So the Emperor has a lightsaber
Stargate: 2000 replied to GSpotFrenzy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
you do realize the only difference between a "tactical withdraw" and "tucking your tail between your legs and running" is if there is anyone else around to see you doi it. Even the jedi know fear they just don't normally act on it. If I had to guess I would say that Yoda was just buying time for something else to happen then once it did he could cut and run when he got the chance. More than likely Yoda would know if he could beat Sidious or not, so I would doubt he would just rush into a fight without some reason to do so, no matter who had been killed. -

Lightsaber article or for the full thread.. Here is the qoute from the article. -
what if the wookie was chundaar or freeyr? theyre still npcs from kotor they just arent party members. freeyr ls and chuundar ds <{POST_SNAPBACK}> except in my case (even in the DS playthroughs) I killed chuundar, I just couldn't stand him. I doubt that we will see jolee if you pick revan went DS since at the very least jolee and juhani would be dead. Though I think I will primarally (sp?) choose revan LS since I think it will give me the most choices for K1 cameos. Also I think that Kreia will give herself to protect the PC early in the game more than likely within the first few hours of the game, meaning we will need atleast one more jedi. Also has anyone said wether or not we can only have one apprentice? in this time period it wasn't uncommon for sith to have more than one apprentice, so it makes me wonder if say when the PC is DS if both the disciple and Marr will be apprentices.

I am guessing (since I have no facts to back it up... atleast right now anyway) that dantooine is where we will find the Lightsaber crystal that will bond with the PC. you know the one that gets stronger as the PC get stronger and will also change colour accordign to the alignment of the owner. I hope this time though we will find either a very large cave with lots of crystals or a few small caves with stronger crystals. -
PRIMA Strategy Guide for KotOR2
Stargate: 2000 replied to SmkJaguar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Since I wont be getting the game until christmas I think I will more than likely wait until the new year before I get the Strategy Guide. While I would like to know more about the prestige classes before I have to choose which one I want I think I would rather figure it out for myself atleast on the first playthrough or two. -
Who is that, again?
Stargate: 2000 replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
LA and Obsidian, they just aren't willing to tell jsut yet.... I wish they would though! -
I'd like to know where Fardragon discovered that the Handmaiden and Visas Marr come from Onderon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was wondering that myself.
-
It all depends on how you look at it. I mean if the handmaiden can be the apprentice then she would have a major role in the game but if you could choose someone else then she would have a very minor role in the game. I would think that the handmaiden is "the NPC formally known as Atris" and that someone else is know going by that name, maybe the femalke sith or maybe the queen of onderon or maybe just a lowly sith solider we more than likely wont know until either tha game comes out or more character info is released. Also where was it established that she wouldn't have a important role in the game (the handmaiden I mean)? Since we just found out about her in the last week I don't think I have seen anything that said that she will not have a vital role, though to be honest I may have just missed it.
-
unless its the fact that when the name was leaked it was at the begining of the development process and they didn't want to give away any secrets that could be used later in the game (also its possible that they weren't sure what her role was going to be until recently). The fact that he said something about her now isn't too odd since its only one month till the US Xbox release of TSL, So they probably figure that there isn't much harm that could be done by telling us something as general as "Atris" wont be a party member but will have a vital role in the game.
-
But he never said that she wasn't the one we were calling atris (only reskined). It makes me wonder if they either never called her atris but instead thats a name for someone else in the game or if they decided to change the name after it was leaked. Or that she is some relation to Atris, the growing concenus on the board is that Atris is the Queen of onderon so why couldn't it be possible that she could either be a realative of the queen or maybe the queen undercover. I have to admit that the whole queen being undercover thing would kinda suck and I hope they don't use that idea since it would take away from the character.

