  1. because Jag, s/he asked for a games that didn't involve jedi not good games "
  2. The first thing is that really you couldn't do that with a starwars title since in starwars its all driven by the characters and the continuing of a characters story (i.e. Anakins story for the movies). The secodn thing is I don't think having a KOTOR series game that doesn't revole around the jedi wouldn't be such a good idea, I mean if your looking for a Starwars game that has little to nothing to do with the jedi then I would sugest Repubic comando or galaxies.
  3. Well yes and no, right now there are just too many variables to say wether or not this year would be more likely than next year. I think the most interesting one is if they are building a engine from scratch they would have had to start either before/at the same time as obsidian started on TSL or else they wouldn't have anything to show for E3 other than just some very minor screens that would be more than likely usning the old engine to show some of the enviroments. The more likely option for them saying they are wanting to put out yet another game in a short time period is to use another games engine in order to cut down on the development time required. But I am still very troubled by the fact that if they are going to unvail another chapter in this series at this years E3 then what kind of qaulity of game can we really expect? Though I think that if M$ doesn't unvail Xbox 2 at E3 we wont hear anything about the new KOTOR till 2006 simply because it has been hinted at, that KOTOR might be a launch title for Xbox 2 (though I can't remember where I read that).
  4. I would guess that its not going to be this years E3 (maybe next year)... unless that started working on KOTOR 3 around the sametime or shortly after Obsidian started working on KOTOR 2 (i.e. another developer and not obsidian doing KOTOR 3).
  5. God give me patience ... Reading this messages makes me covert to any deity that can save me from reading such ... silliness. Now WERE DID I STATED I WANTED TO START AS LV10? Lets ignore the fact BG2 started around lv10, lets also ignore that HotU was a sequel to SoU even in terms of level since that was not what I was saying. What I said was since KotOR ended at lv 20 and TSL ended at lv 30 the part NPCs are too powerful to be used in any sequel, downgrade of level is a stupid anoying thing that always break suspension of belief. KotOR was not designed for a sequel, KotOR II story was designed for a sequel but with the insane power levels of the end its impossible for a sequel to use the same party members without downgrading the game to power levels that COMPLETLY BREAK THE COMBAT SYSTEM, as pointed out the "epic levels" already screwed up TSL balance system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You do realise whatever the level it says on the screen really has jack to do with what level you might be in truth. What I mean is they could have it set up to show on the screen as the PC being level 25 when you start the game (refering to starting KOTOR 3 as the exile) but in reality your really only level 1 as far the the game is concerned. That way it fixes the balace issues your mentioned above but also allow them to bring back said "over powered" characters from past games. .
  6. you do realise that even that was never made offical right??? it was also reported by fan sites and some new sites but never confirmed by LA as ever even happening.
  7. Yeah, you have to use thorium charges on the door. You can get these either from inside the library in the Sith Academy on Korriban, or buy them from Akkere in exhange for him rendering his services to the Koonda Milita on Dantooine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Jag
  8. Has anyone been able to get into the first weapons cache? not the one that mandalore sends you too open but the one with the dead mandalorian infront of it.
  9. Hey compaired to the almighty buck LA couldn't careless about the quality of game that is put out. I agree that its unlikely that (saying this is true) we will see a new KOTOR in a year or so but really even two years might be too soon for them to work out all the other bugs.... unless they are going for a already established engine (because "new engine" doesn't really mean that they are going to develope it it just means that it could be new to the series). But my main point is that I hope they (LA) don't presure whoever is developing the new game to have it out before it is really ready to hit the shelves. First off cudos on the using the big word Secondly I have to agree, I would love to be able to have Jolee in my party again or Handmaiden.
  10. I just hope that should this turn out to be true that they decide to NOT rush the game this time and give it the time and effort that this series needs to really deliver the game we will all (outside of Hades - because he hates everything that has to do with jedi) love.
  11. Just curious how you know this? I mean this only as a question, since I haven't fought Visas after getting my first saber. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you have a saber before fighting Visas, you get the red saber she was using in your inventory, even though she still says you "broke it". Her name isn't on it, but it's a red saber. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok thanks for the info, I figured you would get a saber but, I also figured we would be able to do a few other things in the game that didn't happen so I figured I would ask to find out.
