Has it been said that there are going to be class specific skills???? I know that the sentinal class will get more skill points but I never heard that there was going to be skill that only one could get. Because I would think that persuade would be important to all classes, same with treay injury. as for the others they are all important to a lesser degree. I would think that the Gaurdian would have the second highest skill points mainly because they are front line Jedi unlike the counsulars who would normaly sit on the side lines and make a lot of the important decisions. If I had to make a list I would put it like this. Computer use - sentinal Repair - sentinel Awareness - guardian, sentinal, counsular Treat injury - guardian, sentinal, counsular Demolitions - guardian, sentinal Security - sentinel, counsular Stealth - guardian, counsular Persuade - guardian, sentinal, counsular

PRIMA Strategy Guide for KotOR2
Stargate: 2000 replied to SmkJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I would doubt that they would make a speacial DVD version of the game, though they make at a later date include the DVD in with the game in a speacial collectors edition of the game. that way they can make as much money as possible off of the general gaming public. Nope not what I said, what I was saying was that at EB games they are selling both versions for the according prices listed above. whether or not other places are selling them, I am not sure mainly because I haven't looked anywhere else since in my area there is only an EB games, and I don't have a credit card to be able to order online. -
PRIMA Strategy Guide for KotOR2
Stargate: 2000 replied to SmkJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sorry to burst your bubble on this one but at EB GAMES anyway there are two different versions of the guide one selling for $16.99 US and the one with the DVD which is selling for $24.99. So it looks like they are just trying to make any and all money they can off of us poor gamers. -
PRIMA Strategy Guide for KotOR2
Stargate: 2000 replied to SmkJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
anyone have anyidea how much the stratagey guide is going to cost? I mean the one with the DVD ofcourse. (just checked and its $24.99 US) I was just on the ebgames website and was looking at the LOTR: Third Age game when I noticed that it (atleast one copy which is the same price point as KOTOR TSL) is shipped with a DVD this is the qoute from the site page "Order and receive a free bonus DVD! DVD includes: Mini Strategy Guide, Exclusive cheat codes, Feature Presentation-Making of the Game, and Online downloads. Bonus item will ship with purchased product, and is only available while supplies last. Only available online." So why couldn't TSL be packaged with their DVD strategy guide? since thats what most of us will buy the guide for anyway. -
actually she wasn't saying that Velocitygirl was lying, in truth she was merely wanting someone else to corroberate what Velocitygirl was saying. The main reason for this is because, as I am sure you know, things have been said on these boards without any verification and caused havoc until either a dev or someone else could either prove them correct or incorrect. So I see no problem with what she was saying as it helps keep the board from getting caught up in spam wars. Now with all that being said I agree that perhaps the tone in what she was saying was perhaps a little bit more double edged than was needed but it wasn't uncalled for. And just to clear things up I am not saying Velocitygirl is lying either I am mearly stating that after reading the posts I felt that nightclever had justification in questioning what velocitygirl was saying to be fact without atleast asking for someone else to corroberate it. ALso I think that part of the reason why she might have been questioning it is because no one wants the entire party to be killed off (some yes but not all - also I am not counting T3 simply because we already know he is coming back). Personally I don't want the characters from KOTOR to be killed off, but if in someway it will adavance the plot of TSL by killing them and that there is a damb good reason as to how and why they died then yes by all means KILL THEM!! but if there isn't then I am going to be more than a little upset at the fact that they would choose to do such a thing after all the time we all put into the precious game. I also have to agree with SilverSun on the fact that OXM could have merely seen one side of the gameplay (i.e. Dark Side) and thus everyone is dead, because as many have already said that the devs have said repeatedly that there will be cameos from the KOTOR crew (certain ones atleast) during the course of the game based on the PCs choices at the begining of the game. So until I can get a dev to respond to this topic and say for sure that everyone from KOTOR is dead and burried or I get the game and beat it, I choose to belive that they will apear atleast in passing at some point in the game.

I was wondering the samething myself, But my local EB games told me that they get their games from the US head office so when TSL comes out they will have it at the same time as their US counterparts do. I know I am nit picking here but we all wouldn't be here on the boards if we didn't atleast have access to a comp at some point in the day .

