  1. I'm looking forward to Fable III. I rather enjoyed II after hating the first.
  2. I need to start more arguments over the internet... Just keep in mind that by 'catgirls' he meant 'furries'. Now, if that's your thing, great for you. Most of us avoid internet arguments for exactly that reason. The old bait and switch!
  3. I did Energy Guns, Stealth, and maybe Science. I'm kind of sick of stealth though.
  4. Oooh, or a "complete nutter" trait. Everytime you go to sleep, a different set of skills is set up for you. At random, but intelligently so it's not a useless set. I might have to see if I can mod that in. Every day you're a different character!
  5. I don't know what kind of character to plan for. It's really hard for me to figure out what to do in games, nowadays. I've got anti-hero ideas, intellectual ideas, and idealist ideas. For this game, I want to go with a cowboy assassin, but I also want to be a passive scientist with energy weapons as a fallback. The problem tends to be that I'll roll one up, then start playing as the other halfway through. I guess what I'm saying is that I want a multiple personality trait. Pick two distinct character builds, but the game randomly determines which one is available at any given time!

    Books

Still reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide. I'm at Mostly Harmless, hopefully it'll be done by Friday so I can get started on And Another Thing. Gauntlgrym is on its way. I'm a big fan of Salvatore's Drizzt books, but not without my criticisms. Those journal entries written by Drizzt that introduce chapters are consistently painful to read, just because it's naval gazing and often feels like author tract (Drizzt criticizes others for seeing their god's avatar because faith in the unseen is somehow better, yet he even saw his god's avatar in a previous book. The hypocrisy is recognized just long enough to retcon it as a delusion. The promotion of faith in the unseen seems out of place for Forgotten Realms). I really disliked three of the last four books, Road of the Patriarch, Pirate King, Ghost King. But since I found the rest of the books to be terrific fun, I'll give this one a try. I'm hoping it'll recapture the fun. I prefer Kemp for Forgotten Realms, but it's a shame that he and Wizards had a falling out. I am looking forward to his Star Wars: The Old Republic book in... March? I think.
  7. I need to start more arguments over the internet...
  8. I'm sorry, I can't read your post because you didn't start it with a wingding Y colored red. You should have known that. GAME OVER
  9. I appear to have an ingrown toenail. Woke me up last night about 5. Played with a nail file, then I went back to sleep. Woke me up today at 4:30. Some ice, some scissors, some nail file, still can't get back to sleep.
  10. What happened to the time when people didn't abuse the word canon? Or lore?
  11. Yeah, it probably had like 4. 4 1/2, maybe.
  12. I think I want to play Neverwinter Nights 2 again. I love that game. I'm still hoping Obsidian does something else with Forgotten Realms, just so we can get more Mephasm.
  13. The Gamespot review seems to be a guy who never played the original, because all of his complaints existed in it as well. That's an odd criticism of a review. Pointing out that bad things about it aren't newly bad. In my opinion, the original sucked. Why could I not then point out that XIV sucks as well?
  14. My chair just broke. I guess that's to be expected for $20.
  15. I went ahead and ordered the collector's edition from Gamestop.com. Really would have preferred Amazon, but they're out of PC. :'( With Amazon I could get cheaper shipping and no tax. Gamestop? Yeah, it cost me about 90 total.
  16. Lots of "Aim Left Stick + X to get to next handhold." Just played the Castlevania Lords of Shadow demo. Seemed good, but didn't exactly stand out.
  17. I'd hardly call Gollum a selling point.
  18. Just played the Enslaved demo. Platforming reminds me of Uncharted. Combat wasn't too involved in the demo. Characters didn't prove very likeable, but the setting has me intrigued.
  19. If that makes Australia exciting, Texas is a blast. You know what beats poisonous spiders? Rabid opossums.
  20. I'm glad you agree.
  21. All I want is value. If you're going to make a dilemma, then it needs to be a dilemma. If there's a happy solution, then let's not pretend the unhappy ones are worth anything. I like them both. I absolutely adore happy endings. But I have trouble finding a dilemma worth its salt. But no, the point of games is not to give a happy escape from reality. That's the point of some games. Other games may have distinctly different objectives.
  22. Never, ever, joke about dingoes.
  23. My concern is that it might be too much of putting your eggs in one basket. Even the people who support the change seem to defend it as "Dragon Age needs to be more like Mass Effect." Lack of diversity can be strong for a while, but it tends to backfire unexpectedly. That can be sooner or later. That assumes, of course, that the similarities between the properties will continue to converge as everyone seems to fear or hope they will (whichever side your camp is on).
  24. Yeah, they need more explosions and car chases.
  25. Domination gets pretty easy if you let everyone beat each other up first. I kind of lucked out in my domination game in that the only person who fought against me before fighting other people was Babylon. America and Russia fought England first. And Rome and Persia had been in war for half the game. So nobody (but Babylon) had the resources to put up a good fight (though Russia had some on their second attack).