***UNOFFICAL KOTOR 2 : THE SITH LORDS FAQ***
Stargate: 2000 replied to Gromnir's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Since we have already been told that the PC isn't Revan! the only connection I can see if that they both left republic space in the last 8 years and both have returned/will return in this game. Oh and they are both Jedi. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Revan would probably not appear in kotor2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well since the devs and LA have been rather tight lipped about whether or not he and bastila will ruturn it leaves us on this board to theorize that either they will have him return in TSL or they will merely have what has happened to him be told through the eyes of his crew mates. But since it has been said that reven dissapeared on Korriban I would think he would be the only person who knew where he went and why (ofcourse there is always bastila going with him unless ofcourse you killed her on a DS playthrough). -
KOTOR II: Lightsabers at IGN
Stargate: 2000 replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I wonder if there is a limit on how strong it can get? and how it changes colour? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With more "personalized" lightsabers, hopefully this cuts down on the number of lightsaber loot you can amass. It would be neat if everyone's lightsaber was bonded closely to its owner, and that the lightsaber becomes almost useless (maybe a severe drop in damage) if used by someone other than the owner. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like a good idea for later in the game say once the PC has a lightsaber. I think it will be very interesting as to how you find that speacial crystal. I was thinking that it might be some sort of quest the PC will have to go on to find it. -
KOTOR II: Lightsabers at IGN
Stargate: 2000 replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The thing that really got me interested was the part about the crystal that changed with the Jedi. I wonder if there is a limit on how strong it can get? and how it changes colour? -
IIRC, someone...was it kumquat? in the original Ask the Devs thread asked what the name of the WHC was. Some dev posted it and five minutes later, the post disappeared. Draw your own conclusions <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I knew the name had been pulled right after it was released but I wasn't when it was released or how it was released, so I guess its doubtful then that the name Atris could refer to the Female Sith Lord and not the WHC. Thanks for the info. Another thing is could they have changed the name and thats why she isn't playable (in case anyone is wondering I would like to have the WHC as a party member :D ) Or that they changed who was called atris, since it was early in the development process its possible that it wouldn't have been too hard to change who was called Artis and just make up a new name for the person who we are calling Atris. Just a thought.

KOTOR II: Lightsabers at IGN
Stargate: 2000 replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
did anyone else see this Now I am beging to worry since we were told many times that the PC will have full knowledge of who they are, its just for the player to find out. SO the question is did IGN just screw up or is there something that we need to know??? -
I just got to thinking of something is it possible that the name Atris could be the name of the female sith lord? I know I wasn't around when the name slipped out on the boards but is it possible that the dev who slipped up could have been talking about the female sith lord and not the WHC?
-
I would say he is the only one who could do it without a workbench.

Questions to Dev's, Take 4
Stargate: 2000 replied to Hydrogen's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
How did they enhance the old ones? And did they enhance all of them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> for one they made it so that with a higher treat injury you could restore more health with the force heal group. Other than that I forget what was mentioned. -
Which means T3M4 will be useless once again. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> unless bao-dur is only good at breaking down items and repairing items? Also T3 will be useful if for no other reason that being able to upgrade items on the fly.
-
I wonder if he will comment on our thoughts/speculation.
-
I was just thinking maybe the quest will be something along the lines of having to re-instate the proper queen to the throne (LS) or to maintain the current rule of the DS queen (DS). Saying that the current queen is DS. Or maybe the tradional protect the queen could be LS and over throw her being the DS option. I think we will get the handmaiden the way you discribed above but I think that we will get Marr on Dxun. since its been said that the character name atris wont be a Party NPC I would have to NO. But that doesn't mean that she couldn't go by another name or be undercover.
-
That of course is assuming that Atris is the queen of onderon. But I don't see a problem with it, I mean its more than likely not the way the writers would do it, but it still makes an interesting possibility, another thing that they could do is that the handmaiden could be related to Atris (once agian saying she is the queen of onderon). Wasn't it said that the prior (possible still current) queen of onderon was a DS follower? and that Dxun and Onderon are strong in the DS? so wouldn't that mean that the queen should be evil?
-
Very cool! I wonder if that means when it comes to breaking down materials to make other things if he will be able to make better items than normal? Thanks for the Info Akari!
