Dear Obsidian, I was thinking about Kotor II, I know I speak for everyone here when I say we'd love a similar game but with better combat, fast paced action oriented combat, qte's and being only on one planet. Traveling to different planets is some overused bs in today's sci-fi games, we just need one planet so the game can be focused. Aliens, I'd love lots of different alien species. No spaceship for travel, no need to go into space. I'd like to see some in the environment just for show though, like set pieces. No romances, resources better spent elsewhere. Lots of unique sci-fi melee and ranged weaponry A main protagonist who is fixed as a character but can be whatever class you make them. Regenerating health, no rest needed for restorations. No D&D bs basically. Just a simple combat system yo make the game engaging, so you could focus on making the story more complex and refined, more meaningful. Today's greatest storytelling games have no combat after all and you'll worry less about balancing. That's my pitch, love ya guys! Pillars 1 still my favorite game of all time P.S How awesome would it be if the unannounced project was all this and more?!??

Okay, now now... Let's be honedt here. Pillars 1 was very focused, Tyranny and Deadfire on the other hand are very experimental. Deadfire feels as different to Pillars 1 as Pillars 1 does to Tyranny. I'm with Daven, I'd really like to see something of a new IP. Something we wouldn't expect from Obsidian. I'm not talking space sim or anything old school either, I'd like to see something modern like an rpg racing game or something Idk.

What's worse that a Superbowl performance? A racetrack one, worth the watch! And this girl is really good. I always appreciate when disabled people possess more talent than the non-disabled. It's quite humbling, tisn't it?

"Age 46, Single, Trump Supporter, Checks his Facebook constantly" Did I get all that right? That sounds a bit like he has a lot of free time. Is he retired? I'm guessing he goes after the non-Trump supporting youth of our nation and if I'm right, that's very sad. I'm always on my phone, my wife would kill me if I had that desk or was constantly on the computer. Phone is a bit different though. I really do wish I had the free time maybe when I get old, that old (50 and up is hella old) just maybe I'll be that lucky to have a nice pc desk and a Lotta free time. Who knows lol

My wife and I watched a movie called Breaking In, it's one of those Lifetime type movies that empower/impact women and scare them at the same time lol It was decent. Billy Burke is always a good actor, even in Twilight series

UNLESS YOU VOTE! It's in the nominees for the VGA. How neat would it be for the game to win something. The sales may have been low but Obsidian's great efforts can still be validated (and even immortalized!) if you just be American, do your civil duty and VOTE! https://thegameawards.com/awards/ If it doesn't win, it will be all your faults so y'all better do God's work!!!!!!!

I haven't had a good experience with ATi since 15 years ago, so avoid their bs gpu's and go with nVidia. More money cost but better performance with less transistors, better driver support and optimal for gaming. And yes, I still have my 9800 Pro 256mb agp It's just nVidia seems so much more rounded for today's games.

Not sure how much screen you are going for but this one looks decent https://www.pcrichard.com/catalog/catalog-product.jsp?prodId=GL63069&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8NT10ubf3gIVSrXACh06jAa9EAQYASABEgILS_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

You'd never think that Prometheus from Arrow is actually a Puerto Rican because he does such a great everyday Caucasian American lol Here we see/hear his real ethnicity come out https://youtu.be/m8_oe3-bmqw

The meme you guys made of me was pretty funny I admit But it just makes some of the sonic haters look that much desperate, come on guys, there's no need for jealousy and all that stuff. Anyways,

I wasn't bashing any gays? What makes you say that? I have nothing against gays as I have a few friends that are. If I'm really that much of a thorn in your side then you could just block me, sorry to hear that though. I actually thought about leaving the forum a couple times but for the people that fund me annoying, that would make things for too easy for them I think. I never thought I was being too negative though lol I think what bothers people is that I continue when there's really no need but it's strange to me because I have the right to post as everyone else. So people saying "You shouldn't post like this because we dont" or replying/trolling me and acting as if I'm the one trolling for responding in the same manner never made much sense tbh.

I also noticed 'Sam & Max Hit the Road' which wasn't available on Steam before.Yarp along with Star Wars Pod Racer and a few other things -
Who here liked Avatar? I thought it was just okay and nothing special. Story wise it was lacking. I'm hoping the second will be better.

