Agony is a horror game about hell that is getting rave reviews. What nobody knows is that the released version had cut content and was highly censored. The uncensored version is called Agony Unrated and will be sold as a seperate title, but are trying to talk with Steam representatives to make it free update or dlc for existing owners (no response as of yet). https://steamcommunity.com/games/487720/announcements/detail/1648761723383113903 New Diablo project in thr works... likely a Diablo mmorpg? Why of course... https://youtu.be/4ZfwVqur_Kk -

Meh... Those devs that said "We're leaving Steam to go to GoG because we got a letter saying that our games will get removed." Yeah, that was all just BS. They'd never leave Steam, they would just censor their games if they had to. The sex sells offense was just because they couldn't be creative enough to make something else. In retrospective, it's very easy to see that the devs were ar fault here, not Steam. And although it's hard for people to realize that Steam wasn't complaining but rather that consumers were flagging games for their hentai, Valve seems to get the flak. Not that Valve would get embraressed by this at any rate and I highly doubt GoG would let their marketplace be filled with HuniePop in the first place - GoG has learned alot from Valve anyway. -

Same here. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the first game, but unlike a lot of people, I'm not clamoring to get my hands on Red Dead Redemption 2. I'm sure it'll be great, but Rockstar doesn't deserve nearly the amount of praise that they get. It'll be an enjoyable game, but once I'm done with it, I'll move on to another game and that'll be it.That's my thoughts with GTA5.... I enjoyed Watch Dogs and Mafia 2 more but GTA5 stole everyone's thunder. Didn't really deserve it but "legacy". I know a guy that absolutely despises Rockstar and while I wouldn't go that far with them, I can understand why. They definitely get a lot of attention, hype, and praise even when they don't deserve it. Nobody looks at what they've done wrong. That, and I think their games are needlessly edgy just for the sake being edgy. But hey, if you criticize Rockstar, you'll probably just be attacked by the Rockstar fanboys. Yep. Alotta audiences are like that, sadly. Same could be said for Call Of Duty fans or Infinity Engine fans, and so on. Alotta horrible games out there with a die-hard following. There seems to be the false logic of "We will follow these franchises to the death because they had a game that revolutionized the genre" even though the devs of the games didn't revolutionize anything back in the day. For me, if a game sucks I just move on, so many games out there that it's just too easy to not get stuck on one or two. That's how I look it anyway. -

I won't be buying it either. Strangely, I don't think it's wrong for me to say that the game's sales will dwarf The Witcher 3's and GTA5's anyway and this anti-consumer act will not even decrease sales a bit -

Red Dead Redemption's anti-consumer pre-order bonus is 3 hours worth of content. It will not sell sepeeately later, add to that, it is only available if you buy the special and ultimate versions version of the game. This put a huge smile on my face because anti-prepurchase cultist can not do a damn thing lmao -

I may hold off til more patches and dlc gets released. I did the $65 pledge which was for the game ad the dlc's. Not enough press X for awesome in the game? Sonething like that! Lol Doesn't seem challenging enough so far. I usually like my rpg's to go slow, quite opposite of my Lego games. However, this doesn't seem to be an issue with controls or user interface, more one of difficulty and lack of interactivity which I feel was better done with the first Pillars. So far pacing is also an issue, I may be wrong but it seems that I'm going quickly through the main quest without even rushing it. I might say that Kingdoms Of Amular was a bit too much press X-ish. If only it had put a bit more into story, though it certainly wasn't lacking in interactivity on any level. Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen still remains yet to be dethroned on my rpg list... I've played so many of them - from Chrono Trigger to Saturday Morning TV Rpg. It's possibly the most balanced rpg I've ever played, plus I love the old-school graphics and choice it presented players with. I've probably said it too many times in this section but I'll say it again l, I really wanted Obsidian to taje notes from Failbetter Games on the ship/crew mechanics and navalway combat. Sunless Sea was a game I loved because you spend much of your time reading the dialogue thriugh rpg but when you're not doing that the game goes to realtime ship vs cthulhu combat... but we got something much less. Sunless Sea is a funky rpg from the devs who main mobile games so I suppose that separates it from something more casual like Deadfire. It's practically a pirate sim though.

About 15 hours into Deadfire... it's boring the hell out of me to be honest.

I thought that they said that they were working on a new IP, though I haven't watched the video. You could be right... People have been saying they've been working on Superman for like 3 years but as far as I know it's just a rumor.

