Been watching The Outpost by Syfy on CW, while it's similar to 100 and Xena, I'm enjoying. The female lead is also soft on the eyes and very likable (more likable than the original Xena).

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - BATTLE ROYALE

I don't think it will ever actually get finished but I do think it will be released but an incomplete "full" release. To appease people, of course. -

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - BATTLE ROYALE
SonicMage117 replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Here we go guys, it's begun.... It seems a decent portion of early backers suddenly backed out and are demanding money back from backing the game. Seems like they've had enough and are tired of waiting. Now the response of the devs is particularly interesting and the contract/terms of agreement worked on in favor for the devs. Reminds me of what happened with Double Fine, not that that's bad. Double Fine's rep wasn't even tarnished, if anything they got more successful after the lawsuit so... here's to the industry. Here's to devs and pubes!!! #MakeNMSgreatAgain2018 -
RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - BATTLE ROYALE

The internet page sucks, the listing sucks. That's why I use the phone app. If you're a prime member or a rewards member, you should be using the phone app anyway, it makes everything so much easier. I agree the internet page is horrible for users, that's probably why they made the apps. As far as ordering, I only order from Prime comsultants and sharers, which, as you guys probably know, takes care of you if you have a problem. Admittedly, this was a great news story though. I don't really blame Amazon for it. I just blame the pirates. I mean, those guys could have infiltrated anywhere - it doesn't take much efforts and it has nothing to do with a marketplace being secure or thorough with a supplier/seller. It was just a con-artist and nothing more. -

^I decided to pay $3.00 to play detective. It's piracy. Someone took the GoG version of the game, repackaged it with their own installer signed and published with "Ace Media Group LLC" and submitted it ro Amazon. The installer looks fairly lrgit but the uninstaller doesn't work. They left GOG-specific metadata and Galaxy64.dll (for GOG Galaxy client integration) in the install difectory. https://youtu.be/M69RokAgogY I agree with the general concensus, normally drm ISN'T okay but when things like this happen, Denuvo is a great thing for developers and publishers to force on comsumers. Whether people want to accept that or not doesn't matter, the real people at fault aren't the publishers but the pirates who do these things. Of course, Amazon already banned the sellers but the damage is done. On thr bright side, more exposure for the indie devs who made Frostpunk. -

It's good effort but doesn't seem like Nathan Drake to me. -

You'll see I'm right when it releases. It's going to be muddy and unfocused. Chris Avellone will offer player choice ajd that will be the diwnfall, as these types of games were never meant to offer such things. I agree it should be about the gameplay and not the story, it's not hard to write a good post-apocalyptic zombie storyline but it is easy to mess ut up by trying to expand it to places it shouldn't go. -
That's the main gripe with infinity engine games and open world games as well. Their way too familiar. Every other genre pretty much has games which seperate themselves. And yes, I labeled Infinity Engine games as their own genre

Queen Of The South... As a Texan, there is much truth in this show. As an American, well, the rest of America is pretty blind to it lol

Dying Light is my favorite zombie game, after the Dead Rising games. Dead Island always looked horrible to me so I never got it. I realize that Techland is made up of people who worked on Dead Island but have seen enough to know that Dead Island is nothing like Dying Light. -

Speaking of, I'm a bit less excited about Dying Light 2 knowing Chris Avellone is the narrative director. I already know the story won't be as strong as the first game's. At the same time, it's another Dying Light so..... -
We still have that technology and it's advanced thoroughly. Nobody utilizes it anymore. It's expensive to stream games as big as they are now.... Alternatively, we do have "the cloud" which is more or less the same thing. Streaming a gigabyte of uncompressed textures isn't quite the same today as it was then, but even streaming Netflix is more advanced.

Eh...When comparing mods, it's very unfair to Infinty Engine games to Bethesda games. I mean, I see what you're trying to do but if we're being honest, Bethesda's modding community is worlds ahead and better than any Infinity Engine game's modding community, so much though that it wouldn't even be worth mentioning BG2's mods. Now... About Infinity Engine mods, there's another reason why they're not worth mentioning. None of them drastically change gameplay or experience of the games BUT we do have the Enhanced Editions which strangely I don't see people mentioning here. I never see the point in using mods to justify saying a game is good. The game should always be judged on it's own, without mods. If a game comes with unfinished features, any model made to fix those features should never override how ****ty those original features were. What's the worse is when people let their bias say one game is horrible for being unfinished unless it has mods but another umfinished game with mods is the greatest game ever just because they care for it. Bias proves just as bad a blinder as Nostalgia.

Shemmue is such a good game with so much choice. It's world actually feels alive... something that's rare in belovef rpg's. Even though the graphics look horrible in HD, I think it will be worth the $30 on Steam or on PS4 -

Ouch... Though I can relate. Game took me about 45 minutes to download so it's not like I'm doing much better here.

How does one become video game writer?
SonicMage117 replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
There are an infinite number of ways to become a writer for a great game. Sometimes it doesn't take as much effort as many would think. For example, you'd be surprised at how many writers for the biggest AAA games of now were just writing in a basement 7 years ago for a one man Rpg-maker project. With more and more games following the bleak lore-style inspired by souls games, it makes it much more accessible to be a writer in the industry as well. If you are included in a project that you know there won't be a sequel or prequel to, it enables one to out less effort into the backside of lore while still making it in-depth and quality. So there's a few pointers. -
What would your videogame looked like
SonicMage117 replied to Melusina's topic in Computer and Console
A very linear game with no grinding and less player choice It would be well written... Imagine it would be similar to Supergiant's rpg's. The best rpg's we've gotten in years. In short, a well made game with no filler and quality gameplay -

The people in the comments make me laugh, seems they care more about the youtuber's amazing cyber hair than Cyberpunk 2077. Struck me as strange. Strange... Smash Bros games were always casual, and they were always meant as a party game not dislike Powerstone... More importantly, Monster Hunter World on Steam/GoG? Say it ain't so!!! -
Amy Adam's Sharp Objects looks good, might just take a gander ;)