It would be interesting. I think it could work but I would imagine that it would be a one on one battle. But with all that being said I don't think that Obsidian would kill off Sion that early in the game (I am guessing that you wouldn't even have your prestige class that early in the game). I think it would also be an interesting idea is if they could (as another poster mentioned) take control of one of the party members and then insist that the PC fights them.

I wonder if the devs are going to cut the DLC for the PC version? I know it would piss off alot of people if they did... myself included since I think I will be purchasing the PC version at a later date (ofcourse I will be getting the Xbox version in Dec (w00t) ). Has anyone heard for sure one way or the other yet?
-
Simply put LA decided to push up the production time for the Xbox version so they would have atleast one to boost christmas sales, and since North America has the highest level of gamers they decided to release it there. Now as to why they chose the Xbox version over the PC verison I could only guess that it would be because it would take longer to bug test and system test for the PC version than the carbon copy Xbox. SO to sun everything up its because of MONEY that they chose the NA Xbox over everyone else.

Hey we do know something about them, they all can join the party just not all at the same time.... and some are male and some are female, did I forget anything? "

Go to the hyperlinks below to see the wallpapers I was talking about I couldn't find any screens with the disciple in the them so I was wrong on that one, but the wallpapers both show a male PC and the disciple. Though its possible that they could just showing the differences between good and evil in the game but I think that they are acctually showing the partial party makeup. Wallpaper DS Wallpaper LS

well that can kinda be ruled out since the new screen saver as well as some screens it apears that you can get the disciple regaurdless of gender.

yeah but the way things are going by the time KOTOR 6 comes out you will have someone who will finish the game at level between 151 and 640 (151 is by taking one half of the prior max level and adding it to the prior max level to create the new max level, 640 was taken by doubling the max level for every new game) with limitless power and who can destroy entire sectors of space in the blink of an eye. there has to be sometype of limit to how powerful the jedi can become. Now the above statement is a little blown out of proportion to show how dumb it would be to keep making the new PC more powerful for each new game in the series. While I like the idea that they are raising the max level to whatever it is going to be (beause it adds the chance to customize the PC more), I still think that no matter what level the PC can become it should be made clear that they aren't the most powerful jedi ever.

Stargate: 2000 replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Since the prestige classes are merely exstentions of the base classes I would think that what one could get the other should be able to master. Maybe by cross classing it will open the PC upto a wide array of forms to choose from, while sticking to one set class type will allow you to focus on one or two and be able to master them. This is all working on the belief that the forms are restricted to set classes and are not open to every class. -
Since we don't know which characters will change alignments with the PC, I don't think its out the realm of possibility that the apprentice wont follow the PC. I guess it would all depend on when and (possibly) where the PC changed, because if the PC fell in the begining of the game then I would think the apprentice would follow the PC. But if the PC doesn't fall till later in the game then its entirely possible that the apprentice might reject the PC and maybe even battle the PC. As to when Kreia will die, I have to agree with silversun on this. I mean its not impossible that kriea could die and then we could go another few hours before we get either the apprentice or the prestige class (I would think that the prestige class would come after the apprentice mainly because its suppost to be fairly hard to obtain).

Stargate: 2000 replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
see I would put it this way Gaurdian: Forms I, II, V, VII Sentinal: Forms I, III, IV, VI Counsular: Forms I, IV,VI, VII Gaurdian: all the forms I listed are heavily combat oriented. Sentinal: all the forms are balanced (neither heavy combat nor defense). Consular: all forms are either force heavy or require a high level of discipline to control. -
Both very good questions, and both would certainly add a new depth to the game that seemed to be lacking in KOTOR. I have a feeling though that depending on how soon or late in the game will dictate wether or not your apprentice will follow the PC. Another thing I was wondering was, saying there is more than one possible apprentice would it be possible that the apprentice could change sides without the PCs help?
-
Though a little off topic I was wondering if how you answer the first volly of questions about revan dictates how you start in the game, i.e. if you say revan went LS then you start off a little more LS than neutral, and if you say DS then you start a little more DS than neutral. The reason why I bring it up is because maybe when you answer the questions during the character creation it will dictate who you will have for you apprentice and which you meet between Marr and handmaiden. Just a thought, Also it could sorta limit the type of answers you might give for the first few levels in the game until you ofcourse settle on one alignment over the other.

Sounds quite possible. I wonder who will kill her (saying she dies) my money would be on Sion or maybe the PC saying you go DS that early.
