So in other words... it was very balanced and had something for almost everyone. Much like Microsoft's show. The one that bored me was Bethesda's which was everything we more or less expected from them. Ubisoft is next, regardless of the hate they get, they never have a bad E3 so I'm excited
-
Yes lol I was looking right at the word "Square" when I write that too lmao I'm too excited for Sony apparently
-
Very corny, 80's-ish presentation with bloody deaths and cyberpunk type atmosphere. I felt like I was in the theater watching Terminator 2 or Hackers once again. The Sony presentation is in an hour... Ghosts of Tushymi is going to blow everything out of the water. Just wait and see. E3's always make me a proud PS4 owner.

Agreed. Just like last year's. E3 these last few years have really surprised everyone. E3 went from it's trashy beginnings to its glorious now - like a transformation from a butterfly's metamorphisis. Bethesda is very smart, the Apple of game developers - and they know it! Fallout 76 is gonna dwarf the sales of any Bethesda game. I think anyone can see that now. I'm waiting on Sony's conference, I'm pretty confident in my saying that it's gonna be the best one... even by if a small margin. Sony's conference will be the one that everyone is talking about. Ubisoft's conference have always been top notch as well (these last few years) so it's hard to think that this year they'd fail. E3 saves the best for last as always.

They will be using new engines on the new consoles, I believe. Totally different rending tech for Starfield and TES6. I don't believe any of their current projects will tell them anything about the next gen, they will only learn that through developing on the kits directly which is why I believe they will use completely new engines. As said, using totally different rendering techniques in Fallout 76 than in fallout 4 to produce 16x the map while requiring less resources was a good indication, the new gen of upcoming hardware won't require these cutbacks at any rate. Todd Howard said they have 3 studios now, one in montreal, texas and somewhere else. And those studios probably (most likely) have different teams which is what is enabling them to work on different projects at once. Cyberpunk, mark my words, it will be the Omikron of this generation. Omikron is still such an incredible game (rip David Bowie) and seems to have the characteristics to which Cyberpunk borrows from - if the trailer isn't misleading, that is. From everything I see so far from everything Bethesda and then CD Project Red's CyberPunk, Rage 2 probably interests me the most. The Awesome Advebtures of Captain Spirit also looks great. Meh.

No, it was running on next-gen hardware. Filmed, yes and linear but definitely not pre-remdered. In 5 years, you will see.
-
ELDER SCROLLS 6... it will be from Faraway and it will be single player.
-
I'm blown away at the Starfield trailer and it's in game graphics... 8k support incomimg!
-
Well... Bethesda never disappoints
-
It's an mmo, Todd Howard called it softcore survival mmo...

There's just not enough there that seperates it from the likes of say Blade Runner or Deus Ex (at least nothing right now). Everything has been done before, in fact the trailer instantly made me think of one of Quantic Dream's earlier games - Omikron: The Nomad Soul (rip David Bowie), which was released back in 1999. I'm thinking that game paved the way for Cyberpunk 2077 (if I'm going by the context of the trailer alone). I, too, would like to see the gameplay. Hopefully soon!
-
While that Cyberpunk 2077 trailer is colorful and pretty, it's pretty generic and not really informative. All it told us is where exactly the game takes place so it makes sense that most people are disappointed with what CD Project Red "showed" today. The car will probably be your "horse" of comparing the game with The Witcher series. That would be a good guess.

Is Todd Howard going to lip-sync again?

What is Ghibli, exactly? I've never seen a Ghibli movie but I know Ni No Kuni was a Ghibli game. -
What kind of games do you play the most?
SonicMage117 replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
I enjoy and own the good ones... There are only 2 types of games I don't play/own: Visual Novels and Dating Sims. My favorites are hardcore rpg like Sunless Sea (something not as casual as IE games or Divinity Original Sin series). 2D platformers are one of the best genres out there and are responsible for ushering so many games in the industry. Heck, even rpg's pay respects to classic 2D platforming... thanks Mom! Games like Sonic and Mario which spawned and evolved into Metroidvanias and so on. The list of cycle is literally eternal. Casualist RPG: I have so many of these from Baldurs Gate to Divine Divinity. These come in all shapes and sizes from Crpg to Arpg. They fall into this catagory. Horror: Soma, The Evil Within 1&2, Resident Evil Remasters, etc. They're all good for at least one playthrough. Other favorites are hack-n-slash like Nier: Automata, Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta... when people tell me "Those are mindless mashers" I say "Try any hack and slash on thr hardest difficulty, they'll be some of the hardest games you'll ever play". Third person action games: Darksiders series, Tomb Raider classics, anything with brain-warping puzzles that we can't get from an rpg can be found in these. That's why I love them. Also, these type of games specifically have the most beloved characters of all time - and for good reason! Jrpg is a genre which I have alotta experience in but have only real interest in only a select couple of franchises. Anime fighters, I usually play these when they come out and then after they lose their community (a few months after release) I uninstall them and move on to something else. Non-Anime (no air-dash) fighters: Injustice series, Killer Instinct and Soul Calibur series. Other than that I don't play much of these. Racing: Everything from Star Wars: Episode 1 Pod Racer, Wipeout, Motortorm, Need Fot Speed originals, Ridge Racer. It's not arguable that th best racing games are on console... forget Driveclub, Forza, Project Cars and Gran Turismo. Hello San Francisco Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder!! Sandbox: Want a good sandbox game with actual freedom? try The Escapists 2. The game which you try to break out of prison is ironically the game that offers the most freedom in a game ever. If we can look past the pixel graphics, we find oke of the most rewarding and deep crafting systems in a game as well. MMO's are the most hit and miss genre out there... I play ESO and that's about it. Not much to say here. My last two comparisons: Lego and RTS/4x Lego games are always fun and unique. To a n00b, at first glance, they'll say "Every Lego game looks the same" but when we play them, we see that every Lego game sets itself apart. For example, Lego Hobbit has a deep crafting system, Lego Incredibles has a day/night cycle which affects the patterns of crime wave, Lego Worlds is a less obteusive Minecraft. The average Lego game takes an adult to solve some of the puzzles and takes about 120 to 200 hours to 100% or platinum. So much for hand holding. Bottom of the barrel for me is 4x and RTS. The genre excites me with every new game that gets revealed and then released, then gets super boring after playing the game for awhile. The games aren't bad, maybe I just lack the attention span. Do I hate RTS/4x? Not at all. My favorite rts back in the day was abnd still is Age Of Empires 2. On the topic of 4x, they are the grander scale strategy games... too much to say as each 4x are games so I'll move on. And finally, THE genre I never returned to: city/park builders. It's been years since I've played any type of Park or City builders. I used to love Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and I know that it's not just my nostalgia when I say that no city builder or park builder will ever feature such polished management systems, flexibility or depth. I also don't really care for Sports games. -
This looks like the first VR title that may actually be worth playing. I trust Insomniac to do much better than Bethesda did.

