  1. That reminds me, I need to finish my new Doom 3 replay.
  2. Every permutation possible, you say? Then why did I have to settle for a Renegade Shepard that had a stupid name? Because there were no male 100% completion renegades with the default name, that's why! If I try looking for a 100% completion Paragon, I'll probably end up finding default names, but they'll all be female. Mark my words. Or they'll have romanced someone obnoxious (which is any of the romances).
  3. I need to replay Mass Effect. Honestly, I hate the game, but I want a perfect save for future stuff. When I did my Renegade ME2 run I saw some new stuff that I never saw in my first run because I missed the quest or something.
  4. It does look good. But I don't really care that Liara is involved.
  5. for those who don't know this is basically that we shouldn't be constantly increasing our population and should work to lower the amount of people per generation. It's usually proposed by those who are seriously worried about overpopulation which I can understand. He was a bit more extreme than that. Here's some quotes. "All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs
  6. Supposedly the suspect has been shot and is in custody. All three hostages safe. According to CNN banner.
  7. His manifesto mentions how he wants Discovery Channel to promote sterilization and infertility. To stop idealizing birth and the birthing process. And keeps referring to human offspring as some equivalant of filthy.
  8. I was completely unfamiliar with Malthus before reading about this. But the context of it frightens me. He's rather against humans in his manifesto, which leaves me uncertain on whether he respects human life.
  9. Check any news outlet right now. I'm browsing a few. Seems a man, identified as environmentalist protestor James Lee, has entered into the Discovery Channel headquarters and taken hostages. He has a "device" strapped to his body and reportedly a gun. He has an online manifesto demanding Discovery Channel change its programming to, among other things, support an anti-war and anti-baby agenda. Reading the manifesto, the main thing I get out of it is that this man is quite emotional. And that makes the entire thing all the scarier.
  10. Tale is prone to opening wrong doors. But he should have been the last to die nontheless. Cowardice is in his nature.
  11. I am such a terrible shameless Claudia Black fanboy. Witch Hunt is now my most anticipated game of the year.
  12. I think I already did that. If not, I should make up for it.
  13. *shudder* ...BLUR Morrigan...
  14. By second area I mean I could see the starting city. Too much grind.
  15. One of these days I need to give Max a tophat and monocle.
  16. I think I got to the second area of FF XI before realizing it was awful.
  17. I think he called Michael Jackson a white guy but I don't really remember. >_
  18. You can kill another dragon in DAO.
  19. Those horns look like headdress. Or heavy winds.
  20. I said more options than real life, not "exactly like real life." But even Earth alone is far more than an empty rock, having diverse biomes to explore by itself, jungles, oceans, deserts, more cities than you can shake a stick at. Add on terraforming concepts, domed/underground colonization, and space stations, for beyond earth destinations you've got well more than "empty rock." The plots of harder sci-fi are quite varied. First contact, robot rebellion, transhuman war, interplanetary war, generation ship colonization and survival, etc. Seems a bit more diverse than Space Opera's evil empires and aliens coming to destroy all life as you know it, which are largely used as retreads of fantasy tropes.
  21. I'd hardly qualify "countless more options than real life" as all that limited. Most sci fi writers don't even use what they have intelligently, settling for planet of hats and single biome planets. You can do all of that with a single planet and species, let alone an entire solar system, no rubber foreheads or FTL needed for that bit.
  22. Not really. Would you consider Firefly 20 minutes into the future? As a setting, it fit Sci-Fi, but didn't focus on science related speculation. What I'm describing is Sci-Fi that actually knows what Sci-Fi is about. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main...OfSciFiHardness A rating of 4 or higher would be nice. Even 3 would be acceptable. Mass Effect and Star Wars hang at 2 on their best days.
  23. Does not compute. Just a thought, but maybe you don't want a sci-fi game? What part of that doesn't compute? Is it the part where I'm wanting Sci-Fi or the part where what I want is Sci-Fi?
  24. Computer's back just in time for Sam & Max: The City That Dares Not Sleep.
  25. I'm waiting for a Sci-Fi game that's Sci-Fi, not Space Opera or a Flight Sim. Something that doesn't do FTL, energy weapons, sound in space, humanoid aliens, psychic powers, and a billion other things. And I would prefer it be a good one with some narrative focus, choices, and RPG staples. There's technically a lot of games that are harder than Star Wars, but the narrative in them is all excuse plot. Red Faction, Killzone, etc.