  12. not if you go and do the , they just keep respawning so you can go from level 16 to level 50 quickly.
  13. :"> hey I did say I knew nothing of D20 rule set
  14. Hell you want to talk about influence problems, here is one for yah to rap your mind around, on my last play through I was playing as a male and before the handmaiden even left atris's place (or whatever) I had her answer that question, but when she joined my party I asked her again (I mean right after) and I got an influence failer for the same damb question. Now how the hell is that possible anyone care to answer this. Also I was pure LS so it wouldn't have been because of me being DS incase that matters. The play through before I had to wait until just before I went to dantooine the second time before the desciple would answer what his problem was with the jedi and he had been a jedi since I met him, I went to Dantooine for my second world after Telos (narshadaa being first).
  15. No. The FR/D&D settings are fundamentally different from SW. The barrier between deity and mortality is faint at best in D&D, and there are a lot of creatures there that are between both worlds. There is nothing like that in SW, everyone is mortal and can be killed with a well aimed, lucky blaster shot. The SW D20 ruleset is designed to reflect that, hence there is no reason for 'epic' levels. The emperor and Yoda are both at the pinnacle of the power scale of the SW setting, and both are near physical collapse. Beginning to see a pattern there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am the first one to admit that I know nothing of the rules for either D&D or SW D20, but that wasn't what I was meaning, What I meant was since there is no rules for epic levels and that seems to but what all the fuss is about then why not just make some and call it quits, I am sure the rule sets for both have changed sicne they were first created even its just stat wise. So why couldn't they just add a new division to the rule set to include epic levels? I know yoda and the emperor are supost to be the end all of the power base but with the place that SW video games rank in the offical universe I don't see why there is such a problem with them changing the way one game handles the given rule set... honest I don't.
  16. That just means they have yet to be created, because I am sure when Starwars d20 came out there was people who hated the way things were layed out in it compaired to the dnd rule set. SO I think that maybe Obsidian should make either an addition to the starwars rule set to include epic level (as you put it) so that it makes more sense in the world of starwars D20 (mind you I would doubt that they would put that much work into doing something like that).
  17. Just curious how you know this? I mean this only as a question, since I haven't fought Visas after getting my first saber.
  18. That's probably because you have to be level 50 or something to access it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your kidding right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wish I was...but it doesn't look too promising http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=28450&hl= <{POST_SNAPBACK}> well if so that sucks monkey ass! <_<
  19. That's probably because you have to be level 50 or something to access it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> your kidding right?
  20. According to the strat guide Malak's Armor has Armor proficiency: Light Upgradeable: Yes Def: 7 Breakdown: 1250 Max Dex: +4 Speacial: Restricted to DS, Str+1 Regeneration+2 Even though we have been told it is in the game I find it odd that its not listed on Gamebanshee.com's armor list.
  21. One thing that was brought up in the past and should maybe be brought to light yet again. Since they used the same engine and the codeing was already in place for Xbox live why didn't they just leave it in so that if they happened to get the greenlight later on to update somethings Via additional content or whatever then they could? Instead they decided or were told to take that code out leaving anyone who purchased the US Xbox version at the short end of the stick. Personaly I would have loved to finaly be able to play the HK factory but I guess we will have to wait until the PC version is released and someone cracks the code so everyone can access it.
  22. If you compair it to a stock lightsaber it is one point higher than the double blade which is of course more powerful than a single blade, But as you have said if you mod you lightsaber (and who doesn't ) it is as you said extremly weak.

  24. Does are not the pieces for making the lightsaber They for upgrading your lightsaber after you have built it. You can't make the parts for creating a lightsaber.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ok so I am a little slow , I just confussed there for a bit because I knew you could make a lens, but it wasn't until my playthrough after I had posted that I realized that I wasn't reciveing a lens but instead a place to put lens's. Kind of a well duh moment there .
  25. while the ending sucked ass compaired to what we were told was going to happen at the end, I don't think it was a horible ending merely a ending that needed another month to properly finish (i.e. the cut scenes that either got cut or forgot about). Also if you take it from the whole "clifhanger" perspective then it was a fairly decent ending (just needed those cut scenes to be perfect).
