RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - BATTLE ROYALE

I gave up on GTA5 long ago.... They're slowly turning it into a Simulation MMO. It's getting closer to Second Life every day that passes. -

Except for the fact that they cut out some of the context which completely alters what I said.... The part that they left out is the most important part too, irony but this is the forums after all, I would expect no less. Is that better? You didn't have to lol But thank you <3 -

I'm going to guess you're physically disabled to some extent? Why else would you do this to yourself? -
Abzu is good but really short. Momodora was... weird, for me. I didn't care for it all. I agree that trading cards are fun and beneficial to accumulate

Just so long as you know that this was all in the comics and not some kind of SJW agenda that they're trying to force via streaming a new show for current politics and what not. The characters have literally always been this since they first appeared in the early 80's. I recall they were never exactly popular though so, I'm very surprised that they're just now making a fuss of them. Then again, since X-Men was ruined, they gotta fill the void anyway they can. This is BS and you know it. In the comics Tyrone didn't lose a brother and he wasn't rich kid and Tandy wasn't a street kid. The show is basically a complete rewrite of C&D origin story.Yeah, there is the reverses and he lost his best friend instead of his brother, he also tried to steal from Tandy. So doesn't that mean the show goes against racial stereotyping now?

I can't say that I had that issue while playing Prey. I remember collecting items in the living room, kitchen, then going out the apartment and meeting the local custodian, then an engineer. That's when I knew something was up!

Well, it's not a bad film and I do own it bit who exactly do you think the live action films are for? As far as I know, the franchise was always made for kids who play with toys, that's not really any different for the new films and there was never really a specific fanbase that Transformers was made to cater. It has always been pretty unfocused and always changing. The animated series wasn't even sure about itself though, since everything else was taking it's thunder at the time. The one thing that puts the animated movie negatively comparably to the modern movies is the poor animation which is brought about by the horrid frame-rate. And being a long time fan of the series, it's quite annoying when people try to excuse it by saying "Well technology was limited then" and then complain about low framerates in games. There was no excuse but alas, fandom I guess. But at least the new Bumblebee movie gets the original character designs right, where even the animated series seemed to screw up not after long. The best thing that ever happened to Transformers, truly, was Beast Wars, that was the highest point for the franchise and I can only hope Beast Wars will come back (I know it will in some form or another). But also... Quite strange that the Cybertron games were so great. -

The more we see of the new Bumblebee movie, the more we agree that this will be the first meaningful Transformers movie we get. Hell, so far all of them had an amazing story but ruined by bad acting and wrong character designations. That seems remedied now. P.S Futureworld was decent, much better than the critics are selling it for but then again, they're not post-apocalyptic fans like me so it's sorta the same as expecting non-comic fans to love Marvel stuff or scaredy-cats to love horror. -

SonicMage117 replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
Xbox 360 and Xbox One are the most compatible cobtrollers on pc and this is because most games that are controller compatible are built around the xinput model. Drivers for Xbox 360 are also the main of any Windows system (Microsoft for Microsoft). I've been using one for 3 years and have never had a problem. Yes, controllers have their advantages. For ex, if your playing Super Meat Boy or Hollow Knight, you're just not going to get the natural precision with a mouse or keyboard, in fact you'll likely get a bit of cumbersome lag that a controller won't give you so there's that. The controller is more responsive for high demandong platformers, it's not just about comfort and some people don't realize that. You'll notice a HUGE difference for Ori and The Blind Forest. For Divinity Original Sin, if you're playing the enhance edition, it was built with controllers in mind so that's going ti feel alot more natural with a controller as well. -

Jar Jar's Star Trek is simply put terrible Star Trek - and if there's one thing these movies are not, it's close to the originals - unless you base all of Star Trek on Wrath of Khan, which is still a much better movie than Star Trek or Into Darkness will ever be. I was comparing it to the 66T series, I should have clarified but you're right, Kahn was the best of them and Journey Hime was the worst. Save the humpback whales! Now, there's no way the newer Star Trek films could be worse than that -
I always thought MW was in his late 20's!!!

Agreed. George Lucas was pretty much always terrible. JJ is where it's at. It seems the newer Star Trek's are closer to the originals. Overall though, I'm quite happy with the newer Star Wars films. I want them to experiment and if they fail, they fail but I appreciate that fans disagree with my view point as well. I'm curious to see what happens next within the Star Trek universe. Rey ftw!!!! -
This is a thread for a turn-based strategy rpg game called Intro The Breach. It features mechs and was developed by the makers of FTL. I was never a fan if FTL, was easy to see the gimmicks and messy sude of things from the start, however, ITB seems to correct all those issues and bring about that detail without compromise to a more mainstreamed audience. This means... more difficulty and depth! I present to you... INTO THE BREACH! This is indeed, an hour minute developer interview. To introduce you the game, as well and the basics. For those who have already played it, play it again. Alot has changed... But WAR..... WAR NEVER CHANGES. Enjoy!

