The BEST 3 RPGs you have ever played
SonicMage117 replied to IamNOOB's topic in Computer and Console
Hell, if I knew we could cheat by giving more than 3 rpg's and writing a full essay to validate our choices, I would have... -
Some of the combat moves in Ghost Of Tsushima were stolen from Mitsurugi (Soul Calibur series) I was able to tell right of the bat The music in the grasslands the other hand was very close to the OST used in The Last Samurai: Very lovely song if I say so myself - and believe me, I do!

Well... we can only assume that if the character has a name, then it's not likely that we'll be able to create a character. Maybe we'll be able to pick a gender but here's to hoping it's a cool female protagonist as I would be okay with it. As for FFVII, we don't really know the price of each episode yet so we can't really say it will be "milking" comsumers for their hard earned money. It could be $19.99 per episode or $29.99 these are the likely prices. Or who knows, they may chnge their minds, since they're taking so long they could just release the game as one whole thing after all. I'm still watching the Ghost Of Tsunami trailer and it comtinues to impress me. And no, AC Odyssey is not a third person action game, it's an actual rpg with mini-quests, stat building and dialogue stringing/choice. You can loot and dress your character from helmet to sandals. It's basically more rpg's than most rpg's lol The thing that's tricking people into think it's some in of a roman GTAV is the perspective. It's sad when people cannot base a game off the writing and dpt features rather than camera placement but that's the community for ya lol Welp... E3 again, reminds me how blessed I am to own my console. PS4, Sony, Dualshock 4, welcome to the top of my list again. PC with 1080ti... ummm... it's time you and I had a talk. Prepare for Splinter Cell and Watch Dogs 3 announcements near the end of the year. The games that nobody asked for but eveeyone will buy anyways - cuz they're so damn good.

A new grand strategy 4x space game is turning heads... Over 3,000 planets for you to land on in real time, gather resources to upgrade your ship and buy more ships and hire crew to form a massive fleet... and more!

Starship Troopers meets Prey. First Person RPG with quest branching.

Sometimes old dogs can be taught new tricks... but should they? ^Theme Hospital's triumphant return, a spiritual sucessor emerges from an indie artist!

Thank you for being you, this was a good laugh

Nintendo wasn't bad. Alot of time, more time than was needed (in my opinion), was spent on Smash Bros Ultimate but I loved that there are 2 different versions of certian characters like Bayonetta or Link. Yeah, Wind Waker Link is in!!! And Bass, Treble, Proto-Man, Megaman X from Megaman.... Very cool. All said and done... This was a very impressive and strong E3, strongest we've ever had in any year really. And that's saying alot because there was no hardware reveals or anything like that. I know next year and the one after that will only get better. 2019 is going to be a phenomenal year for gamers, we are in the golden age of gaming. Graphics and storytelling is evolving to the point where relatability is at the forefront, developers who were never honest in the 90's are humbling themselves now, and technology is growing to help make visions a reality instead of limiting them. This is the greatest time to be a gamer. The direct sincerity from both AAA and indie devs is astounding and when you see AAA devs get emotional, we know it's not an act and it's not that they're getting paid to cry, we know that this is because they are more passionate about games now and it's harder now than it ever was. And just like that E3 is over, now I know some people will be like "Good riddance" or whatever but they're still going to watch the E3 trailers and gameplay demos so... Technically E3 2018 will live on... Always - Thank you Youtube <3 So much beauty in this E3, not just the graphics but the music and the storytelling. With much experience in games, I say again that I can tell these games are going to be exceptional. As companies continue to bring new blood in and free themselves from tethers that were once binding them since 80's and 90's development cycles, we will only continue to move forward. Thank you E3. Sincerely, thank you for this. Being on my phone in a discord chat with hundreds of people (developers, reviewers, gamers, friends and family) and writing in all caps in my excitement, it was a grand joy to be part of this... and it made me realize some other things too. "Gone are the cheap marketing tactics, here now is the bluntness and personality from the developers. Relatability, just as in their games and workmanship beyind the grave. The industry has never been more honest and real" -a wise man on E3 2018

We're pretty much on the same page, though I was also really impressed with some ubi games too. You see, I don't even care if AC Odyssey isn't historically correct (no game is anyway, if we're being 100) but the new AC games seem to be a better balance of historical fact and... entertainment and that's not a bad thing. That minotaur at the end took me from 300 Rise of An Empire to Clash Of The Titans. I was super excited for TES6 but after realizing that it definitely is more years away that I care to count, I don't feel it deserves my anticipation just yet. I have no interest in Fallout 76, I personally was let down by it but then again I kinda knew what to expect a little. I hope that anyone who is looking forward to it has fun playing it. Most games (except for Bethesda's) were very pleasing to my eyes. Graphics are not everything BUT I couldn't help but be amazed by the games that were shown off and unsurprisingly, Sony's games had the best graphics. I literally got chills from a few of the in-game trailers. Especially the Ghost Of Tsushima when he looked atop the overpass. I was like really? He looked both ways then proceeded to cross, getting ok his horse to run through the fields. It's truly a marvel when we can count every grain of sand or blade of grass and PS4's exclusives are the first to allow us to do so.... And to think, I thought The Witcher 3 looked great maxed on my pc!!!

