KOTOR 2 X-Box or PC version?
Stargate: 2000 replied to AromisTallion's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i have a 30" TFT computer display. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just purchased an over head projector with an 80" display screen (w00t) add that to my already owned 7.1 suround sound stereo and you have one hell of a gamming system (p.s. I also have subs under my couch for added effect (w00t) ). So in short Xbox all the way.... atleast for now anyway.. -
What are the chances of a patch?
Stargate: 2000 replied to sanskrit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Huh? What kind of nonsense is that? I don't know about you, but I'm not getting the game for free. Which means they aren't making the patch in return for nothing. They are making the patch in return for the money people is paying for their game. If they can't afford to make a patch, I can't afford to buy half a game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahh yes but OE isn't getting the money we are spending on the game LA is, OE got their money way back when the game developement started or as soon as it went gold. SO unless they planned for patches in their budget they will have little to no money to make one with out the promise of money comming back in from the sale of said patch. So if LA decides not to put up the money for the patch then I would doubt that OE would be willing to cough up the money themselves since more than likely the wont be able to afford it. -
you're telling me that Taris wasn't slow??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Taris was slow but it had more to do than run from this hallway to this hallways and back again. Taris was teaming with a variety of things to be killed while on Peragus you could only kill robots (until you got to the harbinger anyway) that put up little to no fight. There was many subplots on taris the Black vulkars, Canderous, Bendak, and mission vao just to name a few of them. While Peragus had the T3 subplot and the Harbinger subplot thats it.

What are the chances of a patch?
Stargate: 2000 replied to sanskrit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I find it rather hard to believe that the publisher would actually forbid the development of a patch, but in any case, it's irrelevant. I have seen patches being released by companies without official publisher sanction, and all they had to do was label it an 'unofficial' patch. And anyway, if OE asked for permission to develop a patch on their own, without additional funding, why would LA refuse? Yes, I know LA sucks big time. That's not news. However, I can't say the same for Obsidian, yet. The question here is, are the people at Obsidian actually going to support their work or not? So far, there hasn't been a single developer post in the PC tech support forum. Are you going to tell me that they are not allowed to post there, either? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As someone else said it costs a lot to make a patch, and how many new companies do you know of that could afford to put that much money out without making anything in return? More than likely if LA hasn't given them the money for this patch then there will never be one and thats for two reasons the first being the one I stated above and the second fear of violating the contract with LA and the possible legal ramafications caused by doing so (i.e. issueing a star wars product without promission). -
Special Robes... again.
Stargate: 2000 replied to Jedi Master D Murda's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Hey when you get a chance can you take a screen shot and post it in this thread, I am kinda wondering what they look like as I would imagine are anyone who has an xbox. -
Finesse Lightsaber or Finesse Melee
Stargate: 2000 replied to B_old's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think you might also be confussed about the Finesse feat it only serves to change the chances to hit from the strength modifier to the Dex mod (saying your dex mod is higher than your strength mosd that is), meaning if your using a Dex based character then you want to have this in order to hit more times than not. Though it doesn't change the ammount of damage done in a hit because thats still set by your strength mod. -
Special Robes... again.
Stargate: 2000 replied to Jedi Master D Murda's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Are you color blind or something!? They are the same robe! It's just the lightning that makes the color look slightly different <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually they are not the same, If you look at the First set of robes the peice under the cape is a light colour compaired to the cape, where as in the second picture the peice under the cape is the same colour as the cape. Even with the lighting difference those two peices should be different colours. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look they are the same get over it The only other robe it could be is the Jolie robe which is green and it isnt green. I have looked at every robe that is in the game through modding it. The color looks slightly different because of the light. The first one is from Onderon and the robe gets extra light from saber, the other is from Dxun where it is dark.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They can't be the same. I wore the padawan robe on Dxun in that same exact spot like the screenshot but it was still brown and not olive green. I don't think they are the same. And good point Stargate, how can you not see that envida? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok Ok If it is olive green then it's Joliee's robe that one is green. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't say they were green I just said that the Robes and cape were different colours in the one pict but the same colour as the cape in the other pict. Which would mean that they are different Robes entirely. And since the Lightsaber doesn't cast a light in the game the whole excuse of the extra light comming from the saber is totally bogus. -
My thoughts exactly! Though Peragus did have some good point they just fell a little short of what I was expecting.

Special HK-47 Feat: Droid Interface
Stargate: 2000 replied to QQQ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The only way to get HK up and running before Narshadaa is to go around and buy peices off of droid stores, though I have never done it before so I am not sure if you can get him up and running without completing Nar Shadaa first (which of course means you can't install the parts since only the PC can do that). But IF you can buy all the parts before you visit Nar Shadaa then I would think that GOTO's ship would be the only place were you would be able to use the feat mentioned in the first post. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can, I have done it about 2 or 3 times. I would go to Onderon then Dantooine then obviously Onderon again and then Nar Shaddaa and I am able to buy the Chassis from Kodin. I freaked out when I did that but it's not really all that special. But like I said I will have to try it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cool I will have to try that myself on my current game, I wonder if it might open different convo options (i.e. Veiled threats and what not ). -