Bruce (2nd me) vs Volourn (3rd me) will be an interesting fight to see

That's pretty much why Microsoft and Sony are going after indie devs. Like you say, indie games have become a pretty big movement in the industry within the last 5 years. This is mainly due to storytelling evolving within that spaces. You have hungry no-name people that are doing new things in games tht have never been done before so it's not anything unexpected for a larger company to recognize these teams or individuals. Indies are responsible for any freshness now days really. I agree that Crpg genre is pretty big now but the crowd/fanbase is still pretty niche. Consoles are more complex an hardcore games, it's either that or miltiplayer games with a social aspect, so it's hard to get players into a more casual experience such as an IE game like Baldurs Gate or Obsidian's very own Pillars Of Eternity. I'm just looking forward to what Obsidian does with Microsoft backing them now. I would love to see something innovative from them like an rpg racing game or something crazy like that. Now they have room to do something untethered by the fanbase, they can do something they always wanted with very little risk, if any at all. I think also that the usual Obsidian fan will view this as a bad thing because Josh Sawyer is a great name in the Crpg realm and Obsidian has a historical value to pc gamers 30+ years old. Microsoft acquiring Obsidian is without a doubt, the best thing that could have happened and it's a huge compliment to the company but you will see fans do everything they can to make Microsoft into the big bad wolf here, without any reason except "It's never a good thing when a big company buys a smaller company" but that's not really why they're against the acquisition lol

I always saw it as Microsoft is just preparing for a powerful new line up for the next generation. They noticed Obsidian's work, just like they noticed the Minecraft dev so they uhhh went for it. Well, as far as Obsidian's financial state, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they were in a bad position. Obsidian was losing staff members, cutting teams, lower sales for Deadfire than expected, putting the work and effort into a console port that was marked as one of the worst selling console games this generation - due to Obsidian having some of the worst marketing in the industry. Obsidian wasn't going to last much longer, even when pumping out truly quality titles. Microsoft not only makes them financially stable but takes the burden off for marketing and other things so they can breathe.

Well that's why I can't buy Shenmue Remastered. It just looks so terrible, the storytelling, the audio, the voice acting, the graphics and gameplay in Shenmue were once great things but man has the game aged horribly - nevermind the fact that Sega was supposed to do a proper remake/remaster but went the cheap route instead.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON

That's why I can't support MMO's. Blizzard's World Of Warcraft is another example - yet somehow manages to get a free ticket for whatever reasons the fanbase excuse it with. Anyhoot, Escape From Monkey Island is now on Steam. Give a hoot or if you don't, I'm slipping a spoiled nut in your meal tonight. -
Right? I assume he will grow a beard as the show progresses, kinda like Amell did on Arrow. That would be neat! I also hope they have a shot of him walking down a street and a cat hissing/growling at him but that is probably wishful thinking

A Special Announcement From Obsidian
SonicMage117 replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Obsidian General
Well, Rockstar is a totally different company and one thing I've learned in the gaming industry is "Never Say Never". After all, we just got Voodoo Vince abd Bayonetta on Steam/PC so anything can happen. We could still get RDR1 and it may be when Rockstar releases RDR2 if they do. Microsoft just brought the only non-PC Xbox exclusive to Steam a few days ago. Obsidian games should be no different? Because "strong" doesn't mean "rich", being independently strong, talented and releasing good games doesn't mean that they automatically make good returns. We see bad games make billions and good games fail on the charts all the time. Obsidian needs Microsoft because they don't know quite how to market, never did. Lol Right, because I'm the one demanding that Obsidian still make Crpg's and release on GOG, or I'll stop supporting them... Makes sense Obsidian taking a buyout from Microsoft isn't anything like EA putting lootboxes into their games so I'm not sure why you're trying to make them appear as the same thing. Obsidian's doors would be closing of not for Microsoft, EA wasn't in any danger. Survival, my friend... Survival. There's only one big difference. We are assuming we know that Microsoft will somehow interfere with Obsidian's games, we know about Star Wars movies and Bioware games, we don't know anything about Obsidian's future games so there is a lot of speculation on the forum as per usual and as expected. I'm not sure why you would say "They HAD to sell out, therefore they AREN'T good at business". That's nonsense, this is like you're "Obsidian isn't strong because they had to sell out comment. How the games sell is far different from how the company is run lol The way the company is ran doesn't have anything to do with selling out? First time I hear if this though. But I was talking specifically about the close fan-base here. The members you see commenting on the forums, the regulars, these are probably the most passionate fans of the community and yes, members here are the enemies. What else would they be? Who writes snide comments about the deal without reason, just because of their fear? They should be like "Wow, hope you still make good games on pc. Good luck and bravo, you can breathe a bit now" or something rather than "Dissapointing. You no longer have my respect or support." but it is 2018, and the entitlement is high, so is reverse logic on the net, nothing new here. Where did I claim that Obsidian was a "Financial genius" exactly? You are putting words in my mouth, my friend but I can't bother with the fact that you're someone who thinks a great company can't have any problems, go bankrupt, be bought out or have issues. History has only proven the opposite and I thought you'd know better than this. -
RDR2... every time I play, I learn something new. Last game I remember to feature decomposing bodies is Age Of Empires 2... But I can still cut off body parts here lol