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - BATTLE ROYALE

I think it's a matter of publishers/developers asking Valve to simplify things by driving consumers to be on the same page. Rather than make it an either/or situation, Valve just said "We'll make it a broad thing" because it should make it easier for us, the developers, and the consumers. And to be honest, it's logical considering that it's up to a developer/publisher to make their games work and not up to Valve. Forced updates help organize feedback, it's also up to the comsumer to go to the forums or contact the developer with proof of bugs or issues they have encountered. When people blame Valve for letting a "crap" game be on their market, it's as illgical as a consumer blaming Amazon for a bad product they ordered. Valve doesn't have the time to quality test each and everything that come to their market so bares no responsibility, just as GoG, Origin and others have plenty of lemons... so it's silly for people to expect them to. As indicated, the problem with certain games not working on certain systems is higher than GoG or Origin but that's also because Steam is vastly larger in games library and users. Still, at least the problem is minimized by forcing comsumers to auto-update. I think it should be up to the developer/publisher to enable/disable updates directly. Early access on Steam games actually have this option but it's a bit deceiving in how it works. Instead of auto-updating, you select beta-branch module which is used for consumers who bought a game in early access to test the newer/newest build in game before it's released. If a developer knows they aren't going to work on a game any longer, or patch it then they should just notify Valve immediately and direct action should be taken accordingly. Valve should not enbale the comsumer to have so much freedom (that would be bad around the holidays) but really more of the developer and publisher so that everyone can be on more solid ground and understanding. -

Man, DRM-supoortive companies really need to switch to Denuvo. I thought it was wjat everyone was doing but I guess I was wrong. Then again, MGR is an older game and DRM wasn't as logical as it is now, no safety pins. Always supoort Denuvo, in Denuvo we trust. In wherewhich if the company shuts down, they just remove the traps software ad the game remains playable all the same. -

You cannot "lose" your receipts as long as you don't completely lose your identity, and thus the ability to claim ownership of your bank account. Which then can be used to obtain copies of any receipts. Since you're constantly making a point of schooling folks on the *digital* world, and in the digital world, every transaction can be traced. But of course, you already knew that. Yeah, I already thought about that.... So, there's a big problem here. Everything is tracable but that doesn't mean it's automaticallly proven because it can be traced. Identity theft is too easy these days. It's not even the market's responsibility to trace and confirm a person's account/identity or purchases. This is why most marketplaces (the smart ones) have two-step security measure. Neither Steam or GoG are going to help recover or legitify an account and/orthe account owner - it could be dangerous for them. -

I like Thor Ragnarok alot. I think Kate Blanchette played a perfect Hela, she played the character even better than Tom plays Loki and that's quite the feat. In my opinion the first Thors were just okay. As far as plot, I think there's alot more detail in Ragnarok than the other two movies, alot of little details and easter eggs for fans of animated films/comics that the majority won't catch. Planet Hulk qas rendered beautifully, Red King was a great catch, Korg was a good inclusion. Now, just waiting to see Ant-Man and The Wasp because... what's better than a 20 foot Hello Kitty PEZ dispenser? Lmao -

I suppose it's a "smart" answer until you realize that nothing *digital* is truly ever owned. The general public seems to think that service agreements do not matter, even moreso that if they are not confronted by a terms of agreement that one should not exist. Point being: Lose your account, lose your hdd, lose your reciepts and you'll see what I mean For, it is truth that even the current console generation has you install from a disk, cept for which strangely requires disk to unlock it. All dlc, even in "complete" versions of games whether on console, steam or a non-DRM marketplace such as GoG requires internet to download the from servers locked with passcode from drm-enabled network (granted those servers are still up). Most non-drm advocates either never think this through or try to find a way to justify it, that's an issue for realists like me. Truthfully, I say to thee, I have no argument, nor quarrel against people who do not like DRM, as long as they don't try to interject their non-drm stance in a place where it's unnecessary. If I did, I probably wouldn't be an avid GoG supporter but my action in words was that the "No DRM is the better sale vs Steam sale" is irrelevant, considering that the excuse is usually used by anyone in favor of one over the other. -

Continuing the conversation from the former thread... You'll never see GoG, Origin, PSN, uPlay or any other minor/major marketplace putting in efforts in their sales. This includes: *Creating special badges for participating in sales. What are badges? Badges are digital markers you can feature on your profile to make your profile stand out or take "pride" in an event or show support of a product. *Trading cards. Trading cards to be collected, sold, traded. *Creating a browser game to encourage publishers/developers to make discounts more accessible, to encourage Steam users to stay active. *Giveaway for high rated and high quality AAA/indie games for free to those who cannot afford it. *Hosting live-streams of developers to promote their games and discount more when reaching a certain amount of viewers. I mean, sure all these points could be arguable to a certain degree. An non-Steam user might say "Nobody cares about badges or trading cards or profiles" yet has an avatar if somethimg they like, which isn't anything different. Or perhaps, find some way to complain about the free games - because it's 2018 and we're in an age where people complain about free lol Point being that all this just proves the juncture of my points, but that's not all, there's allt more that Steam's doing that shows they've put more efforts in their sales than anyone else. You guys may let me know when someone else does these things or the other things I did not mention. Apologies for not going more in-depth, for fear of wasting my time. If anyone has any suggestions to how anyone else has put in more efforts or just as much efforts as Steam does into their sales, I'm all ears. I mean, my main goto marketplace is Steam but I'm equally involved with GoG, Origin and uPlay. Of course, I'm talking about an intellgent answer, not an incredibly biased irrelevant answer such as "Well, no drm is enough for me". No offense to anyone who was going to say that. -