Special HK-47 Feat: Droid Interface
Stargate: 2000 replied to QQQ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The only place I can think that this might have a chance to be used is on GOTO's ship where you have to talk to the droids to get the codes/programs to unlock and shut down the ships systems. But if you have either T3 or Boa-dur in your party whats the point of using HK for this? -
Finesse Lightsaber or Finesse Melee
Stargate: 2000 replied to B_old's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If they indeed did the same thing (and wouldn't add up), what exactly would be the point of seperate Finesse Lightsaber ect. ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because Lightsabers are suppost to be harder to use than a melee weapon thus requiring another feat to master it. So yes they do the same thing but they are for different weapons. Make sense? -
Sacrificing Visas Marr
Stargate: 2000 replied to DarthVandar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
So anyway has anyone actually scraficed Visas? -
1. Your right that for the most part console gammers are screwed if the game has bugs, the thing is that they aren't acknowledging the bugs to begin with. Come on how hard is it for them to pop onto the boards every once and a while and address some problems and maybe provide a work around or two for said problems? For the most part Xboxers have been left to fend for themselves when it comes to the problems that many have faced. 2. From the way they have handled the debocale that is the Xbox version I am guessing that they aren't going to stand behind it what so ever. Now it might be different with the PC version since it is expected to be buggy as all get out. But when it comes to patches and such it would have been simple (I would guess) to leave in the DLC support part of the code so should they need an update on the big black box they could provide a disk (at a cost for the consumer of course) which would include the same patch info as the PC version. Because to install something on the HD from a disk would work the same as if it was downloaded... would it not?. But thats not the thing I was trying to get at in my post what I was meaning was that since they are not acknowledging the bugs to begin with and aren't helping the people with problems how is it that anyone can come expect support from them in any form what so ever (even PCers)?

To Obsidian and LucasArts
Stargate: 2000 replied to Thelemecus Rhade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Xindi thing really ticked me off, I found it really kinda boring, now if they had done maybe half of the season in the exspanse then the rest more or less where they are now then Yes I think I would have enjoyed it more. My favorite Star Trek Movies would have to be First Contact and Generations. I like generations because to this day I still wonder if everything that happened after that movie (i.e. Insurection, First Contact, and Nemisis) actually happened (in the Star Trek universe anyway) or if it all took place in the Nexiss(sp?). I have a feeling that the next star trek series when/if it happens is going to be set some where around the 29th or 30th century, they just seem to be drawing from that time period a lot. -
To Obsidian and LucasArts
Stargate: 2000 replied to Thelemecus Rhade's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
TNG, DS9 and Voyager (especially) really sucked. TOS, and ST II - ST X are all worth watching. I think that the odd number rule of ST movies is complete BS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is it you could like Nemisis? It was by far the worst Star Trek Movie made to date. Heck even the cast said it was horrible. Then again I was kinda partial to Data so to have him killed off really kinda sucked. Personally I like all of them accept for Deep Space 9. I mean...they just sat on a space station, it wasn't really space exploration =/ But the other one's are great, and I'm a big Enterprise fan <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey being on a space station isn't bad, when handled right that is. I personally didn't like DS9 either but I did like Babylon 5, I think for the most part it was better than the majority of the star trek episode produced in the last 20 years. Enterprise was/is good and it sucks that it has been caneled but I guess it was/is time to give the franchise a rest for a few years. Though I would still have liked it to have been picked up for one more year just too see how things would playout, sicne they are doing much better this season with the episode and such. -

Where did the game go bad
Stargate: 2000 replied to PhantomJedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nope you have to go through it on your own. Mira follows you if your lightside but the exile isn't aware she is following him. And remote also goes through his own little mission while on the planet but all three are seporate. -
You know from anyone else this would have been an insult but since its comming from someone with the IQ of a grapefruit its not so bad. The Engine while does work, it is by no means "fine". The fact that the engine is far out of date. With games like Half life 2 and Halo 2 out on the market it really makes KOTOR and TSL look sad. Now I am not sugesting that they should use either of those engines but there are a couple of RPGs in developement that they could choose from for the new enigne, (i.e. save time on developement, since i know thats why your whining like a little baby over the engine being "F---ING FINE").The graphics aren't the only thing that makes KOTOR and TSL look sad compaired to current games on the market another thing is the fact that most games now have a physics engine built in which would change the dynamics of the game play a bit since if there were physics in the game you couldn't go around and spam force lightning at everything since you would more than likely blow up your party in the process. But these are just two things that changing the engine would improve. Now if you have a GOOD reason other than because it would take too much time to build using another engine, then I am more than willing to listen to your arguement.
-
I say all of the above! Though bugs and a new engine are at the top of my list of things that need serious imporvement.
-
Buy the PC version because there is always a chance that they will make patches to fix the problems for the PC where as there is no hope of a patch for the Xbox. Also if your wanting I would recomend purchasing a new video card they are fairly cheep for a 128 MB which is more than capable of handleing the graphics of the KOTOR series.

Action Replay Saves
Stargate: 2000 replied to Darth Tratious's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its simple just boot up the Xbox without a disk in the drive then when you get to the Xbox dashboard go to the memory manager and then just select the controller that has the mem card in it. Find your file, select it, then download it to your Xbox HD. -
An area dropped before the game was released, same with the Telos sublevel.