^Because the link in my comment above didn't have a preview which I think is important in this thread...

I can't even get into the trailers at this point, much less the presentations. Most everything starts looking the same after so many years of watching these things...and that's probably why E3 feels like a giant middle finger of a reminder that the current AAA video game industry is just not for me for various reasons. I guess I've got the new Dark Souls game to sort of look forward to, but that's really just more of the same. That would have been so true if this didn't happen...https://youtu.be/ku5DjH8vAtc Devolver Digital's presentation basically throws jabs at every AAA dev and the 80's & 90's culture. Spitting cold truth and people really hate the truth apparently, just look at the comments lol Moreover, the big problem with people who don't watch E3, they just don't know exactly what's said in the presentations so they assume something that isn't true. This presentation in particular is the exact opposite of any other. Also, if we look at the first 10 E3's ever held and the last 10, the last 10 are by far the better conferences. So much has changed, the social networking aspect is a huge part. This year in particular had alot of streamers, discords, and so on. Last year wasn't as nearly as active in that respect and before that nobody really was doing anything so there's that to consider.

Sekiro does look great. Isn't that a 2019 game? I'm trying to focus more on 2018 games personally because so many games were shown that I like lol
-
You're right, that was. I totally forgot about it but it looks great too. It looks like Quantum Break I'm glad it's not an action game. What I want is more story for mature minds and less action, not that we can't have both but it really helps the story if there is less action of course. Then we have Just Cause 4 which is all action on top of a story but that's gonna be like the fast n furious of video games lol
-
I agree it was but they had the best games imho, and what's more is that none(?) of them were world premieres or anything like that but games we already have been trased for years. Sony is like the black sheep of the conference, Bethesda is probably the wild card, Ubisost is the dark horse, Microsoft is the ace of spades.
-
Sony already won it for me <3 The games are more about emotional storytekling and maturity in writing, aimed for mature audience. These games here put the most player involved rpg stories to shame. The graohics are a nice bonus too though

Maneater is a unique open world action rpg with deep stat building and fierce predators in underwater dungeons. Do you have what it takes to defeat the great shark of the reefs? Find out when you play ManEater. This game looks great^ Yeah. Edit: Yes, it's essentially a Hungry Shark game but with deep rpg elements. It has a steam page for more info. Actually, I asked for Hungry Shark on Steam years ago but I'll gladly take this instead

PC show is meh... Fortnite, Don't Starve, etc. Nothing too interesting as it's classic games or stuff we've already seen.
-
AC Oddyseey kinda reminded me of Rise Of The Argonauts which is a good thing. That game was so underrated but so damn good!
-
I don't know. If they haven't announced it yet for pc, it will be announced later for Steam and Uplay. I don't think it will be on Origin, GoG or Windows Store.
-
Ubi has now surpassed Microsoft and taken E3. Now it's up to Sony to take the crown. In my best Sean Connery voice I say: "I'm genuinely impressed."
-
They added an evil Jade so now there's no reason for any fan to not be excited, then again, there's just no pleasing people sometimes........ .
-
I wasn't saying that their intentions were not... I was saying people are nt going to play the game how Bethesda wants or expects and that's been proven already.
-
Yeah... about that, if Betbesda was going to be honest with you, they'd tell you they know that people are going to treat the game as a battle royale setting. The map is overly massive but that's not going to stop people from nuking where you're at. People are smart and will find ways to find players to troll. It's not even a question, it's just common sense. A couple dozen players on a map, most won't want to work with anyone. You're not likely going to bump into someone who doesn't want to eliminate you to get you out of the way or loot you or whatever. They don't need a reason. So yeah, it's just gonna be horrible and they already said you can't run your own server or pick what server your on so... that settled that. Unless you have friends to play with, you're going to be at a massive disadvantage. It's just not very smart to play this game alone, Todd Howard said it but in a much nicer way lol

Ubisoft spat in the haters faces, Ubisoft is killing it. Everything they've shown so far is interesting and relevant. Kudos to them, they're actually listening.
