Gosh, this rum is ****ING HONEY. Straight from St. Martin. I wish I'd have a fountain of it.

He mentioned the party member he wrote was of a more lighter tone, perhaps comedic, so as to counterbalance the very weighty and brooding tone that otherwise dominated the other characters. Would that describe Tybir? (No idea who each character is, haven't played or seen much at all.)

I do admit it gets me a little concerned too. I'm hoping for the best, but we'll see soon enough how things turn out. Any idea if one of the three characters scrapped was the one designed by Avellone?

Man, I dunno why, but this one just keeps cracking me up over and over. It's that #InstantRegrets look in her face. I can't stop giggling at it either.

My expectations for Kong: Skull Island are decidedly on the low side. However, I have to say I've been loving what their marketing team's been doing with the posters:

Pirates is a weird one; I'm well disposed to the franchise (I even liked part 4) but this trailer feels...too familiar to what they've done before? Ah, I was already at odds with the franchise from the very first film and it's only gone worse from there from what I've seen and heard. Can't say I'm enthusiastic at all about a new one, but then again it's not me the trailers (and the film, I guess) have to convince. What always makes me enthusiastic about a new Pirates film is a new Kermodian rant about it.

I liked the Guardians trailer, the Pirates I can't really care at all for. I did like the Stranger Things and Logan ones from the ones I recall.

Owls are super cute. They're also the black metalheads of the animal kingdom:

Indeed. Both films are as of right now my favorites of the last two years. And yes, Vangelis will be tough to match up to. But I think he'll do fine all the same.

Well, considering the original project had Magma working on the soundtrack, they could have done a lot better back then already. Jóhann Jóhannsson's been doing some great work with Villeneuve of late too.

Not big on the dubstep, but I'm looking forward to it.

That's a pretty cool mashup. I heard this earlier last month: Was intrigued by the following quote from an RYM review:

Not being American I have to ask, how exactly are the rules for the immigrant vote in the USA? Based on what I'm reading you need US citizenship to be able to vote, which not all immigrants would have, and less so any illegal ones. If so I'm not sure by what means you can affect the results by "illegal immigrant votes".

I agree but I don't think diversity was a problem the first time around. Twin Elms was a *very* different city in feel, culture and appearance than Defiance Bay. I personally did not mind Twin Elms as much as I heard others do, but I still reckon the problem was if anything a lack of content more so than a lack of diversity.

I wouldn't hold my breath... In the director's commentary I recall Sawyer saying that they were not happy with the decision of adding a second big city, or at least the end result. If I recall correctly, they felt they were unable to develop it properly and give it the focus it was due and so on. I reckon they'll likely stick with one big city this second game (and no multi-level dungeon). Of course, maybe I'm wrong and maybe they do feel more confident in making two big cities instead of one.

I dislike the new stretch-goal myself. I think the voiceover work on the first Pillars was largely inconsistent, especially when dealing to the very minor/supporting characters. I fear that adding more voiceover work will dilute its quality instead of enhancing the game. I'd rather that money be used to acquire better talent to work on the already-planned V.O. instead. That said, I don't mind the addition of character voice set options, as I thought the ones we got were a tad limiting.

This, exactly. I really like the changed being implemented here.
