  1. I think/hope they may do more Blackwell games after the 5th as well, the story twist at the end of Deception was pretty large and open ended.
  2. I don't necceserally think that they thought the Courier has amnesia, they were focusing on dropping the "1st act", "getting to know who you were" part of the story and saying that the story was weaker for that. It certainly could have been an implication but I the impression I got was that they were lazily using the "amnesia" plot device term to wrap up many different ways videogames have of dropping act 1. I disagree with what they were saying though in NV's case, I enjoyed New Vegas' story much more than Fallout 3 and think it was a lot deeper and more skillfully excecuted in every single way. Act 1 was surely everything that happened with the factions and the area leading up to the start of the game though? edit: One minuet too late. Arghhhhh!
  3. I don't know but as someone who works in the industry I think that Windows 8 is a solid and stable OS, like Windows 7. Now Vista was problematic. We have customers who have deployed Windows 8 to all there users (20k + users) and there have been very few issues. So I'm sure you'll be fine
  4. In almost every case mouse and keyboard are far better for FPS games than a controller.
  5. Double Fine Adventure Wasteland 2 Xenonaughts Starship Coporation Project Eternity Shadowrun Returns Dreamfall Chapters (PayPal link, kickstarter still running but ends in less than two days)
  6. I sometimes wondered whether my dad was the only person on the planet who played Steel Panther games. He'll be glad to know he's not the only one out there. Are you kidding me, it is still the one and only TBS, the king of the hill, I know of a bag full of people who played and loved it. Your dad? How are you? Did you like it, if you played it? In this age of TB making a return, are there really no more people that recognize it? I'm 27. I did try one of the older Steel Panther titles back around the time Mech Warrior 2 was released but I could never get into it. I think it's down to a lack of patience, I do enjoy TB games but I prefer smaller scale and faster paced ones like Blood Bowl, Frozen Synapse, Jagged Alliance ect. My father on the other hand is really into TB games that mimic tabletop wargames so things like Steel Panther are ideal for him although he loves the Civilization series almost as much. Not sure if you'd be interested but my favourite WW2 stratergy game was Blitzkrieg 2, it had a lot in common with dawn of war 2 actually and in some ways did things much better, the multiplayer skirmishes especially were a highlight of my gaming experience and provided so many options and stratergies for teamwork.

  9. Here are a couple of other links to kickstarters where you can pre-order/slackerback; Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Xenonaughts, Starship Coporation and Project Eternity. Might be useful to make a thread if other people can think of titles worth mentioning.

  11. The new Thundercats was awesome. I wouldn't mind an RPG in the setting. Looks too anime-ish for me. Like a furry version of Legend of Korra. Original Thundercats looked badass rather than the teenagers they are now. And it wasn't entirely family friendly either, Mumm'Rah's awakening used to give me nightmares (but all villains were pretty brutal). Both versions look pretty bad to me tbh. Also, I'm glad it's not the 80's anymore.
  12. They said it recently but according to Fargo at least, before the Wasteland and Project Eternity kickstarters they were telling developers to take a hike.
  13. a Warhammer: Total War would be beyond awesome. insta day 1 preorder purchase special edition kickstart etc fingers crossed It was actually confirmed a while ago that Creative Assembly are making a Warhammer game so it's definitely happening.
  14. I agree with the principle of what you guys are saying, but on the other hand I now have a killer craving for cheese burgers and wish that we had something similar in the area. They may be unhealthy but they look delicious.
  15. You guys don't really think Crucible will happen do you? Sega has already hired Creative Assembly to make a Dead Space inspired Aliens game, Crucible would compete with that quite heavily so I mean, I can't picture it happening, especially not Sega selling the rights to Obsidian so that they can compete with Sega.
