy of Warhammer Online. Up to level 4. Probably won't play past the 30 days. Beat Kane's Wrath. Playing, in no particular order: Tomb Raider Anniversary (should beat this first since I'm borrowing it). Neverwinter Nights: Storm of Zehir (am feeling a little directionless in the game, but I'm sure that'll clear up) STALKER Clear Sky Red Alert 3 (Okay, so I haven't installed it, but will give it a shot soon) X3: Terran Conflict (same as RA 3) Persona 4 (love the game, but am taking a break from it)
  7. Which is what makes him awesome. Heck yeah for TREASHU!
  8. Who actually speaks like that?!
  9. I been playing Kane's Wrath and Storm of Zehir. SoZ is intimidating me. I'm not entirely sure which quest I have is the main quest, but I'm sure the enemies are probably too high a level for me. Or rather, too high a level for my group's rogue, who keeps falling down. I need +2 armor.
  10. It's unfair, yes, but it's damned cool. Lobsters potentially can live indefinitely, barring disease and injury. It'd be amazing just to see how long a some particularly old lobsters can live before we kill and eat the dang thing. According to the wiki article, they grow throughout their lives and the largest one on record was twice the size of this 140 year old.
  11. Puke from the boomer looks like it can be spread. I'm not 100% sure of it, but I swear I did it once and I also got the achievement.
  12. He was German, he's in Munich. Said so earlier. He was doing that THE ENTIRE TIME! The very first map we were yelling at him to turn off the flashlight and he wouldn't do it. If my German were better maybe that would have had better luck. What was funniest about the guy is whenever he went down he'd start yelling "HELP ME, NOOBS!" I made my own share of mistakes in the game, of course. I startled a witch once because I didn't look around well enough before jumping into that field. And one of our failure times I jumped out of the house to try to rescue those two as they died when I should have just left them there.
  13. Storm of Zehir. If this PC lasts a week, I'll be playing L4D while trying to pick at Persona 4.

  15. There's several mods. Most of them are bloated with other crap I don't want.
  16. 1) The glowing balls are to power up Elika. When you have enough of them, you get to give her one of four new powers. There are 1,001 in all, but I think you only have to get 580 to unlock all four powers. 2) He cut down the tree to release the dark god. Why he did that is revealed when you unlock the third power. Tale, I didn't have to 'figure out' the combos. I went to the menu, clicked 'combinations' and it told me the various trees. My favorite so far is SSSESEGESEAEE S = sword E = Elika G = Gauntlet A = Acrobatic I swear when I looked at that, it left the ones I hadn't used yet as undiscovered or whatnot. But, anyway, unless you write them down good luck remembering it all! It's the touch memory you need.
  17. What?! Thats it? Are you 100% sure? What he said is misleading. Your combos aren't locked in any sense, but it is up to you to figure out how to chain. There's particular combos that allow you to chain into another combo, which can be another chainable combo, etc. I loved that game so much.
  18. It's not a constant barrage of one lame joke repeated ad nauseaum, hero. That's the number one improvement. They toned that down a little. The entire backdrop of Fable was so moronic that it caused my brain to ache. Thankfully, this game has, in its backstory, that all that crap was burned to the ground by people who realized how useless the people in the first game were. And that the hero of the first game, in a fit pf not putting up with that anymore either, went nuts and killed the old guildmaster carving "YOUR HEALTH IS LOW" into his forehead. .
  19. Played lots of Persona 4 the past two weeks. Taking a break until my Strategy Guide arrives tomorrow and to play Storm of Zehir.

  21. Installed and updating. So, did it exceed all expectations or just 75% of them?
  22. Hated Fable, love Fable II.
  23. Played an hour or two of Resistance 2 last night. Sadly, it didn't improve in the areas I really wanted it to. First impressions: Visuals Good: There's some more color. I just happened upon a colorful 1950s american burg. Bad: Still overusing the sepia filter. Lots of pixelation on my 46". Gameplay Good: Much the same as Resistance. Tense assault set pieces and ambushes. Bad: Too much the same as Resistance. Boss fights that are either trial and error or trial-until-lucky.
  24. The rules of the game aren't generally meant to be the defining physics of that game's fictional world. But a conduit through which the player can experience that world. You can't have every option available to AI available to players because then you have a lot more work making sure those options don't break things. You can't limit AI to only the options you give players because then your encounter design options become incredibly limited.
  25. I kind of miss my 3.5e Warlock. But I won't scoff at the 4e version.