If Rocksteady annouces a new super hero game, I will pre-purchase it instantly. This is my promise to you all <3

Deadfire vs Tyranny
SonicMage117 replied to rone's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It's hard to say.... Deadfire is much more open and less focused than Tyranny. Tyranny almost feels board-game-ish at times. -
I just bought Lego The Incredibles, well pre-purchased. I am pro pre-purchase, it doesn't come out for a few weeks so... Meh.

Why? Because my opinion differs from your opinion? I can give you a list of reasons why Return To Castle Wolfenstein doesn't hold a candle stick to the newer ones but you wouldn't lend an ear like an adult to consider those reasons anyway. So I'll spare myself the energy. Unless you're talking about the multiplayer, Return To Castle Wolfenstein is pretty horrible. I mean, it was okay back then... It's aged horribly if we're being honest. The newest Doom certainly isn't retro or retro like, unless you consider being "retro" as keeping the main character and enemies but changing/updating everything else to fit today's standards and players concept of mechanics. Or maybe you're saying it's retro because it's fast paced room to room gameplay which is the opposite if slow moving Doom III. Who knows at this point. But sure, as always, I have no idea what I'm talking about -

That's exactly what I mean, Bethesda should stick to publishing period. They should never make games again, and Fallout and Elder Scrolls ahould be put to rest as well. There comes a time Kemosabe's, where people need to just move on and accept that Fallout and Elder Scrolls were never outstanding games whether old or new. We just need to move on period and so does Bethesda -

Bethesda is actually a bit better now than they've ever been... Look at what they've given us: 1. Finally a Doom that isn't retro (and doesn't suck) 2. Finally a Wolfenstein that doesn't suck 3. Wolfy 2 The New Colussus 4. The Evil Within 5. The Evil Within 2 6. Dishonored 7. Dishonored 2 8. Prey And soon Rage 2. I think alot of people need are judging them off of Elder Scrolls and Fallout. When were those ever good? :L I've said it before ahd I'll say it again, Bethesda needs to quit making rpg's and just stick to what they've done best over the years. But yeah, they're a much better company than they've ever been. Problem is that Sony and Ubi are pushing out so many great games that I think it's intimidating them. -
I'm not offended, I re-read your post and see what you mean now... See, people who are enjoy Obsidian's games are going to be offended for the real-world reasons I stated in my previous post, especially when they can't disprove or argue it. I mean, I'm a backer just like anyone else, I just care less I guess lol I don't know The console versions of Pillars 1 are recorded as one of the worst selling games this gen. If we look it up, we'll find that's true. It would be pretty shadey to assume the sequel will sell any better than the first, especially with tons of games releasing this year and next. Why would a console gamer who loves rpg's care for Deadfire when they have so many other games? Why will Steam gamers care about Deadfire in a few months with so many new games releasing? I really don't have anything to prove here, my questions speak for themselves. I'm not even going to talk about GoG sales because, even being top seller on GoG for a year wouldn't be a feat or an accomplishment for Obs. This is perhaps the worst place to write such a thread since there are a few guard dogs patroling the forum, people will defend anything they like to the death, blah blah blah. However, I commend you for your bravery! On the bright side, if the game fails, there are plenty of other games that will succeed so if the game doesn't do well in the end, it's not the end of the world and Obsidian's doors won't be closing so, I don't see the wrong in asking questions, there's nothing misleading about it.

The fundraiser was a success, yes, I agree. Funds from backers were for game development, those aren't counted as sales success by any means and their quota for business is only calculated just months before release to determine how success is driven and/or percieved. As with any other business company with or without backer funds.

What did they do wrong with Deadfire, you mean? The development of Deadfire was a mess, unfocused and all over the place due to adding so many new features like multi-classing and sailing. The ambition of doing all these new things with classic Obsidian twist and innovation was great but in the end they bit off more than they could chew. The end result is a passable/good game but certainly not goty by any means. Why do I not think the longevity of PC sales will hold up? Simple. Too many great titles coming out from Mid June til year's end. Even crpg fans will forget about Deadfire, instead of buying it (even when they see it on sale), they'll rather use that money on something newer, bigger, better. Pillars 1 on console is great, they did everything right with the port itself. My guess on where they went wrong - marketing. I honestly console owners even ever heard of it, I mean, I know for fact that most console owners have never heard of it still til this day lol It's hard to get a Crpg to sell well on console, it's a more hardcore rpg audience so you have to really re-learn and rethink marketing from a business standpoint.
