  1. Well, I was there. So that was something.
  2. Because more stuff happened in Origins than what simply happened to the PC. The state of kingdoms and god babies rests in the saves!
  3. With Team Fortress 2's update, Halo: Reach has passed its prime and is going on the shelf. So sad to see you go, I still don't have the helm I want. But your multiplayer is simply too shallow. I've got two of the new weapons already. Sydney Sleeper and Degreaser. Sleeper is fun, it's a sniper rifle that can't headshot but has a chance of inflicting jarate effect based on charge. And apparently it has penetration! Now nobody can complain about me bodyshotting. Suckers. Degreaser isn't too exciting. Less damage for faster weapon switch. Makes it an axtinguisher's best friend, but I was more of a hammer guy.
  4. I'm hazarding a guess.
  5. Written by an assistant professor of law. I'm not sure it's his field.
  6. But it's good to let people act like a jerk, sure beats enforced politeness. Depends. Are the jerks obnoxious gits who destroy every thread they enter, including the countless threads they start demanding attention? Or are they the kind of jerk that stops after 10 minutes to say "oh ****, man I'm annoying" and stops. I'd rather have the former banned and gone.
  7. Team Fortress 2 has a new update.
  8. I believe in rational and skeptical inquiry. I don't know or understand a lot of the evidence behind the various beginning of the universe theories, such as Big Bang or M-Theory's branes. But I'm open to them and curious about what will be found to support them.
  9. Played some Halo: Reach in co-op Legendary yesterday. Tilt is on, why are you shooting elites with the assault rifle, people?
  10. I'm with you on that. It really should start and stop with establishing shots. And even those are unnecessary.
  11. Why anybody anywhere thinks these are a good idea is completely beyond my comprehemsion. It's kind of a compromise. Non-interactive cinematics aren't always the best of ideas (exceptions, but far fewer than most recognize). But many developers also insist on trying to be cinematic. Which means camera angles and unique movies that make standard controls useless. Thus they implement a basic action interaction, QTEs.
  12. Saw the leaked footage. Less than impressed. But it's early, so who knows.
  13. I played that game so much it was ridiculous. A guilty pleasure I had for a few months.
  14. Stargate Universe had the season premiere last night. Squee. Not overly different from what I expected given how last season ended.
  15. I would never have tried ME2 if I hadn't liked Dragon Age. I never would have considered buying Dragon Age if As I hated Mass Effect. Heck, I bought that Dragon Age book, Stolen Throne. Couldn't get past the second chapter.
  16. I think my cycle is different. [Get really excited] -> [Hate it] -> [Give up Bioware games] -> [Find some silly reason to try a new one, end up liking that one] -> [Repeat] Seriously. I'm due for a hate stage. I liked the last two. Two in a row? Man am I going to be enraged by the next game.
  17. No fans of the berserker theory? :'(
  18. It's an interesting concept for what it implies about the person asking. There's the obvious implication that the asker is only moral by threat. I can't recall the name of the cognitive bias, but there's one where people tend to overestimate others similarity to themselves. I've read of interesting studies where you get people to accurately describe themselves by having them describe assumptions of other people.
  19. But otoh, there's Oscuro's which basically saved the game for me. I didn't really care about the gameplay. Nothing could fix the butchered setting. That's cool. I was just the opposite: Bethie's lore does nothing for me; I just wanted the gameplay fixed so I didn't feel like I had thrown my money down the drain. I wanted the exploration fixed. :'( I lost any interest in exploring dungeons when I realized all loot either scaled or rusty iron. No more glass daggers by sneaking into Daedra shrines.
  20. "Regular joes" get arrested for that kind of thing.
  21. Dear god, the original Halo is more dated than I remembered.
  22. What about a police officer who pretends to be a person? Instead of a mindless tool for suppressing the proletariat? (just standing in for LoF here) Well, that should be punishable too. I mean, you can't just not suppress the proletariat.
  23. Oh, well that makes sense then. The stomach is very sensitive to time travel, while the back has that whole dimension jumping organ.
  24. The extended cut makes the movie have much more sense/coherency. Let those who hate Alien 3 hate it, I liked it (the extended version). I'm a slight fanboy of that director. He's the guy behind Fight Club and Seven! So I take him at his word when he hurls insults at Fox.
  25. What about Captain America's getting shot with a bullet in the brainpan sending him to another dimension? Or was that just back in time, too? I can never remember. Omega beams I can understand. They're like magic beams. But Cap got a bullet to the noggin.