I think you mean The Force Awakens. Rogue One is more like Star Trek than Star Wars for "Various" reasons. I'm looking past the edgey current way of modernized writing (I'm talking about the older Star Trek episodes). Qeustioning of moral grounds, making irrelevant characters the center piece, racial formation vs segragation, mixed relationships - that's just the start. The list literally goes on, these are impending topics that Lucas never dared to touch, but Roddenbury did. So kudos to Disney for actually doing something different with Rogue One that Lucas never had the guts to do. They brang Star Wars to be a bit more relevant and relatable then it was then. Heck, perhaps that may be why alot of long time fans are upset with Disney too (excluding the ever appearing nonsense of "Oh it's Disney so you know they'll mess things up", of course). Solo, on the other hand, is something that started as a bit of a love letter to fans but unfortunately ended up (in eyes of the majority) to be a middle finger to fans. Personally, I'm just happy they're not staying in Lucas's comfort zone. The franchise is evolving and people don't like change, it doesn't have to do with carbon copying stories or bad quality. I fear, it's almost like "fans" want Disney to fail with Star Wars so they'll sell it off... like anyone would do a better job at this point though. -

Rogue One was great because they said "Hey, We're going to do EXACTLY the opposite of what George Lucas has ever done and make it work." Thus proving Disney can push Star Wars films easily as well-written and designed as the old trilogy. And Rogue One did indeed have better writing, twists and stuff that fans didn't necessarily like because they never seen that approach, this may or may not have been a hard pill for some to swallow. I figured that fans of the classics would rejoice/celebrate in this but... Anyhoot, Solo, on the other hand was an idea of fan service that turned out to be the joke of the franchise. At the same time, many fans are happy to see that "New" Star Wars can be bad, doesn't matter to me if it's Disney's fault, it's still Star Wars and there's no seperation of old and new in the end, mainly because people don't stereotypically think "original trilogy" when you say Star Wars. That time has passed long ago. Nevermind that Kylo Ren is being dubbed "The clumsy sith" as you may recall, Darth Vader also had a nickname or two. Which movies do you guys think actually have better characters and character development? The whole "I am your father" is one of the most cliche tales of time yet falsely favored for being some kind of twist. Time to dig out the old Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga teeheehee -

So.... as usual, I am right. I predicted that Solo would flop and be the first Star Wars to flop and by all accounts, on all levels was a failure and a flop. Disney took a loss. Everyone told me I was wrong "A Star Wars movie will never flop or lose coin...." Meh, as I said before people are getting tired of Star Wars period. Even Disney/Pixar movies and Marvel movies will flop. https://youtu.be/2sSVE-mWSAE And the lame excuse of "They don't make em like they use to" and/or "This is why the old movies will always be better" is ignorance speaking. The new Star Wars movies clearly have more depth, better characterization/character betrayal, better acting and special effects than the older movies (this is very obvious) so quality of film and writing has nothing to do with why Star Wars is flopping. Legacy is clouding judgenents here it seems but that just proves me rightso all the more. Well... at least Starscream actually looks like Starscream in this one. To be honest, I could care less about the quality of story-telling (that's never been the high point of Transformers or their movies). .... I just want them to get character designs right this time. I don't want to look atthe big screen and say "Why does Starscream look like that?" The easy out would be "Simple. Because of design choice" but here's the thing, the old character designs for Decepticons are actually better and scarier than the movie ones. Then again, those unfamiliar with the classic designs probably wouldn't notice anyway. https://youtu.be/DViNqamyg_k For the fans, it does matter and it should dictate the initial vision of the film. Especially since fans of the films have dropped off and the remaining fans are of the origins cartoons. So I say "Get the designs right, next movie you can focus on anything else" - that's about the wisest bit of advice we can give them. -

Hitman 2 has been revealed, it's more less of the same and nothing really amazing. However, that Miami race track scene did look nice... blow the car up and escpape on a speedboat/jetski. Hmmm... And the mp mode looked tacky as hell. Seriously, why lol -
