http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=639 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even if it had never been said in an interveiw I would think they would make you work for it, I mean come on they are going to make you run around for most of the first level without clothes or armor so I would think a light saber would be just as hard to find. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nothing is ever hard in Kotor. But the start is usually annoying as in all games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess thats a poor choice of wording on my part, I wasn't meaning it would be hard as in challenging but hard as in taking a long time to find. I wonder what is so speacial about the PCs lightsaber?

If I am not misstaken the devs have said that there will be some NPCs that you can't effect. I would guess since everyone knows that you can't really effect a droid I am guessing that they were meaning that there would be non-droid NPCs that couldn't be effected when you change alignment. though I could be wrong on this, It would seem to make sense though since having an HK model in battle would be ok, but unless they have done some serious upgrades to T3 I am guessing he is just as useless in battle as he was in the first game. So to be left with just the two of them would be odd to say the least, then agian how many people are going to change alignments 4 times during the game play like in the senerio yo listed above? I would think that they would have also made it that you would have to be fairly far into the oposite alignment before a party member would leave the PC.

I was thinking more along the lines of Kreia and Atton, they both join the party early on and will more than likely stay with you through most of the game. Or maybe the apprentice will stay regaurdless of alignment (saying we can get an apprentice). But I guess this is one question that either has to be answered by a dev of answered the first couple playthroughs of TSL.

Give KOTOR2 non-Jedi NPCs a chance?
Stargate: 2000 replied to Jeremiah's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wasn't it said someplace awhile ago that there would be force pockets in the game? or am I completely wrong on this? oh and what exactly are force pockets? -
I don't think that's a very good way to handle it, though. The Dark Side is supposed to be seductive and powerful to even the greatest of the Jedi; if it simply destroyed all their advantages when they embraced it, then the only Dark Side users would be the people who started as Sith. Just as Anakin Skywalker could become Darth Vader and be powerful in both incarnations, so room must be left for players who want to start out Light and slide into the Dark, or vice versa. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think the stronger a Jedi master is the less susceptible he is to the DS. As the name implies he/she is a master of the light side. I don't understand a player who has already gone the long and hard way to become a Jedi Master and then, without a comprehensible reason, behaves like a schizophrenic maniac. So I don't have any problems with a game that doesn't allow for such strange careers. By the way, Anakin has never reached the rank of Jedi Master. He's been a young padawan/knight with let me say "mental problems". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The problem with beliving that once you reached the level of Jedi Master that you would be less susceptible to going dark is (I would think anyway) more than a little off, I mean there is always the old adage "power corupts and absolute power corupts absolutly!". I would think that a Jedi master would be more likely to fall because of the fact that they do have so much power. Now as to what Obsidian would do when you fell to the DS well I guess the only thing they could do (since I think its been said that once you choose a prestige class you can't change it) is to apply a heavier than normal penalty on the force powers you choose to use. As to the NPCs well its been said that you will be able to corupt some of them into following you from one side to the other, So while some may leave I would think that obsidian would make sure that atleast the base NPCs would stay with you to ensure you have a chance to finish the game.

Knights of the New Republic

Why couldn't they set it 4000 years in the future of ROTJ that way all those who choose to live their lives based on the EU scriptures wouldn't be offended! Goosh another magic formula of the anti-EU movement. Used first by an old liar Obi-Wan to cover his obvious lie, now by Leferd to cover the fact that EU (despite few mistakes) is quite coherent in its timeline and there are no points of view. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Acctually thats you opinion as to there only being EU and no points of veiw, but the truth be told with every person who picks up the books they will have their own perspective into the EU. I know I don't know anything about EU but I can speak when it comes to other comics like spiderman and superman I mean with every person who picks them up likes different characters, different story lines, etc. and when things change they will either except it or bitch about it, for a good example of this I would have to mention the Clone saga in spiderman, its too long to go into detail but, a lot of people thought it was the worst idea because it changed the history of spiderman a fair bit, others liked it because of the same reason. So it just goes to show that everyone has a different opinion on what they call important. -
ok whats the with 2009 release prodiction?

Why exactly would you be worried about that? I mean if nothing else it would make the game better, unless you PC users are worried that (for a short time atleast) your computers wont be able to keep up with it. So people know the specs as listed below

I want a Basalisk war droid!
Stargate: 2000 replied to metalheadnerdguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think it would be more interesting to say last one left alive wins, since the basalisks likely worn't build for speed. -
Don't trust any other source than Lucasarts when it comes to the releasedate of KotOR II. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> man I really hate pouring salt in an open wound but, have you already forgot the release date debocal?

Man I think its time you cut down on the southpark! M'Kay! -
acctually ditto is an old term when it started I don't know but I know it was used in the 80's anyway (ever see the movie Ghost?). If you were asking why was he agreeing its because he I guess was wondering how a finnish phrase was chosen to be used in star wars. As to what ditto means that I explained sort of anyway as did jedipodo.

About the only thing I remember hearing about him was that he was the one with the pet, other than that I don't think they have said anything else. Though I could be wrong.

Knights of the New Republic
Stargate: 2000 replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ok I was with you upto the the point where you said that the trekies would join force with the hords following Kevin J. Anderson and Michael A. Stackpole and be corrupted. Since I am a trekie and first off I haven't got a clue who they are , but I don't think We trekies would be swayed so easily to the dark side. -

Since canderous rode through atmosphere of a planet straped to the droid I would doubt that it would even fit in the ebon hawk let alone be a petable size. -

One thing I was wondering was how many different areas there was going to be in TSL (i.e. non-planets)?
-
Actually 6 out of 7 Telos Dantooine Korriban Dxun Onderon Nar Shaddaa Not sure if Peragus counts as a planet. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> we also really can't be sure if Dxun counts as a planet yet (I know they have it listed under "planets" on the LA page but still). Some people have mentioned that it could be just another part of the onderon world (like the taris sewers or the sith base on mannaan) mainly because you only need a shuttle to get there and not a trip through hyperspace.