I agree that most AAA titles are good. It's pretty hard to find a bad one but I guess you'll always have those peeps who think it's cool to hate something for being something popular (It's really no different from hating CoD as a franchise or EA as a company). We seem to be in a generation where almost nothing is good enough, The Witcher 3 is damn good though, I was so happy to see it got raving reviews even from those who hate rpg's and only played open world action games. Chance says that a repeat of that favor is highly unlikely. I mean Mass Effect Andromeda wasn't by any means a "bad game" but it promised much and didn't live up to the first 3. Track record means nothing to me because of it, even Obsidian is an example. And I totally agree with CDPR games getting better with every release. The Witcher 1 was horrid, The Witcher 2 was good and The Witcher 3 was great. What makes CDPR unique is that most of their had no interest in The Witcher series before The Witcher 3 became a thing. As I said, 90% of CDPR's fanbase didn't exist until the third game was released or shown at E3. Sadly, most fans still aren't even aware that there is a Witcher book series nor have ever played/have any interest of playing the other 2 games but they may just be what shapes the development decisions of CDPR as they further develop the game. Who knows, they may squeeze that third person mode in the end since they are nice people and they love to please fans - why it would be bad is because it's not what they really wanted to do and when they stray from that path, it's never really a good thing so while there's no point for me to worry about that right now, it still worries me of that possibility may come into play at some point in the cycle. I have no doubt Cyberpunk 2077 will be huge and sell well though - not that sales or popularity ever mattered to me anyway. I can't wait to see the game play but don't want to set myself up for disappointment. I wouldn't be disappointed if it was Deus Ex or a first person Omikron. I'll be disappointed if it's like an rpg version of Perfect Dark. I would really love it if it was a healthy mix of Deus Ex and Omikron The Nomad Soul lol As far as what's been revealed, I've read everything I could find on the game and that's also what sacres me. It almost sounds too good to be true, I can almost smell in the back of my throat, a hellish repeat of No Man's Sky (or even worse - Star Citizen in terms of release date maximization only I mean). It's far more easier to mess a game up than to make a great one. Even with all the hype removed, I still need to wait and see the actual gameplay before getting excited but I'm glad you and everyone else here is. If it turns out to have great things going on and the devs show some gameplay, I would pe-purchase it asap. Will Cyberlunk 2077 revolutionize games as we know it? If course not but it is certainly welcome to try, I will not say no to it. Now, I command CDPR to keep up the great work and with confidence believing that it will be at least decent to that regard - one would think it cannot be worse than the first Witcher anyway. I'll drink to that -

The thing is CD Project Red has only ever worked on one franchise until now, it took them three times to make a game that both they themselves and the gaming community happy. 90% of their fanbase never existed until their 3rd game if we're being realistic (going by sales of the games). While I agree that people trashing a game can ruin it before release, also too much love and hype from the community can also do that too, this was initially thought to only be possible for crowdfunding games but proved for non-crowdfunded products as well. People would never thinks that passion and love could kill a product before it's even but it can when it generates certain expectations. I would assume that if the game is a Deus Ex on steroids then only half people would love it, the other half hating it (for being like Deus Ex and not set apart enough). Both good reasons to love and hate the game. I, myself, am a Deus Ex lover in disguise, if it was like Deus Ex I probably wouldn't complain but looking at how established JC Denton is, it would be like seeing a game like The Witcher pop up, even if it did everything better, people would still be in the right to complain. People will make judgements long before playing the game and rightfully so, since we have youtubers who will get demos and review copies early. I suppose the question "Will it live up to the hype?" will be answered then but I'm not holding my breath for the game. It didn't make top 10 E3 trending games and with good reason. The Witcher 3 is one of my top rpg's ever but so far there's no indication to why this game will be decent or good other than "It's made by CDPR so hype!" Which isn't very much to base the crazed hype off in the first place. I need to see more but I'm not expecting to be blown away with anything but pretty graphics. I wish I could join the hype and say "It's going to be the best game ever" but I need a reason to, more than two cgi trailers I mean, which explain absolutely nothing or could mean anything - depending on how you look at it. I'm normally the glass half full type of guy but I'm waiting for something to be poured in first. I'm interested in what others have to say though. -

I'm not sure. Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be very popular on this forum for whatever reason, I'm not convinced it will be as good as people think, I think hype and the CDPR community/fanbase will ruin the game lomg before the release if it hasn't already. Additionally, you have people that "claim" to have seen the actual gameplay and say nothing but "It's amazing", seems a bit fishy for a number of reasons but I guess this youtuber is super excited for the game and was butthurt that other people weren't lmao
