  1. I've been working through some of the games I'd picked up during steam sales. So far I've worked through Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and Kane and Lynch 1 & 2. Trying to decide now whether to play through LA Noir or the Hitman series next.

  4. Canada isn't a state, it's a mythical land full of snow, beautiful women, mounties and quality television shows.
  5. It could be the end of the Monkey Island franchise, that's pretty horrible at least.
  6. I guess I'd try for a supermarket to stock up food then a boat. I can't imagine people being able to get supplies and then move to a safe location unless they live really close to either though because everyone will have the same idea.
  7. That means they will not put equal work into Project Eternity as it is not their first title and they have already made their impact? Yes that's exactly what I'm saying. No doubt Obsidian and Bioware work hard on all their projects and they both have a lot of pride in what they do, but Obsidian's job security isn't at risk with Eternity to the degree it was with kotor 2.
  8. I think the main difference between KOTOR2 and DA2, while both being 'let's make a game in under a year and reap massive profits on the name of franchise alone', is that Obsidian is competent has workers who like making fun games and that BioWare is full of people who don't want to play a fun game (like Hepler) or don't know how to make one. We need a "dislike this" button. Bioware are competent and have made some of the better RPGs of the past two decades. They also made the game engines that Obsidian used for kotor 2 and nwn2. I prefer Obsidian games because I prefer Obsidian's style but lets not forget that one of the reasons Obsidian put so much work into kotor 2 was because it was Obsidian''s first title and that they needed to make an impact with it. I'm sure the DA2 team worked hard but I doubt they had as much riding on it.
  9. Frasier Spin City Boston Legal The Venture Bros. Chuck Family Guy Stargate Atlantis If I were to go in to detail I'd be saying mostly the same things about all of these. But they're consistantly well written and executed and all of these show are great at a range of emotional tones even though for the most part they focus on comedy. It's not that I'm only into comedy shows but I think the ones that I can re-watch the most are definately the ones that make me laugh.

  11. Yeah, unfortunately it would have to be a spiritual successor because Sega hold the rights to AP don't they? The bastards. Who knows, maybe Obsidian can buy the rights back some day? A spiritual successor might not be so bad though, I mean given the number of possible deaths and other important variables you'd think a proper sequel would be starting largely from scratch anyway.
  12. Tell her if she's looking for the boy he won't actually show up until the next chapter even though the journal gives no indication of that
  13. Congrats to Obsidian, it was great to be a part of it.
  14. Me too, I hope Obsidian get to make another horror RPG as some of the snippets sounded quite original.
  15. When you say an Alien game, do you mean the Sigourny Weaver Alien franchise or something else?
  16. Apparently the DA3 team might conclude Hawke's story in Inquisition now that the expansion has been cancelled. I'm looking forward to seeing where that thread leads.
  17. I'd forgotten about that, haven't bought anything from there since DA2 DLC. It does suck. Dude, try to at least approach DA2 with an open mind, there's a surprising amount of RPG veterans who've found in enjoyable in spite of its faults, they just don't come here (any longer) Some of us do. And as Nephante said it's a good game, I've not played Mark of the Assassin but imho if you go for Dragon Age 2 you ought to get the Legacy and The Exiled Prince DLCs with it.

  19. The other rumoured SP pack back in the day was Collectors (in fact, it might have been collectors in concert with the Omega DLC, so it might be just the one), so it would kind of make sense for them to reuse the assets. Certainly if they've dragged out Harbies' voice actor it could be a sign that he's coming back for a little more direct contro... Nobody else was disappointed he didn't assume anything in the trailer? Lost opportunity! The music in the trailer (and the trailer in general) was excellent, it's a shame if they don't carry any of that over into single player. The new content looks aces but until they fix the disconnect bug it's more of a tease for me.
  20. Someone remade the Icewind Dale campaign in the NWN2 toolset complete with the original voice acting and music.

  23. Out of interest, and I know this might vary widely from project to project but when paypal donations start being accepted roughly how large a spike is there in donations? I don't mean a specific number but do the paypal figures usually make a sizable impact on the graph or is it usually just a small addition?
  24. It was rather bland for me. It didn't deserve the kicking it got but it felt like poor excecution in a bunch of places.
